Awesome Sandwiches!
Aaron F.

These guys are awesome! You will not go wrong by choosing between them and other trucks on location. Thanks!

Some of the best food we've had, and what makes it even better is it came off a truck! Find The Frenchman in NoVA. It's so worth every bite.

Ordered a chicken sandwich. It was not good. Dark meat and gristle. The menu said "Savory Deep Fried Chicken." No reference to a chicken breast I guess, so fair enough. I wouldn't eat here again though.

After checking in, we were quickly guided upstairs to a cozy, rounded booth--an intimate and perfect spot for two. Our server, Katie, was fantastic--attentive, knowledgeable, and refreshingly honest when helping us choose between dishes. We started with the deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes, paired with the Black Sheep Mule and a watermelon cocktail (wish I remembered the name!). For our mains, we ordered the short rib rigatoni and the steak bulgogi bowl. To finish, we shared the weekly dessert special: an Earl Grey tres leches. Everything was exactly what I hoped for and more. The starters were standout, the entrees were packed with flavor, and the overall aesthetic of the space was just beautiful. We'll definitely be back--next time for brunch!

It was also my first time at The Black Sheep but I had always heard wonderful things - all of which turned out to be true. The loft area is beautiful and overlooks the entire restaurant. Also when you reserve the loft, which holds up to 16 people, you order off the regular menu. I loved this as other places I checked into were much more restrictive with a higher minimum spend and fixed menus for groups larger than 8. We had 12 in our group. We started with a bunch of appetizers for the table and cocktails. Appetizers included the bacon tower, fried green tomatoes, hushpuppies, crispy chicken wings, and Mediterranean garlic shrimp. Dinner entreés were jambalaya pasta, the American wagyu burger, pulled short rib rigatoni and branzino almondine. There were zero complaints. We enjoyed EVERYTHING!! The bourbon butter cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert literally took me over the top. My belly was ready to burst :) Our waiter was attentive throughout the entire time and everything we ordered came out perfect. I must go back soon. It is a distance from where I live but there's so many things on the fabulous menu I want to try.

I got the build your own savory crepe option with two fried eggs, Gruyère cheese, extra goat cheese, spinach, extra tomatoes, and dill creama to put on top. The crepe instead of a tortilla option was definitely unique, but tasted light and went well with the ingredients I had chosen, not overpowering it at all but being the nice burrito casing it should be. The veggies were all fresh and the tomatoes were red and they actually gave me extra which was nice...most places won't add extra when you ask for it. The eggs were cooked well, though I wish they had another way of cooking them as an option for the build your own crepe, as they have scrambled eggs available for one other savory crepe. The service was great as they also added extra goat cheese inside my crepe as well as adding the two sides I paid extra for. Most places won't look at the notes and so I ordered two sides just in case, but I didn't end up needing them. They were quite generous with their extras. The creama dill sauce topped off the crepe quite well, and was a tangy, creamy addition to the meal. Their sauces had pretty decent portions, so even those like me who love their extra sauce will find one enough. You are definitely getting value for your money as the crepe was as long as my fork and super wide. IT WAS HUGE! I had to save half for later, so it was like getting two meals in one. TLDR: I highly recommend going to Clifton Cafe for your brunch needs! The food is fresh, delicious and has enormous portions, which will have you taking home a to go bag. Their take on food is unique and a refreshing change for breakfast, or brunch. I will be coming back to try more dishes!

I got a bowl of French onions soup which was delicious. Second only to Morton's in my opinion. They had a special of 8 ounce sliced filet with mushrooms onions and fig essence for 44 which I chose for my entree. The filet itself was fantastic and the mushrooms and onions were a good compliment to the beef. It also came with a side of which I chose the mashed potato's. The potatoes were good but a little too runny. Still a very minor issue. Consistently the best fine dining restaurant I know and I've never been disappointed in a meal as a whole. The service alone is worth the price. Will definitely be back.
