The Las Americas Restaurant had a very delicious parlando pepper stuffed with cheese, lightly breaded and coated with tomato based sauce. It was well balanced with flavors. The Carne Asada Burrito was a bit greasy, but flavors were spot on. Mexican Husband ordered the Carne Asada Gorditas. The flavor was fresh combo of meat & veggies. Mexican Tamale was enjoyable with a good measure of masa and pork. The restaurant was moderately kept, and has air conditioning. I'm from California where there's no end to the magnitude of Mexican food; let me say this restaurant is by far the most delicious food I've ever eaten & I've been eating it for 65 years!...from the creamy delicious refried beans, delicioso Salvadoran style rice like I've never eaten, a roasted poblano chile stuffed with, cheese & a cheese enchilada topped with a spicy tomatillo sauce- authentically prepared lime margaritas were hand shaken with the perfect combination of sweet & sour & a finish of tequila warming the throat as it passed down my gullet. Food was phenomenal! We ordered the chorizo queso to start, it came with homemade puffy tortilla type chips that were slight greasy but overall really good. I had the steak and chicken fajitas which were good and it tasted like the tortillas were homemade. My only complaint was my husband ordered the paella since this restaurant serves dishes from many different cultures and it came with heads on prawns and whole crab claws but nothing to open them with so he had to stick his hands in the food. He said overall it was a tasty dish though and would order it again. read more

The food was Very good. We did think the queso was a little thin, but still tasty. The one thing was our waitress was EXCELLENT. She even noticed a wasp that was close to my arm, must of come in through the front door which we were sitting by. She swatted it away and killed it. Don't let the exterior fool you! We almost didn't go in but we're really glad we did. Our meal was a fiesta of bold flavors and interesting textures including homemade queso (really good). How about trying meals based on recipes from El Salvador and Nicaragua. And, they do have Mexican food! The menu is intimidating! If you are there for the first time, really look the menu over and go for something new. Don't just go for the familiar: tacos, enchiladas etc. It is a small restaurant that appears to be previously a Wendy's or some fast food joint of that type. They do have quite a fair size dining area but, peak hours are very busy! They serve complementary chips and salsa. The appetizer selection large as is their beverage menu. They have many different imported non-alcoholic beverages along with some traditional south of the border drinks, some of which they blend up in house. We tried the Nicaraguan portion of the menu: Lomo Saltiado and Gallo Pinto. The Lomo Saltiado is sliced carne asada, cooked in a delicious red sauce with red onions, green peppers and French fries. It is fantastic and I would describe it as comfort food. When you start eating you won't stop until your plate is clean. The sauce is what makes this dish. A perfectly seasoned tomato based sauce that will have you using the rice to soak up any that is left over. You won't want to leave any on your plate. The Gallo Pinto is also very good. It is a generous portion of carne asada with beans and rice and fried plantains. Tender steak cooked perfectly, and caramelized plantains. This ain't Taco Bell, so be patient. Coming back from Branson we were in the mood for Mexican food and looked at the reviews and made the decision to stop. I hate that they are so far away because the food was amazing. What we thought was awesome was the price for the kids meal. Other restaurants should take pointers from this place. We ordered the kids cheese enchilada with rice and beans for $2.99. All of their kids meals are priced well. My wife ordered the chicken flautas and I ordered the beef chimichanga. We did our best to try and finish but we had to tap out. You definitely get your money's worth. Also, chips and salsa were spot on. Service was excellent. They made sure you were happy and the restaurant itself was clean and tidy. read more

Very true but we liked the taste. My husband liked certain parts of his food like I did but for the most part he found it so gross that we had to leave to get him a 7-up cuz he was feeling sick to his stomach. Went here for a huge family meal and had a great time! The staff was really friendly and were so accommodating when we asked if they could create some vegetarian dishes. I tried my first ever papusa. It was good but not mind blowing. I had the pork and cheese one. I enjoyed my fajitas very much and the margarita was delicious too. Quite a few of us ordered the frozen ones.
