Great people, great food, great atmosphere, great service! Nothing inauthentic about this place!

We come often to Taqueria Garibaldi's. Its been our local favorite stop to go to since we moved here in 2021. The food always tastes amazing and full of flavor. I am typically going for the Bertha's Special but decided to swap over to a Burrito supreme for a change. I loved it! The staff/workers are always so so kind to us and the service is great. The restaurant is super cozy and the temperature feels great. Cannot say enough good things about this place! We have loved it for years and many more to come. read more

I see the potential.....it's just not quite there yet. We were in the area for errands, so decided to do a little restaurant hopping between here and the restaurant next door. The employees were very nice and friendly. The salsa was fresh and chips were warm, so a very good start. We ordered a combo with a tamale, a taco, an enchilada, and a quesadilla. The quesadilla was pretty good. The taco meat and the enchilada meat were the same and too salty with no other flavor. The tamale actually had a lot of potential, but it was cool to cold when served. I am guessing it was pre-made and refrigerated, which is reasonable.....but then they really need to make sure it's heated thoroughly before serving. Everything else was served hot though. Honestly I think with some minor adjustments, it wouldn't be hard for me to give it at least 4 stars......but the adjustments are much needed. read more

It's ok. I like the hulk tacos i get them every time i come. They taste clean and fresh, best seafood I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. The drinks are large but i could taste no alcohol in mine. Tacos and a margarita with tip was $40, its not $40 food. read more

Taqueria Garibaldi is located in a shopping plaza and offers some pretty solid food in a no-frills atmosphere. The no-frills atmosphere to me is usually a good sign for a Mexican restaurant. I'm a firm believer that the more humble to surroundings, you will often find the best Mexican food. This place here was no exception. For starters, the salsa they brought out along with the chips was pretty amazing. It was an excellent start to an excellent meal. I ended up getting one of the burritos and I have to say when the food was brought out, this burrito was huge. It was also pretty good. The music was a bit loud, but not terribly so. We were able to still have a conversation easily over the music. Another small complaint is that my food was brought out about five minutes after everyone else's. It made for some awkward chit chat as I encourage everyone to eat and they insisted that they wait. All In all, it was a pretty good lunch and I would definitely recommend this particular establishment. read more

If I could give this restaurant more than only five stars, I would. They are always so nice and SO quick to seat us when we arrive to the restaurant. The ambiance is exactly what you expect from a Mexican restaurant. Now to the food... I've never gotten anything that I don't like, but I definitely found an absolute favorite- the birria tacos. They were suggested by our server and were EVERYTHING I expected them to be and more. The brisket was falling apart, juicy, and tasted incredible. Then dipping it in the sauce on the side as well as the special spicy salsa and lime on them... my mouth is WATERING thinking about it. My kids both got the enchilada kids meal and ate every bite as well. It's an amazing deal for only $5 for a kids meal! I will likely never order anything else from here but these tacos. read more

Found by Yelp, kinda a hole in wall, used GPS to find it didn't see it at red light. It next to staples on the right. Staff was nice but inside very simple. Salsa is chucky but that great with me. And thin chips which are my favorite. We never eat here they have combination plates so I got Dinner I and wife got Dinner K. So we could sample alot of different food. And of all of it the tamales was the worse Of the 7 items we got combined. It was good just in my opinion not the best, fluata to me was best. Is was all good food. I would order any of them again. The cheese dip was great, lot of food. Only issue I had was I wanted unsweetened tea but I got sweet. The chicken that was in my meal was well seasoned and wet. These maybe our new restaurant for when we travel in these town. I seen staff play (joke ) with customers, also when we ordered the waiter explained every item in the order to make sure we got we wanted or if it wasn't what we thought it was we could change it, I love that. Definitely not the best Mexican restaurant. The salsa had huge pieces of tomatoes and was very tasty. The cheese dip was quite bland. My son loved his 4 hard beef tacos. I had a steak enchilada and steak was very gamey. This was my second time however not sure I will be back. read more

We went yesterday for the first time and were not disappointed!!! I got the Hulk tacos with shrimp, lengua, and pork pastor tacos, and Matt got the Enchiladas party. The lengua was delicious and super tender and so was the pastor. My favorite hands down was the hulk tacos. If they offer the hot sauce, get it with your tacos. It's got a great kick and adds nice acidity to everything. The enchiladas were delicious! The party comes with crema, mole, green, and red sauce. They were all super flavorful and the chicken was cooked very well. If you go, do not miss out on the choriqueso! read more

Taqueria Garibaldi's is our very favorite local Mexican spot. The food is hot, fresh, and delicious, and the service is friendly and attentive. They have fresh warm tortilla chips and very tasty homemade salsa. We were so happy that they offered curbside takeout during the pandemic, and we still order takeout or dine-in once a week most weeks. Try the fish tacos, the enchilada party or the sour cream enchiladas. They have fantastic margaritas as well - try the flavored ones like strawberry and mango. Bertha and her staff are top notch. Call ahead and let them know you have a big group coming for a party, and they'll be prepared. They have earned our loyalty with great food and excellent service! read more

I happened to be in the Alabaster area one Saturday afternoon, for reasons more complicated than are worth explaining. Hungry, I stopped here for lunch based on the reviews. I have to say, my instinct after walking in the door was to turn around and leave immediately. This interior is tired, feels a bit dirty, and as others have noted, smells a bit musty. Time for a refresh! However, the smiling face of the hostess as we arrived, and seeing how many people were actually eating here, we stayed. The service was excellent. The staff all paid special attention to my smiling baby, which was a very nice thing they didn't have to do. Service was also prompt and thorough. The food was fine. Nothing spectacular. My wife had some tired ground beef tacos, pretty standard. I had the fajita volcano, if I recall the name correctly, which is basically chicken fajita meat with pineapple, onions, and bell peppers wrapped in a tortilla and smothered with queso. It was as delicious as it sounds, which is very delicious. The rice and beans on the side were pretty meh otherwise. Overall, the meal was fine, but I might go somewhere else given the overall physical state of the restaurant. It feels like a bit of a gamble. read more

Here's the thing about Taqueria Garibaldi, for the money, you will simply not get a better meal. Especially for lunch, prices are around 6 or 7 bucks each for entrees. Are you kidding guys? I mean, you can barely get a meal at Mickey D's for that price these days. FLAVORFUL SALSA. As far as salsa's and chips go, this was very good. Very sweet from tomatoes (i hope from tomatoes and not from sugar), could have used a bit more cilantro, but nonetheless good. LENGUA. First of all, to get this out of the way, getting beef tongue for a meal in Alabaster, AL is already quite an achievement. Secondly, the preparation was very good in salsa verde. It was my first time having mexican preparation of beef tongue and it was quite delicious. GREASY RICE. Rice was not the highlight for me, it was covered in some kind of oil/grease. AMBIANCE IS MEH. I mean, not that I was expecting a lot from a strip mall joint in alabaster, but the layout is very odd. It's just a long hallway with some tables basically, they could have done things to make it look a bit better. But then again, back to the first thing i said, you can't be whining about ambiance too much when paying 7 bucks for a full meal. Overall, it's a welcome addition to Alabaster for me. I liked it here. I would come back again. I had the Fajitas Acapulco. They are really good. I would have liked a little more pineapple because that is what intrigued me enough to order it and I think there was only one ring of pineapple. A few more rings would have put this dish over the top for me. Even so, it came out sizzling hot as all fajitas should and it smelled delicious. I also ordered a small strawberry margarita to try. The price was right at four dollars but if there was alcohol in it, I didn't taste it. The hubby and kid ordered tacos which I have to say were extremely greasy which turned both of them off. I don't think they will want to come back here again unfortunately but I would give it another go. There is a lot to choose from on the menu and prices are reasonable. Large dining room so I don't think you should ever have to wait. Staff were nice and we didn't wait long for our food. read more

I've been to Taqueria Garibaldi a handful of times for lunch and always loved my experience. When you walk in, they have a takeout counter and some seating with outlets by the kitchen, which was great for me because I could come here, eat, and work at the same time. They have an open dining room full of seating as well. I always ordered the chicken quesadilla, enchilada, and tamale lunch special because it was so good every time and I couldn't tear myself away long enough to try something new on the menu! The quesadilla was perfectly cheesy and was made with mozzarella cheese instead of yellow nacho cheese, which I thought added to the flavor. Both the enchilada and tamale are made with a tomato-based sauce. All that food for around $6! I ended up taking home leftovers every time. Even their chips and salsa are really good. Their salsa is personally my favorite of all the Mexican restaurants in the area. I love Taqueria Garibaldi and if I ever find myself near Alabaster, I will be sure to eat there again. read more

This is my favorite Mexican Restaurant I have found since we moved here awhile back. It is family owned and the owners are super friendly. First, it is not fancy by any means but usually these restaurants are the best. The salsa is very good. Has plenty of flavor and is not to hot. I always ask for the hotter salsa which is not served and this salsa also has a great flavor. I love margaritas!! Theirs are not to sweet and have a little kick. Most places we have gone use mixes and add very little tequila. I recommend the sangria/lime margarita. It is so tasty. I usually order enchiladas so that is what I can critique. They are very good. Enchilada sauce has good flavor. I also love their steak burrito. Beans and rice are good as well. These sometimes can be ok in most places but here, rice is not to dry and beans have a good flavor. Cheese dip is a must as well as guacamole. So good. There are specials throughout the week. Check their Facebook page to see what they are daily. read more

This was an amazing find for me. I can't believe I live right around the corner from this place and never made it in I highly recommend this place we tried the fajita platter that had steak chicken and shrimp and we like things spicy so we asked them to make it spicy for us and it was on point. The flavor was outstanding. The server is very nice and the food came out quick we also tried the shrimp quesadilla which also was amazing of course we asked them to make it spicy and it did not disappoint.
