We visit Poteau often to see my in-laws. This place is my favorite restaurant in town. We often come here after Sunday church and they always fit us in. Their staff is kind and knowledgeable. My husband gets their pork street tacos and loves them. I usually get their chicken enchiladas. We enjoy their chips and queso before hand. Very yummy. We like the time to catch up and enjoy their good food. We enjoy supporting their business. I do not recommend their sopapillas, however. The last one I had was merely fried dough & butter & honey. Missing the sugar & cinnamon. I didn't finish it. However we will always be back! read more

I always order a chorizo poblano stuffed pepper covered in queso on a bed of rice, and it's delicious. On Sunday's I order the chicken soup, which is also delicious. If you are sensitive to spicy things, the chicken soup might not be for you because there are dried jalapeños in it. This place has a special almost every day and the staff is kind and attentive. We eat here very often and have made friends with some of the servers. Food prices are not high and makes for perfect lunch/dinner plans. We were pleasantly surprised. We stopped here from out of town and it was very good. Staff were friendly and service was good. We went at lunch and they have great lunch specials. I had a taco enchilada plate with charro beans and everything was really good. Loved their beans. My spouse got beef fajitas and she wasn't a fan, but our friend got chicken and did, but the chips and salsa and queso were very good. Decor was cute and restaurant was clean. We're moving to the area from TX and we're very happy to find a nice Mexican restaurant in town, because that is always our go to at home. read more

They even have a drive through window to pick up your food on the go, just call ahead and drive on in! Fernando, Pablo and the rest of the crew are always upbeat and willing to go above and beyond to create a wonderful dining experience. If there's an issue, they go well out of their way to make it right. I've been friends with Fernando a long time and feel I can always offer up constructive criticism or quiet feedback which he welcomes in order to help provide even better service and quality to the next patron. He is open to what helps him helps others. Formerly the longtime staple, Wister Food Market, they have extensively and tastefully remodeled it for restaurant atmosphere. It is a large open dining area with just enough half-walls to create a semi-private and quiet area for couples or small families. There is also plenty of room to slide tables and make room for large parties. Get out and visit these fine folks. Help support their dream of a successful small business in Small Town, America! If you're a local, you may recognize some of the menu options, but I think they're served in a superior way. I'm always a fan of the steak chimichanga. Often, my wife and I split the Chicken Fajita Nachos. They are excellent done-in or carry out. Even the street tacos are top notch. We are headed there tonight for my birthday. Service was great . So great they may have forgotten to zap my food. It was not hot. It was very tasty. Just think how many stars they would have gotten if it had of been hot!. This place is a hidden gem! I visit Poteau every 3 months every year to see my family. Though there are 3 Mexican restaurants in town, I prefer this one because of the freshness of the meat and the taste of their dishes. I'm addicted to their steak dishes- get this: THE STEAK IS ALWAYS TENDER & JUICY AND MELTS IN BETWEEN MY TEETH. Plus I'm a chip fanatic and this place brings you the chips freshly fried and steaming hot, fresh and crunchy and the salsa is the icing on my cake!
