Truck no gallons of lard stacked outside like other taco trucks.
    Pamela M.

I was really excited to try this food truck! The lady working was just over-the-top sweet, helpful, and wished me a "blessed day" when I picked up my order at the window! I explained it was my first time here and she helped me make my selections with a smile! Based on long time Yelper C.M.F. [who's reviews I trust] and others, I tried the birria tacos and went with the "with queso" option per the lady who works there's suggestion - it's an order of 3 birria tacos, each with queso. Cooked onion slices, a lime for squeezing, a generous cup of consommé, and your choice of hot or mild sauce comes with an order. Hubs loves burritos and I got him a chicken burrito "add rice" when offered the option by the sweet lady. The to go order was ready when promised in 20 minutes and the truck was steadily busy with customers, many of whom were Hispanic, few were dining at the picnic style tables as most were getting to go orders. I chatted with a lady who was also waiting on her order, and she recommended the nachos, stating how "fresh and delicious" they always were. I'll have to go back and try some of those! Sadly, the birria tacos were not my thing. It was my first time trying them and I was excited based on their popularity and the high praise of TL's birria. I was expecting the meat to be flavorful like a chile verde in terms of depth of flavor; however, not the same spices, but some Mexican flavor. Although the texture of the taco meat was nice, it was devoid of flavor. I enjoyed the fresh cilantro, and the queso made the tacos extra rich. I was starving but could barely finish two due to the rich, density of the tacos. Each was reminiscent of a pot roast carelessly tossed in a Crock pot, without any seasonings at all. Maybe the green sauce [which is the mild one] would have helped with the flavor but there was a lot going on with the consommé, the queso, and the meat, and I didn't want to add to that busy party! Lesson learned - birria is not my personal jam. Hubs was delighted to have some take out brought home and split his sizeable burrito in two for two separate portions. I didn't realize I took all the sauce containers and left him without any [D'uh on my part!]. He said the burrito was bland. Again, maybe it needed the sauce, he just didn't know where I put it. Proportion wise, the burrito seemed evenly distributed among all the ingredients however, he thought it was a little heavy on the beans. I'll be excited to come back and try some other types of their tacos and the nachos in the future!

I miss the Punta Cana food truck that was here before but Luna has become one of my new favorite food trucks for tacos. They are very friendly and the tacos are excellent!

Ordered four different tacos and they were all delicious. The value for the money is also tough to beat. We fed three for around $10 apiece.

The service was really fast. I forgot to get the actual "mexican" name for the dishes we had. So here goes... I had Carne asada with bacon, peppers and onions. It was really delicious. It came with beans, rice and flour tortillas. My husband had steak, chicken and shrimp fajitas. This is why I gave 4 stars...it comes with chorizo but he didn't want that. He wanted the chorizo replaced with chicken. The waitress confirmed several times what he wanted. He also doesn't like rice, so he always gets no rice, extra beans. When he got his meal it had chorizo and he got rice and beans. We sent it back to get the chicken instead. We didnt send the rice back, my daughter ate it. His food was very tasty and came out sizzling. The steak was tender and cooked just right. My daughter had the birria tacos. She got 3 tacos, with dipping sauce. No beans or rice. They were also delicious. We finished our meal with fried ice cream and it didn't disappoint. Itw was crispy on the outside and frozen in the middle. It was served in a fried flour tortilla with caramel, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. It was big enough for all of us to share. We will definitely go back when we are in the area. The food was delicious but just a little disappointed that she didnt get the order right.

Their chips and salsa are fresh and delicious so are the drinks. Staff is also friendly and helpful esp the owner...she's a sweetheart. The decor is also pretty cool with some Cali vibes and sugar skulls.

First off, we thought it was closed at around 5:45 on a Wednesday. The interior is dark, the doors were dark, and we thought it was closed. It was actually open with a total of two guests dining in, who left shortly after we arrived. One guy was working and he was nice enough. We ordered a variety of tacos, the three (guac, salsa, and queso) tray with chips which was the highlight of dinner for me because I still like their guac, even though I think some fresh cilantro, more lime, and a little salt would amp it up. Sister liked the two tacos she got (I think we got 2 shrimp, 1 pork, and 1 chicken). Since the time change we were both sleepy and not really on top of our dining game and we both forgot about the very small "salsa bar" (my words, not theirs) where you can get your own lime quarters, and other stuff to add to your tacos. Also, it was weird the server guy didn't offer the ipourit wristband self-serve beverage option, even after I asked him about it. Instead, he had a split of Marlborough which we did get and it was very good, after offering us a split (or maybe by the glass?) of warm pinot grigio. Who even offers that? Sister had a bottled beer. When I tried the pork tacos, I kid you not, the pork tasted like last week's pot roast that sat under a heat lamp all. day. long. It was beyond shoe leather dry. Beyond the dryness it was absolutely flavorless. I gave up after a few bites. I noticed we were the sole folks dining there, and looked around and it was sad. There is, as another Yelper noted, a stage on the west side of the restaurant that is cluttered with stacks of various boxes - just not a good look. The small sized guacamole was the best thing we had. The queso was runny and flavorless and I wasn't interested in salsa. I really think the server should have mentioned the "salsa bar" as I would have use it to try to make the pork edible. As another Yelper noted, I really agree that the food quality and quantity has declined over the year and the staff seem apathetic. I wish Campus 805 offered a better variety of dining options, its basically these "tacos," sushi, pizza, and lots of bar food. Since I woke up this morning with a growling belly, in retrospect, we should have gone to Ale's kitchen for some heartier and more interesting bar food. Our bill was over 80.00 for 4 tacos, some chips and three small containers of dips/sauces plus the split of white wine and a bottled beer.

One day last week I saw they'd be stationed at Northrop Grumman while I was working nearby, so I made plans to go grab a meal. They were fairly busy with a bunch of NG employees, but I came towards the end of service and they were still working efficiently. My wait wasn't bad. The menu is fairly large for a food truck and has classic Thai offerings, from curry to Thai basil plates to noodle dishes like pad see ewe and drunken noodles. You can choose your protein for practically any dish: chicken, beef, pork, or shrimp for an upcharge. They even have fancier, more traditional drinks like Thai coffee and green tea. It's an impressive setup for a food truck. I initially asked for an order of red curry, but the lady working the window said they only had green curry that day. I'm not sure if they only run one curry at a time, or if they'd just run out of everything but green. Next, I asked for pad see ewe, but they had run out of noodles. That was a little disappointing, though perhaps it's on me for coming later during service. I ultimately wound up with Thai basil with chicken. It came served with white rice. I also ordered some mango sticky rice for dessert since the season is basically on us for mango! I got a diet soda to drink -- as much as I love Thai tea, I didn't want to gild the lily TOO much. My food came out quickly and was packaged beautifully and very neatly. It was clearly made fresh as it was also very warm! I returned to my car to nosh covertly before returning to work. The Thai basil was good -- it's not my go-to Thai dish, but it was a good bit better than a version I had not long ago at a different restaurant. Pleasantly aromatic, veggies were still crispy, most of the chicken was a good, non-rubbery texture. It went well with the delicate white rice. I forgot to ask for at least a level 2 spicy, which is the one thing I'd change about it -- as it was served to me, it was very mild, and I wanted some kick. I wish someone would've prompted me about spice level when I ordered, but it's ultimately on me. The mango sticky rice was a delicious treat as always. This version was served with a purple-y colored rice rather than white. It didn't taste much different to me but the color was pretty. My mango still had a few slightly sour bites but it was mostly great, and that's not their fault anyway. The rice itself was still warm and delightfully, subtly sweet. I'd definitely patronize this truck again. Would love to try a curry or a noodle dish someday in the future, though I enjoyed my meal enough that I'd also order it again!
