The quality of the carne was way better then a lot of what I've had in Washington. Yaritza isn't wrong the tacos taste like the chef enjoys what he's making. This is easily the best Mexican food I have had in Washington. This reminds me of a So-Cal taco stand. I got the "El Especial" which I can only assume is Spanish for "The Deliciousness". It consisted of three tacos (I got pork because I find Spanish-speaking cultures are the only ones that can do "the other white meat" right!) beans and rice, all for a paltry 5 smokes. Then there is a little "bar" where you can add all the fixins'. Cilantro, onion, a multitude of sauces (and they were actually pretty HOT some of them! I usually find Mexican food rather tame in the spice department) all there for you douse your delicious Mexican slop in. Some people are into how "authentic" a place is...well, I was the only one cook or customer, that spoke English. Ok, the cook spoke English and Spanish...probably to better deal with gringos like me. Finally made it to Tacos Los Primos #2--it's listed as one of the best places to check out in Yakima, AAAAND we all know how I'm down for taco trucks! So, on a trip home from Seattle I was going to drive through Yakima, so it was on! So, right on N. 1st Ave near downtown Yak town and in the Lost Sock Laundromat parking lot sits Tacos Los Primos #2 First off, I think it should be said that this place isn't "technically" a taco truck. It's more like a "taco shack". There is plenty of outdoor seating in front of and behind the shack. And if you need to wash your hands, they have a handy little sink (w/ soap and paper towels) right near the Ordering-counter. While I was here, I saw a steady stream of patrons coming in for orders with customers from a wide-range of backgrounds. I liked sitting at a table and listening to the Spanish conversations. I knew this place was going to be AWESOME even before eating! Ok, on to the important stuff: food! So, I was a little torn as to what to order. As Jon C. mentions, their meat selection is very diverse and good. So, I was lame, and just asked what their specialty was. "Asada", they said. Asada it was. I went with an Asada Torta, AND by Jessica Y's recommendation, I added some grilled pineapple (this was a first for me, and it was an awesome new flavor to me). I also had a pina Jarrito. So, are ya'll feelin' me--cuz this was some dang tasty Mexican food (aka pseudo taco-truck food). My girlfriend and I were wine tasting in Yakima Valley. We had just gone to AntoLin cellars for our first tasting and our pourer recommended this taco truck. As someone who grew up in Texas and now lives in California, I held in a chuckle at the thought of Central Washington having really good Mexican food. After all, on our way into town we passed a billboard proudly proclaiming Yakima as the "Palm Springs" of Washington. Of all the bombastic claims I've seen small towns make on billboards, that had to be one of the most ridiculous statements ones. Who do these Yakiman's think they are? Well, after eating at Tacos Los Primos, I am still not convinced that Yakima is anything like Palm Springs, but I am convinced that Yakima has at least one awesome taco truck. Tacos Los Primos has all of your standard taco truck offerings (tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc.) as well as a great selection of meats to go in these dishes. We tried tacos with pollo asado, barbacoa, al pastor, and adovada (spicy pork) as well as a burrito with carnitas. They also had lengua, tripa, chorizo, and a few other options too. The tacos ($1.25 each), though small, were packed with flavor. Our favorite was the adovada taco which was juicy and had a good amount of heat. They had onions, cilantro, radishes, and two salsas (rojo and verde) available to add to the tacos as well. The burrito ($5) was very tasty and filling, although the carnitas were a bit dry. I liked how before the rolled your burrito, they let you add however much salsa, onions, etc. you wanted and then they rolled it up for you. We enjoyed our food at one of several of the tables they have just behind the truck. This place does steady business, but they were very quick at preparing our food. We were both pleasantly surprised at how great the food was at Tacos Los Primos. Even in Texas and California this truck would be successful. Next time we are in Yakima, we will definitely be eating here. read more

Really great taco truck! We decided to stop here midway on a trip from Seattle and we are glad we did. The prices are great and the food is tasty. We had the: Torta with steak ($4.00) - basically a Mexican sandwich with ground beef, lettuce, tomato and avocado, pretty good. Three Tacos ($1.25 each) - the grilled onions were amazing. Tried three different meats: pork, chicken and beef. The pork was the best, really flavorful, but they were all cooked well. Horchata ($2.00) - this bought a HUGE cup of rice water, seriously, it was like 48oz, self-serve out of the orange tubs above the dry erase board menu. This was really tasty. (No offense to those that live in Yakima) But this food stand (and maybe the U-pick cherries) is all Yakima has to offer. I usually judge an ethnic eatery by its customers. If customers of the same ethnicity are eating there, it's got to be good - who would know better food than those that grew up on it?? Accordingly, when I came to check it out, this stand has both Hispanic and non-Hispanic customers. They make their food as the orders come in and their food is made from fresh ingredients... I ordered the pork torta while my boyfriend ordered pork tacos. OMG...the pork was tender and savory. They were both a little messy and greasy, but SUPER soul-satisfying. This permanently parked food truck serves a steady stream of Latino patrons simple, inexpensive, flavorful small portions of multiple beef, pork and chicken dishes. Under the serving window they have a salsa bar and ice chest for canned and bottled soft drinks. We each had 3 tacos on thin paper plates and split a can of Coke for under $10.00. Each taco was two 4" mass-produced, heated, corn tortillas with 1/2 oz. spiced meat and 1 tablespoon of pinto beans. We dressed them with chopped onions and cilantro. Al pastor was a minimally spiced pork with 8 pieces per taco that were 1/4" by 1/4" by 1". Pollo was similar strips of grilled mildly seasoned chicken. Hotter versions of both meats are available as are various organ meats. A seating area with 3 metal picnic tables with umbrellas serves well in mild weather. read more

I was about to turn away after seeing the run down food truck in a parking lot outside a laundromat. But I figured with all the great reviews there must be some merit or else many paid off customers. Beef burrito was basic with not many fixings. Flavor however was great but I had reservations on the cleanliness. There were some insects crawling along the outer edges of the truck window. I'm thankful I did not get sick and I can't see the appeal given the burrito was around $6 for a conservatively portioned filling. Outstanding food, very affordable prices and extremely friendly. This food truck has some seriously good grub. I had their Carne Asada tacos and they were heavenly. Perfectly cooked delicious meat and the option to add whatever your preferences are from the salad and condiment bar. Do ask for grilled pineapple with it. Absolutely delicious. My friends also had a bunch of other vegetarian options like customized burritos, tacos, nachos, wraps, rice and beans, etc. Every single dish was bursting with flavor and delicious despite being vegetarian. I loved how friendly and flexible the chef/owner was and how willing he was to make customized plates for my vegetarian friends. A must stop when in Yakima. We were passing through Yakima for the first time ever and very hungry: a perfect time for the Yelp App. When we got to what felt like the center of town, I selected "Find Nearby: Restaurants" Of those that came up, Tacos Los Primos #2 by far had the best rating after considering the number of reviews submitted. Apparently, a lot of Yelpers liked it enough to submit reviews. They can't all be wrong... So without actually reading the reviews, off we went in search of Tacos Los Primos #2. We didn't realize it was a roadside stand. Had we, finding it would have been much easier. Actually, had we realized it was a roadside stand, we probably would have made a different choice and not even looked for it. Regardless, we had considerable trouble finding it amongst Yakima's many one-way streets. Did I mention we were very hungry!?! When we did finally find it, we were taken aback. The sanitary conditions were... questionable (to be kind). We decided to bail and try Mel's Diner next door. A quick check of Yelp told us that was a mistake. So instead of adding to our frustrations and starting our search over from scratch, we threw caution to the wind and trusted the many Yakima Yelpers that rated the road side taco stand so highly. We both ordered the chicken enchiladas. They were good, but not particularly exciting. I tried to remove the vision of the apparent unsanitary kitchen from my mind, but I was unable to do so. This definitely detracted from my enjoyment of the meal. Afterwards, we hit the road. It was a long drive to Bellingham from there. We made it over Snohomish Pass before I stopped worrying about whether or not I had ruined the rest of our trip by eating tainted food in Yakima. Alas, all was well. read more

Okay yeah Los Primos is pretty awesome. What makes this taco spot different from the many others in the valley is its selection and quality of meats! I can't think of a meat that Primos doesn't serve. I will keep coming back for chorizo and carnitas; the chicharron was superb. This place has a great 3 taco con arroz y frijoles. I love coming here for lunch and getting a quick bite to eat because it is quick and there is hardly any wait. The only downside is that sometimes you need to speak in Spanish but it is a good time to brush up on your Spanish speaking skills. They are also patient with you and the menu is written in English as well. read more

THAT LENGUA THOUGHHHHHH! Good thing I decided to go out of the way for this taco truck. I got four tacos de lengua and one burrito de cabeza (cow head) and it was a solid 8.87/10. The lengua looked different than I thought but it was really good! The cabeza meat on the burrito was also very good but I thought the burrito was a little dry. A little more sauce would be nice and possibly some veggies on it would be cool too but I understand that might take the authenticity out of the burrito. The salsa verde was mediocre and it was no match with Tacos Chalitos in Ellensburg. One great thing was the food came out in literally less than 5 minutes so that was a fantastic! Also, for the tacos, you put the onion and cilantro on by yourself, which that might be for nice for people but I personally would rather have them put it on for me. About the meat: they have the standards such as asada, al pastor, lengua, etc., but also buche, suadero, and shockingly delicious tripe. Their buche is seriously some of the best taco meat I've had anywhere. We were on our way here when we ran across a teaparty rally. Ah Yakima- homeland of my husband. The city is the site of true blue Mexican fiesta time. Whether you go to Fiesta foods for the supplies, El Ranchito (RIP), or a delicious taco truck, this is one of the few times you thank your lucky stars you are in Eastern Washington. My man's family sadly doesn't eat at taco carts. Why? Years of crazy. No matter. We used trusty Yelp to find our way onto a nice site. Spicy! Fresh! Cheap! Don't be intimidated by what you see as far as an establishment, it's about what you taste. This was absolutely yummy. I had the Torta sandwich with beef and pork. Topped it with the homemade salsa (which I wished I had a container of it here for home). Messy, but wow! "pinched up" every last dropping into my mouth. My 8 year old daughter had the bean and cheese burrito. It was huge, she couldn't finish it. She wanted to know why our beans didn't taste the same (as good) at home....'cause we get the fat free version, that's why. I ate several bites of her left overs. Gotta like the real deal.
