    Tacos de asada

The best tacos in the Harrisonburg area. After being at JMU for a few weeks I was missing the traditional Mexican tacos I used to eat back home in Richmond. After researching a couple restaurants I found this taco truck and they are the best I've had so far truly authentic it makes me feel like I'm back home and all for a great price.

Fast service, great food! Ordered 6 tacos 3 pollo, 3 al pastor. Salsa verde was great as well as their hot sauce. Good fast stop of the interstate!

This a truly authentic Mexican eatery. They have all the favorites, from tamales, to tacos, to burritos. The owners also operate a food truck nearby. All the food I've had from both locations have been awesome. I love their tacos and their burrito is one of the best-tasting and most-filling I've ever had. Don't mind the decor of this place as it is nowhere near fancy. Let the food speak for itself and your taste buds will thank you. The manager/owner here is a really nice lady as well.

I was super excited to visit Taqueria El Primo before my visit to JMU! I was confused about where I was supposed to enter the restaurant but a nice man told me it was actually the food truck in front of the restaurant that we should order at. My party and I ordered the California Burrito, Supreme Burrito, and the huaraches. CA Burrito w/ asada was good, but a little spicy. Supreme Burrito w/ campechanos was great, if you don't love beans I would ask for less beans or none at all because they are very generous with the beans. With both burritos, we noticed the rice was kind of mushy. Huaraches was slightly disappointing, I've never had masa, so I don't know what it's supposed to be like texture-wise, but it seemed like mine was soggy. Man serving the food was very kind! Overall good food and good people!

Great authentic street tacos with friendly service. Pastor had great flavors and asada wasn't dry. They didn't skimp on the amount of meat and Avocado salsa was a nice surprise.

Decided to try this restaurant based on the Yelp reviews- for us, it was average. We ordered the carnitas burrito, steak fajitas and enchilada dinner. For appetizers, we had a pork tamale and chips and salsa. Those were the best part of our visit- their homemade tortilla chips. It may have just been us, though, because they had multiple people in the restaurant area and their phone was ringing constantly for take out orders.

    Something floating in the marg

*Update*: the manager came out and made things right but the server was still rude and not friendly after the confusion. I'll go back cause the food is great and the margs are cheap Service is awful. Server brought out the wrong drink and blamed me saying that what I asked for. I also spoke with the owner a week ago and he said they had a special for JMU students for $1 tacos, the server is telling us that it doesn't exist and that I'm lying. This might just be bad wait staff but I am very unhappy with this visit with my last one being such a positive one.

Had lunch here one day in the last month. Good stuff with nice Agua fresca. Food and service were very nice, I'll probably be back.

The best Mexican cuisine in all of the Shenandoah valley. The portions are very generous and the agua fresca is delicious!

The wait was longer than expected, and the service was below average, largely because the restaurant appeared busy and understaffed. There were other frustrated patrons having a similar negative experience waiting around as well. That said, the food was so delicious that I was able to overlook the frustrating pickup experience and still give Gloria's top marks. I honestly can't recall having better pupusas anywhere. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were full, and each dish felt homemade. I'm still thinking about it days later. A genuine word of warning: if Gloria's is your first stop in Staunton, you may not feel much motivation to try anywhere else for the rest of your trip. It sets the bar that high

Didn't get an opportunity to see the indoor section of the restaurant. The server was very friendly, but they were very busy and it did affect speed of service. In terms of beverages, I ordered horchata because I always order horchata. I have yet to meet a horchata I didn't like, and this was no exception. Sweet and delicious. I ordered birria tacos and a loroco pupusa. The birria was tasty and savory, as to be expected. Like most people, I dip my tacos in the broth because it's delicious. The loroco pupusa was really cheesy, which is a plus for me. All in all, this was a great place and I look forward to going back to try other items on their menu.
