I have driven past here several times and finally decided to go to try out their tacos and their Caramelo, Taqueria El Cheke did not disappoint friendly service although there was a slight language barrier food was fast, hot and delicious. The salsa bar had everything you needed to complete your tacos. The chard green onion was the perfect compliment to the meal. Definitely would recommend this place and look forward to returning. read more

An expanded food truck! They have enclosed the area around the tuck to make a more permanent restaurant. They have lots of fans to help with the heat. Turn in by the tire shop. A lot of typical Hispanic found selections... Tacos are individually priced and with your choose of meats. Chicken and pork were loaded with flavor and quantity of meat! El Cheke is located on the corner of first and river. Even though it's a food truck there is a detached building on site with additional seating. Taqueria el Cheke is a-ok. I personally found it to be very greasy. I ordered a Caramelo with chicken and it was extremely oily and not really pleasant to eat. My husband ordered the pork tacos. Neither of the items were very enjoyable but the tortillas were good. With so many options in Tucson for good tacos, Cheke was just a little too greasy for our taste. read more

The abodaba was the absolute best I've ever had. The spices were perfect. It was moist, flavorful. I had it on the Lorenza, a toasted street taco, and in a caramello. Both very delicious! The corn tortilla for the Lorenza was toasted perfectly. The Chipilon style Sonoran Dog was good, but not their star dish. The service is friendly. Last night, one of the brothers in this business saw my daughter had her purse on the table in our party of three so he came out, got a chair from another table and put it on the end of our table and put her purse on it. How sweet! So today I went to see my daughter at work and I asked her what her plans were when she got off. She replied that she was going to go eat. I asked where, to which she replied "Back at the taco place:" to which i laughed and said, "So am I!" We both were thinking about it all day because it was so good. That was hilarious. But the fact is, the abodaba is excellent! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? El Cheke just opened by Tucson Mall recently. I am so thankful that there is a new awesome place to get authentic Mexican food on this side of town! I had a pork taco, steak taco, and a Sonoran dog. The Sonoran dog had the usual toppings and was perfectly executed. The tacos had well seasoned meat that had the perfect amount of char. There was a great meat to tortilla ratio as well. The condiment bar was fully stocked with the usual extras that complete the meal. I got the 2 tacos and a hotdog for only $7.50, which is definitely a steal. Service was also very friendly and fast. I will definitely be back to try the other items. read more

This establishment is a food truck with a building which allows for indoor seating. There is outdoor seating as well. We had two Sonoran Dogs which were delicious. The food here is really good! It's real Mexican food - not like the cafeteria food at Guadalajara Grill or Ole. The service is okay - it's what you expect from a food truck. Sometimes you have to wait a while, but it's not obnoxious. The salsa selection is good, too. I just wish they used real Mexican corn tortillas, those thick yellow ones. For drinks, we ordered the El Tamarindo, Mangopeno, and Monica's Cafetini. For food, we chose the Vegan Jackfruit Taquitos Trio and the Fresh Corn Tamale Platter, which came with a side of squash. Everyone at the table kept digging in and couldn't get enough. Even the squash side was so flavorful that we ordered an extra serving. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.

The Prep Omelette was seriously so delicious and seasoned to perfection. It was well balanced and cooked well. The potatoes! YUM! They were crispy but still soft. The toast and jam...that jam is to die for! Husband enjoyed his french toast and fruit, as well! We were both very impressed. Service was good too, I was never in need of anything, and my coffee was filled when I needed it! It was also very clean and wasn't overly expensive. Every dish we have tried has been fresh, tasty and great presentation. They always have a diverse spread of pastries so we grab a few to take home. All of their pastries have been amazing. My favorite is their cronut and the raspberry pop tart. Lastly and maybe most importantly, is their delicious drinks. I love the butterfly pea mimosa! Their butterfly pea palmer is great as well. YUMMY! Their service is always great. Attentive and friendly servers. The ambiance is lovely as well- very welcoming, nicely decorated and a bright open space. The patio is quite large and dog friendly. One of the best brunch spots around- we look forward to coming back.

I ordered the banana cream matcha latte at recommendation from someone who's visited before with the matcha tiramisu. In the latte, I was hoping for a more flavorful banana cream. It had a nice finish and was very smooth, but I wouldn't have been able to guess it being flavored if I hadn't known. Both items were made from high quality matcha, so expect the steep price tag associated. Combined with the baristas being unable to differentiate between drink orders at the end of their bar, I wasn't really amazed given the reputation Brucha has. Maybe I didn't even receive my drink, and the above is all unfounded, but I won't be figuring that out anytime soon.
