Sadly we arrived too late due to a flat tire. We walked in and were immediately greeted and told to sit wherever we liked. As we were sitting down we instantly had chips & salsa being served to our table. We were very skeptical about the quality of the food so we decided to order their Chicken Quesadilla with avocado and light cheese to share. The service was quick and accurate with our order. Due to us being skeptical we planned to just have a proper lunch elsewhere, but that all changed the moment we both took our first bite. Immediately we looked at each other and knew we had to order a second plate of this Chicken Quesadilla. We immediately called over the lady and asked for a second plate. The place was very well decorated, we especially liked the glass shelf casing with the comics. We noticed many locals began to enter and they seemed to be on top of getting everyone situated nicely. We went in not expecting much and ended up leaving very shocked and satisfied. If you're ever passing by Ozona please do yourself a favor a stop by here. Truly some good Tex-Mex as they say.

Road trip stop. Middle of nowhere. Blink and you'll miss it town called Ozona…read more Very Hills Have Eyes aesthetic so yeah... we needed food ASAP. Enter Pepe's. This place is like a collector's cave that also happens to serve Tex Mex. Comic books, random memorabilia, and as a huge Batman fan I was unexpectedly thriving in here. In the middle of nowhere and suddenly I'm distracted by collectibles? Didn't see that coming. Food though... mixed bag. Burritos are tiny. Respectfully... where's the rest of it? They don't use lard which some people will love, but flavor wise it felt a little flat. Guac was sad. We ordered the three scoops and got a small portion buried under a mountain of lettuce for no reason. Salsa with the chips was bland and the chips themselves were just... there. Now plot twist, the salsa that came with the burritos was actually good. Not life changing but definitely better than the starter situation. Service was great and there's a cute house kitty out front greeting you like it's on payroll, which honestly boosted the whole experience. Overall, cool spot with personality. It fed us and got the job done. Not a banger, but memorable in its own weird little way.

I thought the breakfast burritos were really good, but they did not compare to the lunch ones. After having lunch, I knew I needed to leave a review. One item of note, the burritos are pretty small so I would recommend ordering at least 2. My wife on the other hand was satisfied with just one. The 3 burritos with extra cheese totaled $16 and change, so I think that was a fair price for lunch. especially as good as it was. They have a great selection of different meats. Both my wife and I had a Chili Verde Burrito with extra cheese. The Chile Verde had a good kick to it but was not too hot. The meat was super tender. You could tell it had been cooking all day. Great flavor and like I said the spice level was just right. The burrito was wrapped in foil, so when we got back to our RV, it was still blazing hot and had given the cheese time to fully melt. Delicious. I also had a spicy Chili Guisado. For those not familiar, it is a beef slow cooked in brown gravy. While it did not have the kick that the Chili Verde did, it still had a little bite, and with the salsa it was perfect. But the flavor was spot on. Another delicious option. We are here for another couple of days so its entirely possible that I might be back to try a different selection. They also have chicken, ground beef and potato and a brisket offering. And I'm sure I am probably missing something, so check their website for the latest menu. Other than that, their menu is pretty limited so don't expect much, they are after all called "Mingos Burritos". I always say, if you do one thing really good, you don't need to do a whole lot of things somewhat good, and they make a really, really good burrito.

Still our very favorite we do the carne with chili and add queso it's the absolute best! There is…read moreenough seating to enjoy your food even with a baby! The service is fast and great.
