Really underrated for its delicious coffee. Also the tacos are good as everyone says. I would stick with the pork ones which are their specialty. Ambiance is like a giant cafeteria, but service is fast and they take Apple Pay like almost every other place.
Amazing, fast, simple tacos & Mexican food! The chilaquiles tasted so authentic very similar to what im used to like back home in Cali. I got the green sauce it was tangy with a lil spice and they add toppings like crema onion culantro and eggs or meat. One of the better chilaquiles I had here in Tulum!
This place is a must when visiting Tulum. Authentic, delicious , affordable tacos. Only negative thing I can say is that it's distracting to have street vendors approach the table while eating.
Alright yall this place is the real deal for tacos in Tulum, I'm not joking! Great environment authentic food what more can you ask for. And priced so reasonably you'll fall outta your chair.
From an outsider, this seems to be one of Tulum's most beloved taco spots by tourists and locals alike. Whether you are getting takeout or sitting in to eat, the folks here are friendly, efficient, and work really quickly. It's a really chill taco spot, but they close really early each day (sometime between 1-3pm I believe). But I have no problems eating any type of tacos early in the morning for breakfast lol. I've been told and read from multiple sources that this place has the best cochinita pibil and lechon. Also, the cochinita pibil is very regional to this area so I knew that I had to hit this place up before leaving Tulum. You can order their food in taco or torta form. I came here at 7:30 in the morning on the day I was leaving and wanted tacos. I ordered some cochinita pibil tacos and a relleno negro de pavo taco with a horchata to wash it down. The tacos came out quickly with some accoutrements including salsas on the side. Oh my gosh, the taco meat was so juicy and flavorful. This was such a perfect way to end my trip here in terms of food. They were so good that I ended up ordering a lechon taco as well that came with a little chicharron on top. I had to stop myself at four total. When I got there, there was a short line outside, waiting for takeout. But there was plenty of seating inside. I would imagine this place gets really busy as it gets later in the morning.
Alright now yall, this placed was highly recommended to me by locals and peers. This is my second time visiting Tulum! I ordered two cochinita pibil tacos (pork shoulder), arrachera (skirt steak), and bistec (shredded beef). First off, the service here is genuinely on point! You are greeted, seated, and your order is taken. It is vibrant and busy inside, but they still strive to provide each patron with a phenomenal experience. This was evident, as I watched the way they navigated each table making sure that the needs of all patrons were met. My tacos came out promptly, and I was also provided with salsas and onions, yummy! I doused the tacos with the toppings! When I took the first bite of the cochinita pibil tacos, wow!!! Okay, it was like pure love and harmony! These tacos took my taste buds on an adventure. An adventure to flavor-town! Let me get onto the rest of the tacos, otherwise i'll be reflecting all day! The arrachera was so hearty and tasty, it had me feeling grounded and also grateful for the vibrant flavors. The bistec gave me Northern Mexican vibes, and made me appreciate good food with the vibrant seasonings and abundant flavor! This experience was delicious and peaceful. The staff is phenomenal, the food is phenomenal, thank you Taqueria Honorario! Yall have no idea the level of magic that you are cooking up!
My family and I recently visited Taqueria Honorio for lunch. It was recommended by almost everyone we talked to about our trip to Tulum. The place was bigger than I expected; I was imagining a small shack selling the best tacos. We arrived around 1 pm, and the place was not crowded. We were seated in the back, and the server took our orders immediately. We ordered two tacos each of cochinita pibil, lechón, milanesa de pollo, and poc-chuc. The tacos were good, but I was not impressed. My kids ordered three more tacos de cochinita pibil, and I ordered another lechón. The food was good but not amazing. The service was quick, and I am glad we did not have to wait in line to get in.
We came here after diving (this is right around the corner from KOOX diving) and it seems to be really the best spot to get tacos around here especially for their cohinita pibil tacos (sort of like tender baby pork) seems like locals and tourists both love it as lines are out the door. It was easy to find parking across the street and the place was very simple and easy to find as you'll see their name written across the front and inside there's a few pigs to reference. It's packed to the brim and service was super fast and easy. Super casual and you can be in and out if you want and they accept take out at the door if you just need to eat immediately. This place has no air conditioner for reference but has one of the best guac I've ever had which started the meal off and whereas I can't find Diet Mexican Coke almost anywhere in Mexico - this place has the diet Mexican Coke!!!!! The tacos itself were mind blowing especially if you're hungry I think I was going to see God when I ate these tacos because I was starving from my dive trips. I went silent because they're so good. The pork is just so soft and so tender it literally melts in your mouth and there's nothing I can do to forget this experience. I wish I got more is all. My partner got their chicken which was her favorite along with the cochinita pibil and the beef ones. So if you're a chicken fan you'll be happy here as well.
Highly recommend coming here if you like tacos. Came with a party of 8 in the middle of the weekday around 12pm and there wasn't a wait for a table, but it was busy with a steady stream of people. Tacos are personal sized. Recommend sampling all the meat ones. The chips and guacamole was delish too. The watermelon juice was really refreshing as well (literally puréed watermelon). Service is fast and friendly. It says on the outside of the restaurant they take card, but when we went it was cash only. Restaurant is located in a more local area of town.
Bomb!!! Our wonderful travel guide Ruben from local travel mexico brought us here(wonderful guide and company!) . He ordered us two different pork dishes and they were fantastic. Home made tortillas with different salsas. I almost took the tortillas home with me they were so good. It was a Mexican Mayan mix dishes and it was fantastic. Hole in the wall place but Dang good!
We had a great lunch here. You can tell it's gotten popular because the other restaurants on the block were pretty empty and this place had a line. Our fam remembered enjoying it years ago when it was more of a tent and turns out it's just as delicious. We ordered pork and steak tacos, a torta, a quesadilla, horchata, pineapple frescas, and flan. All were stellar! The horchata was perfect, not too sweet. Definitely recommend.
Hands down the best chilaquiles I've ever had, and maybe my favorite thing I ate on my vacation. I had the chicken + egg chilaquiles with red and green sauce mixed, which my server recommended. Heard about this place from a friend, and I'm here to spread the good news. Just go! Tips : Get there before 10am or expect a line. Wear something lightweight, no AC! They do have espresso here, but it's not the main show
This place is decent size. No reservations so first come first serve. It's very clean and staff speak very good English. Regardless of how long the lines are they move pretty quickly. Let's talk about the food. Delicious!! Eating here felt like going to a Mexican friends house and having their mom cook for you. Chiqualies with eggs was so yummy perfect amount of sauce and it wasn't soggy. The house made sauce was so good. Chicken and pork tacos were good as well. Very flavorful. We had the sandwiches as well and the bread on its own is something I could eat all day. Very clean restaurant given how busy they are. Highly recommend don't be too worried of the long lines they move very quickly.

Everyone had said that if you like tacos, you need to try Honorio before leaving Tulum. I know it's been featured on a lot of foodie shows and in articles, so I was glad I finally got to go here on my way to the airport. When you first walk up, it doesn't look like much (just like every other restaurant in Tulum) and definitely did not look like it would be the place with the "best tacos in Tulum", but you could tell you were in for a treat just based on the people around it. We arrived right before the rush so we were seated with no delay. Right after being seated, the line started forming and had a wait time of over 40 minutes. It's of course open air seating with the kitchen in full view so you can watch all the servers running plates to the tables. It's not a fancy place by any means, but the food cannot compare. The tacos are cheap ($20 each) and so flavorful, so be sure to try one (or two) of each. You can also choose to get it as a torta ($42) or quesadilla ($35) if you're feeling hungrier. Don't forget to load them up with the sauces provided. Also, the fruit juices are fresh and so good with the spicy sauces. Next time I'm in Tulum, I will be eating here everyday. They also offer plate options of the meats (bigger portions served with tortillas and sauces) ranging from $95-110, as well as a variety of fresh juices ($25) and desserts ($15 per empanada/$40 for flan). ***all prices are in pesos and accurate as of Jan '21. Boy am I happy I stopped here! There was a little of a wait and line that was pretty long and I now see why! The tacos are amazing and packed with flavor and seasoning! I ordered the lechon and pibil tacos and they were delicious. The tacos are Yucatan style and everything is made fresh to order! Price was extremely reasonable! Ay Dios Mio! Que Comida tan Rica! This place was absolutely amazing! Now this is the food I was yearning for so bad on this trip! There was a line to get in but it only took about 10 minutes. This place runs like a well oiled machine! I don't think there is anything on the menu which wasn't a 10 out of a 10! The food was fresh, delicious and the salsas they offer were absolutely tasty and spicy in the right way! I'd definitely recommend this fantastic taqueria if you're visiting or even driving through and need a break. Salud y gracias! read more

So this place is supposed to be one of the best taco places in town. I tried 2 each of Lechón, Pollo and Turkey.... 6 tacos total and yep the server looked at me like Are u sure? I should learn how to say "the looks can be deceiving" in Spanish by now. I'm not a taco person. Having said that I very much enjoyed the tacos at Tropi next door. Or maybe it's because I like steak better than chicken or Turkey. I liked the toppings and the flavor but the texture of the turkey meat just wasn't for me. We went here a few times during our stay in Tulum. It's always crowded with people, some of who are getting orders to go. Definitely a hot spot for locals. The prices are very low and the food is incredible. We like to sit right in front of the pork and watch the guy make tacos. I highly recommend one of the fruit juices. My favorite is the watermelon. On our quest to find tacos of all kinds we came across this little mom and pop shop and was curious of the road side cooking that smelled oh so good They are known only for a few items CHONCHINITA, LECHON, PO CHUC (AKA CARNE ASADA), and RELLENO NEGRO (aka TURKEY) Lechon was def a favorite with crispy pieces of skin. Definitely not the healthiest but it sure is tasty. They have fresh daily made Agua frescas for 15 pesos each. We got the Jimaica and Horchata. Both came in water bottles so we were a little iffy at first but they were both fully sealed. Both were very good. horchata was probably my favorite because it wasn't too sweet and was full of cinnamon-y goodness. If you want to fill up on good food for about 14 pesos per taco then look no further this is your spot. Service was quick and fast. Cleanliness is so so... it's street food what do you expect? read more

I first went here in 2018 and absolutely loved it! Some of the best tacos I've ever had. Went back in July 2022 and it was still good but definitely not the same. I don't know what it is and maybe it was an off day but I was looking forward to this place for weeks before we came to Mexico. We even made the trek to Tulum just for these tacos and left underwhelmed :(. read more

This is the best taco place in Tulum, seriously. Me and my partner went on a taco tour and most places were good but Taqueria Honorio is on another level. I ordered the cochinita pibil which was juicy and citrusy. The lechón al horno which was tender and always served with a nice piece of pork skin which gives it another layer of flavor and crunch. I also tried the steak which was nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly, tender with crispy ends. Also the wild card, the turkey taco made in some type of black sauce topped of with an egg. This one was extremely good. One thing we noticed was that most of the locals eat the sandwich version which we ended up trying. The sandwich is the same as the tacos but it's surprisingly different because because the bread was so soft and flaky, it didn't over power the meat at all. If you arrive at Tulum and are thinking about going to check in at your hotel, don't, swing by Honorios, get a taco and enjoy. read more

Local flavor, live music, delicious tacos... what more could you want? I had the pork, turkey, and carne asada... all spectacular! Don't miss on the fresh juice served in refilled water bottles (I had Hibiscus). An excellent place for breakfast/brunch, and amazing value. read more
I came here a few years back, and came back again and it always hits the spot. The tacos are flavorful and delicious and come piping hot! There is a line to get seats but the line moves relatively fast. It is 100% worth it to stay in line! The Cochinita Pibile was my favorite and my husband and I devoured a TON of tacos! Yummmm it was so delicious I can't wait to go back and have some more tacos!! read more
Best taco I've ever had! I must say that every part of the taco was well-thought-through - the tortilla was homemade and fresh, the meats were good in quality and seasoned well, and the toppings/ sauces were also good but not over-powering. Ordered two tacos - one cochinita pibil and another poc chuc, both were fantastic... although they are known for the cochinita pibil so definitely get that one! Good size, not street tacos sizing, way bigger. Also very clean restaurant! 5 stars for sure! read more
Amazing! I was heading back from a workshop when I asked my taxi driver where I could find good tacos in Tulum. He pulled up and parked in front of Taqueria Honorio so I hopped out, ordered 2 of each of their tacos and a Fanta. It cost $18pesos a taco & $20pesos for the soda and they give you salsa, hot sauce and green sauce and all of it was bomb. As soon as I took a bite I regretted not buying more. Some of the best tacos I've ever had. the meat and the homemade tortillas are probably the highlight, but even my vegetarian friends enjoyed their tacos & tortas so this place is great for everyone! Food comes out quick, the salsa is spicy and fresh and the food is cheap but quality. read more
I heard really great things about this place. And I even watched a YouTube review, done by a guy that was so over enthusiastic that it almost made me second guess it. But I knew it was a place I had to give a try. So when you go to the restaurant, the appearance isn't all the much. There are like normal tables and chairs like you would find a high school grad party or a BBQ. And what seems like tents with fans. But you are seated and there are bowls of salsa and pico and lime. (One of the salsa's is VERY hot. Don't make the mistake of not trying them before you dump it on a taco. You don't want to learn the hard way). But the place doesn't look like much. Like is said above. I seen a video on YouTube about this. I seen one taco that had fried pig skin on it. It looked amazing. I ended up getting that and 2 other types of tacos and a quesadilla. Let me tell you. I went here like 3 days into my visit. And it was the most flavorful food I had up until then. And I go further and say the most flavorful food I had under 1000 pesos. The tacos were so good. You could tell that these aren't any ordinary tacos. You will come back, like I did a day or two after. I just had to have it again. Everything was cooked so well. You could tell the pork was marinated for some time. It has so much flavor. They really have something special with these tacos. The other plus is they cost like 18 pesos each. They are SO cheap. So not only were they the most flavorful, I got them for a fraction of the price. The value of these tacos are CRAZY. This place was def one of my top 3 favorite places to eat in Tulum. There is no way I cant give 5 stars. This place blew me away. There is no wonder it has really good reviews. There is no over hype here. You will not regret making the visit at all. Probably the best tacos we had in Tulum. And we tried a few. The meat is marinated to perfect. Tender, juicy, perfect. The tortilla was fresh and warm. It is an unassuming place. We walked by a nicer looking restaurant on the way to this one and it was empty. Honorio had a crowd. That's how you can tell it's good. This is hole-in-the-wall-awesomeness status. If you have a chance to go here, you should. Another bonus - it's probably one of the cheapest meals we had in Tulum. And tastiest. read more

Great tacos and tons of seating. Giving it 4 stars since the cochinita pibil taco was pretty dry. The lechon and poc chuc tacos were the BEST tacos we got - would recommend getting those and foregoing the other options. The lechon taco even comes with a chicharrones on top. The guacamole was decent but not anything to call home about. Overall great taco place. read more

Incredible taco stop in the heart of Tulum Pueblo. Worth a quick stop for 1-2 tacos or a full lunch. We waited 5 mins at 1pm on a Friday for a table for 2, and service was speedy. Tacos are cheap and flavorful although a little small, and served with an array of flavorful toppings/sauces. Tasty vegetarian option for tacos too! read more

Our first breakfast in Tulum, and it did not disappoint. They take your temperature and have you put on sanitizer before entering. A busy spot, but we got there around 9:30 am and were sat in five mins. We had tacos (carne asada, cochinita pibil), as well as a quesadilla that came with crispy pork skin on top. Aguas frescas come in water bottles. The sandia (watermelon) ones were delicious. A really lovely spot! They do take credit card. read more

Fantastic tacos just off the main road in Tulum. My favorite tacos were the Poc Chuc and the cochinita pibil. We also got the Pavo and lechon. I do not recommend the Pavo, as it was lacking in flavor in comparison to the other cuts of meat. I'd rather fill my belly with the poc chuc and cochinita pibil as they are tender and succulent cuts of meat. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend stopping by if you get the chance! read more
If your coming to Tulum you must stop at this place for tacos. This is the best tacos in Tulum and one of the best places to eat. This place is very busy with tourists and locals so there will most likely be a line. Do your self a favor and wait. They have about 6-7 different tacos. I recommend the Conchinita Pibil, Roast Turkey, Lechon, Pork Steak and they also have vegetarian tacos. They also have other standard Mexican dishes but this place is for tacos. They give you a nice assortment of salsas for the tacos and lime. If you ask any locals in Playa or Tulum they all know about this place and they all eat here. read more

Yummmm!!! This is a must visit breakfast spot! Tacos for brekke, ummm hmmm. We did it. We biked here from our hotel so we were good and ready to get down on some tacos. The tortillas here are hands down the BEST in town, soooo good! So plump, so filling, so delish! The tacos are stuffed with meat! The Cochinita is outstanding. The service excellent, the juices refreshing. You will definitely want to make it here for breakfast. I miss it already! Soooo good! read more

This was one of the many taco stops on our Mexico adventure, but one of the best experiences. The tortillas were pressed and cooked to order in the open kitchen to the side. Pico, mild green salsa (tomatillo?), fiery red salsa and limes were available at the table. We ordered the cochinita pilpil (pulled pork), lechon con horno (baby pork) and the pok chok (pork steak). The chile marinaded turkey and a vegetarian option that was not ordered. The baby pork was tender, delicate and mildly sweet for pork. Serviced simply with pico, I only added the mild green salsa since the hot red salsa would cover the sweetness of the pork. The cochinita pilpil was savory, rich and spicy. It was served with pickled red onions to cut through the fatty, savory pork. Your pick with the salsa this time, the pork will hold up. Finally the pok chok was was served with a red salsa and pico. All the pork tacos were delicious, I can't seem to pick a favorite. Definitely my favorite place for pork tacos in this town as far as I've tasted. The baby pork was perhaps the most unique part of the experience though. Also super cheap prices (18 pesos - less than 1 usd per taco). Bring cash, enjoy! read more
