Why 4 stars? Because it was perfectly fine, with room to grow. --- --- --- I was determined to hit up 3 different taco spots on this day, that were not particularly close to each other. This is one that I drive by all of the time, but usually on Sunday's when they are closed. So I made sure to prioritize this taco crawl on a Saturday. I ordered a beef, chorizo and carnitas. All were a solid 3 to 4-stars. To be honest, it was my least favorite spot of the day, but certainly not bad - the other two were just really great. I also rounded up because they had some other appealing menu options that I probably would have liked even better, but I didn't have the belly space for on account of the other tacos in there. read more

Overall good service. Slight language barrier, but my broken Spanish was good enough to order a few items. The wife said the only downside was the rice tasted like soap? No idea as I only had the tacos and they were good for the price. Would return if I was in the area! read more

These are our favorite tacos around. My husband eats here several times a week. Being an adventurous gringo in the construction industry, he fancies himself a taco truck connoisseur. (Though he'd be mortified to hear me use these words to describe him. Good thing he doesn't know how to use "the yelp") El Pichon is still his favorite for consistent, tasty tacos. My 5 year old son goes nuts for them too! The green sauce is medicinal, and if you are lucky enough to go when they have torta bread, get one and you will not regret it! read more

After the recommendation from a fellow-Yelper, I went to try their tacos today. I was just looking for a lite lunch and I was not disappointed! I ordered three of their tacos pastor, my favorites from my frequent trips to Mexico City. It took about 5 mins. to get my food and there were 3 other customers ahead of me already waiting when I arrived. Total bill, $5 for 3 tacos and a large bottle of Mexican Coca-Cola. On the beverage I was disappointed as I prefer Coke Lite, the Mexico equivalent to Diet Coke. The tacos were "stuffed," with meat, onion and cilantro. No piña though. Another disappointment. However the roasted onion and jalapeño along with the habanero sauce with the tacos was GREAT!!! So in summary, I loved it!!! I will be back very soon to try other menu items. They also serve very appetizing tortas (Mexican sandwich) from what I saw. Keep in mind, I save 5 stars for the places I find "extra special!" The lack of Diet Coke and pineapple, traditional with pastor tacos, would have probably earned them 5 stars. read more

My first time there today. Service was fast and friendly and I have to say probably some of the most authentic tacos I've ever had. The truck appeared clean and the food was fresh. The tacos were $1 each and are very small. Two was a perfect meal for me. I had one each of the pollo and the pastor. Be warned: the green sauce is HOT! Nice shady tables to sit and plenty of paper towels provided. A great place for lunch! read more

Taqueria El Pichon has the absolute best, authentic street tacos in the area. All of the meats are perfectly seasoned and cooked, served on corn tortillas and topped with cilantro and onion. I couldn't pick a favorite meat if I tried, so try them all! Their green and red salsas are both delectable and spicy! Even better, their prices can't be beat at $1/taco and $5/torta (Mexican sandwich). Venture outside your comfort zone and try this taco truck, you won't regret it! Only warning is they cook it to order so if you go when it's busy, you may have to wait for your tacos, but I assure you, it is worth the wait! read more

Best tacos in the neighborhood!!! I had to google this place to get to the right location, it is on 1488. Some reviews mistake this one with the one on FM 2978. Anyway, I got 4 tacos, beef, chicken, lengua, babarcoa, all for 5 dollars and they were delicious. I will definitely come back for more. Sad they close at 3-4 pm. Oh and I was told they have menudo on Friday and Saturday. read more
