Stopped in at Taqueria Bravo late on a Tuesday night. I was greeted quickly by a friendly young lady who brought me fresh chips and salsa. A gentleman came over and took my order. I asked for a spicier salsa and he definitely delivered! It was soooo good! I ordered grilled chicken breast with sautéed veggies. This came to the table quickly and was served with rice, refried beans, and for piping hot homemade tortillas. Everything was delicious, including the vegetables. I'm sorry but I didn't take pictures. The ambiance and decor needed a little TLC but the quality and flavor of the food more than made up four any shortcomings in the appearance of this little gem. I believe I already reviewed this restaurant. However I will say that their food has great flavor. They do not know how to make Al Pastor correctly so don't get your hopes up. Their beans and rice are one of the few I will eat. Very good. Haven't been there enough to review anything else I ordered al pastor tacos twice seeing if maybe there was a mistake the first time and they were the same just chopped at meat. Nothing you'd expect where I get it at another store and I cook it myself it's big chunks of meat big chunks of pineapple and big chunks of onion and it's so good. Perhaps they'll read this and make it right. Overall it's one of the better restaurants here in Poteau. read more

My favorite Mexican food in Poteau by far. I've only gotten takeout out and have not eaten in the restaurant so I can't comment on the table service but they are gracious and helpful when ordering takeout in person. They don't charge extra for take-out like the other nearby Mexican place. Their menu prices are a little less and the food is definitely better, in my opinion. read more

Server She never said her name. She only came back once then disappeared. Had to ask other employees for refills, and other menu items. She's not very good. Ambiance Its your typical tex-mex restaurant. But, instead. There are actually cultural employees as well as lots of local Hispanic customers. Kinda nice to see a Mexican restaurant with Mexican employees and customers. Its a good sign to stay away when the local ethnic community avoids a place. Not true here. Food is always good, and they now have hamburgers and fries (which are very good). Service has always been good.

If you're looking for an authentic Mexican food restaurant, this is the place. The owners are from Oxaca Mexico which is southern Mexico. The food is unique and they put lots of effort into getting authentic and high quality ingredients. Try some of the traditional dishes when you visit, you'll be glad you did. P.S. the pirate special (know locally usually as the Steven Special) is meant for kids. Don't order that and then judge the restaurant on it. This is really good Mexican food. Hand Made tortillas! I wish I lived here but I was just passing by. I will be stopping back again on my return. Hard to find these authentic places. The restaurant is really clean and seems family operated. Tacos and gorditas are delicious. And the Horchata and Jamaica are made in house also delicious. Salsas are delicious as well.
