I had assumed that finding good Mexican food in S Carolina would be like finding sane people in Hollywood. I'm sure they exist but they are deep into the minority. Well, it's wonderful to be wrong. The al pastor and chorizo were both solid. The carne asada left something to be desired but the green salsa was amazing and the pina was delicious. The service was friendly, the prices were cheap and if you've got a little extra time they've got a billiards table too. The chimichanga I ordered for take-out was good; but I always thought a chimichanga was fried. And I did not specify. Their description of this was either deep fried or soft and I missed that. They should have asked. Really disappointed. read more

Starting on the right chorizo, chicken, intestine and tongue. The other is the mixed fajitas which had a lot of meats and veggies. The tongue was amazing and soft not too much flavor but the sides are best, the intestines were my favorite this time bc they were crispy but not over cooked and kept their pork flavor. The chicken was really and I was too full to eat the chorizo but will have it for left overs. I loved all the sides cooked perfectly and the salsa was nice and spicy. The fajitas had lots of tomatoes and big whole shrimp nothing small. Will be back again very soon. read more

Very similar to the one in Indian Land with exactly the same menu. Choices are great with many options to choose from. Prices are about right. This location has a full bar as it is more established than our local one in Indian Land. Servers are very busy and tailor your dishes to your tastes. Substitutions are OK. We treated eight volunteers who work with us in cleaning the animal cages and caring for the cats & kittens in the Lancaster Pet$ense. Lots of unusual orders which the server took in stride. The best deal, to me is to get tacos. Plenty of different fillings, so you can taste-test the rest of the menu via taco-tasting. Truly A-OK. read more

So I normally order under my name Sheka but I change my name on DoorDash to Griselda. When I walked in I stated I'm here to pick up for Sheka because I completely forgot and then when the lady say Griselda I was like oh crap I did change my name on DoorDash. And I showed her my receipt on my phone like three times and she did not believe me the older Mexican lady that normally is at the front. They all start speaking in Spanish thinking I'm trying to steal food even after showing the receipt for my "Pick Up" Order for Griselda. when I have a literally made this one of our favorite places to eat and to support!Yet I was treated like shit. Then a guy comes up he doesn't speak he looks as if there's a problem does it even say too much at all. And didn't even hand me my food. Every time we go back and give it a chance we get let down. This place is out of control. I don't think they even care. It was ok when it first opened. Everybody kept waiting for them to put some money back into the restaurant but it never happened. Still looks like the same old nasty bar that it once was and the food matches. You can smell the dust when ya walk in. Bunch of Luke warm food smothered in bland ass cheese sauce. If your passing through we have 20 Mexican restaurants and I've been to them all. I am always look for those hidden mamma & papa food joints that the locals know about. If around this little town of Lancaster you have to stop in and order the Cuban Torta. Been all over the country and Alex (owner) makes one of the tastiest authentic Tortas I have ever had. They are huge usually only eat half. All the Tortas are excellent. So good hard to eat anything else the few times a year I might be in the area. However, the buddies who go a lot say the tacos are really good too. The salsas are so good I ordered couple bottles take back to the west coast. The man (Alex) cares about his restaurant and his family. It's evident in the pride he shows with his cooking. If your ever close to Lancaster stop in and possibly have the greatest Torta ever cooked. I would like to see this man get a chance sometime to cook a Torta for a food critic. This is the best Mexican restaurant in town. The tortas are massive and BANGIN. The tacos are authentic street fare. The gorditas are friggin delicious. They have all the typical Mexican dishes and none of them disappoint. Try the enchiladas poblano, it comes smothered in their delicious molé sauce. We go to El Manhattan on the Thursday nights they have Beau Beaumont as their live entertainment (which is generally every second Thursday). As we have been doing that for two years now, we've had the opportunity to sample much of their menu. It's your normal flavorful Mexican dishes, and of course large portions, always. They try to save "our table" for us, which is not absolutely necessary, but which of course we appreciate. Of course, with going twice a month almost every month, the staff knows us and we know all the staff. We're always warmly greeted when we arrive. Very nice restaurant, and you can't beat the entertainment. Beau is head and shoulders better than most live local talent you find around. Great singer with a wide selection of genres in his repertoire. If he'd had the right break as a young performer, we'd be hearing him on the radio instead of a local venue. read more

This is a hidden gem in the small deep south town of Lancaster SC. Alex the owner takes great pride in serving traditional dishes his family has enjoyed for decades. The locals know about it and when you see the local sheriff/police eating lunch there it say's a lot! Excellent flavors with a touch of dishes priced well below what they could be charging. Get yourself one of the best Torta's found in the deep South! Ask for the Fish Taco sauce specially made to dip chips or poor onto your tacos (it's dang good). They also bring out chips and salsas (red, green, regular all hand made exceptional tastes) with all meals. Daily lunch specials are killer for price typically $5 bucks and just can't beat the quality and price.
