Four of us and we are all worried we may get sick from this food. Horrible isn't even close to what this was like. Drink station did not work. We paid for drinks. Asked to fix it. They did but still didn't dispense sodas. Asked to get cans out of fridge and they started to say no. Like we paid for a drink. Come on. Food came. ICE COLD. ALL OF IT. Fajitas, enchilada, quesadillas. HOW were they cold?? Cheese not even melted. Zero seasoning. Meat for each plate. Seemed CHARRED and tasted burnt. Also tasted rancid. Ended up spitting out the chicken into napkins. Yes. At the table. Gagging. Cold inside. Sterile feeling. Bad experience. Bad. I ordered 2 Carney Asada Burritos and a tostada Cameroon ($38) for my wife who was injured and couldn't come in because of a leg injury. We had just left the ER. After ordering, I went back out to the car, and my wife let me know that the shrimp would not sit well with her pain meds, so I immediately came back in to let the employee know that we didn't need the 8.50 tostada and could we please just exchange for 3 churros. She went back into the kitchen, came back out, and said it had already been made and that she could not exchange for anything else. I find it hard to believe that in the minute and a half it took to check the order with my wife that the Tostada was already made, yet the 2 Carney Assada Burritos still took 15 minutes. One of the worst Mexican food experiences I've had. I hate to leave an all negative review BUT there really is not much I can say to balance out the negative experience. First, there was no line when we arrived but somehow it took nearly 20 minutes to get our food. Their soda machine was out of syrup and they couldn't figure out how to replace the supply so we had to ask if we could get a different type of drink. The food was cold including the queso which was already geling on top when they brought it out ahead of our meals. The fajitas were overly seasoned and the chicken not edible. The only hot item was the flour tortillas. We left more of the meal than we ate. Super disappointing and definitely will not be back. read more

The plate looked good coming out. Rice and beans bland, but a squirt of that dark salsa will spice them right up! Salad was good, but that shouldn't be the highlight of a Mexican food place. We were on the road for almost 10 hours and were looking for good food. We decided on this place since reviews were pretty good. When we went in the place was empty and the lady taking orders was super nice. We ordered quesadillas birrias, enchiladas plate w/ rice and beans, lengua tacos. Lets break it down: The quesabirria tacos were ok. The tortilla was really flimsy and breaking down. Something that look like I can make myself (not a cook). It just made a mess. And the limes were hard and didn't give any juice. The enchiladas looked good but the cheese tasted a little off. Like it wasn't the right cheese for it. So we left it alone. Im not sure but the rice was good and beans were a little salty. Tacos Lengua, they were okay. What was a deal breaker for us- and why were giving 1 star. we were leaving and still having about an hour to drive we decided to use the restroom. The girl who is the waiter and handling food came out using the restroom after about 5mins which is okay but when we went to wash our hands there was NO SOAP! I'm a native Texan but I've lived in New Mexico, Arizona, S. California, and Colorado. This was probably the best Carne Asada I've ever tasted and I wasn't even very hungry. The service was great and friendly, clean, and nice, but the knockout was the taste of the food! My dad's a retired chef/restaurant owner who is extremely picky and he really enjoyed the chile relleno with zero complaints. The price was great too!!! It's more authentic Mexican cuisine so if you're stuck on Tex-mex, well, at the least try it. I will definitely be back for more Muchos gracias read more

Tried this place thanks to Yelp and it did not disappoint. The place is decent size but most people seem to order pickup. The tacos came out pretty quickly. You do not get a basket of chips and salsa so that was a bit of a bummer. Tacos were good although I wish they had been a little more toasted as the sauce was making them fall apart. Pretty good authentic Lil Mexican restaurant to find in Denton. Food was average prices and food was made delicious. Had ordered the birra burrito, fajitas plate and menudo. Soup was delicious and hit the spot for those who love Authentic Menudo.. with the cow knuckles and beef tripe with no hominy.. broth was flavorful and the taste of the hot soup.. warm your insides.. and soul on a cold rainy day!!!. Walking in the place looks authentic- shelved with Mexican coke, topo & jarritos. They have a selection of Mexican candy, chicharrones & snacks. It wasn't very busy and took a minute on our orders of tacos. The asada tacos were really good, along with the green salsa- though I wish the salsa was a little spicier. We have visited this restaurant multiple times and so far it's a good place to get a taco plate or any other general mexican meal. Keep in mind, sometimes this place is a hit or miss but mostly they make a good meal. We have tried the taco plate, good, comes with beans and rice / the burrito, tasty as long as you remove the shredded lettuce / the flautas, good and crispy / asada de puerco, pork in a red sauce, really good, brought my wife back to her childhood / Elotes in a cup, good, can use a little more mayo but still good / & Gorditas, maybe the cook was off that day, the meat was good but the outside was a little overcooked, maybe it will be better next time. The manager is super friendly! I love how this is a family run business and the staff caters to their customers. I hadn't had Birria Tacos in a while and was craving, so when i came across this location I was eager to test out their Birria. The tacos were a little on the soggy side and was messy to grab. I wish they had provided more Consume to dip the tacos in too. As you can tell in the pic it was just a little cup. I'm sure you can ask for more though. For me, this is more like 3 1/2 stars. They are new though, so the 4 star rating may solidify in a month or two anyway. I love taquerias, and it's my mission to know who has the best. But a taqueria that has the best barbacoa, may have terrible al pastor and one that has amazing al pastor, may have very dry pollo. This place didn't have my favorite of anything, BUT everything was pretty solid. That makes this a decent choice for anything you stop in for and that is the best reason to round up to 4 instead of down to 3. It took me a while to figure out how I feel about this place, so I made sure to visit 3 times and everything I'm reviewing, I have tried at least twice. Part of this may be because I wasn't blown away by any one thing, but I think it may have been too hard not to exclusively compare it to Taqueria Monterrey. As others have stated in their reviews, Miguelitos feels eerily similar from the colors to the menu layout to the prices. What it really comes down to for me personally, is a lack of consistency. At this point my visits have varied, but that's not unheard of with newer places. There is also the staffing to consider- our visits were a Sunday right after they opened, a Saturday after 10am and a late Thursday afternoon. Their agua fresca is pretty damn good and has been on all 3 visits. The melon was excellent and tasted fresh. I have also tried their horchata, which was pretty good, and their strawberry horchata which was interesting and strangely refreshing for a horchata. Service has varied some as well. Our first visit, in the early morning, service was kind of indifferent. However, on my second visit, I was blown away by how engaged and friendly the staff was. There were several mistakes on this visit, but they were quick to fix it. On our last visit, they were cleaning when we arrived and when we left. They were more reserved, but still friendly. I have gotten taco plates every single time, I love tacos! I recommend the #4, which is 3 tacos with rice, beans, a roasted jalapeno pepper and a fried potato. The 5 taco plate does not come with the rice and beans, so unless you're sharing or don't like sides, comes out to less of a deal for me personally. The first visit, there were quite a few more onions than I prefer and the second time there was way too much cilantro. On my third visit, I asked for the onions and cilantro on the side so I could put them on myself and will continue to do that at this time. You are offered corn or flour tortillas, but these are not made in house. It wasn't until my second visit that I was informed that they do make corn in house and you can get those for an upcharge if you ask. I believe it was $1.49, but that was when I got the 5 taco plate, so this may vary. They were too thin for some items on my second visit, but I ordered smarter on my third visit and they held up nicely. On my first visit, the beans were a little watery and didn't make much of an impression but on my third visit they were a very good consistency and very well seasoned. I've gotten the rice on all three visits. The flavor has been there on each visit, but there were slight variations in the cook. The first one was pretty good, the second was a little mushy and the third was excellent! The asada is far and away the best in flavor they have there. The seasoning was fantastic and tasty. However, to varying degrees on two visits, there were way, way too many hard and chewy bits. This is something my husband wouldn't mind, but I'm sensitive to chewy textures so I'll try it less often because it ruins the experience for me. These were held up well by the homemade tortillas. I would say everything else after the asada is on similar par in terms of flavor, but the close second would be the picadillo. The picadillo held up well in the homemade tortilla on my last visit, but it's heavier so I would suggest a gordita as something to consider. This was my second favorite in terms of flavor but my first favorite in consistency and cook, the beef and potatoes were both cooked well both times. Two other items that may be safer bets for a gordita are the carnitas and barbacoa. Both were very good on my first visit and held up well in the tacos. The next time the carnitas were very dry and the barbacoa very wet, and they both fell through the tortilla. The pollo and pastor were both kind of forgettable the first time I had them. Not bad, they just didn't stand out. They both stood out with decent flavor and texture the second time I tried each, but the pastor was sooo greasy that it got all over my plate. Again, the food is solid and stacks up nicely in the Denton taqueria scene, but I would expect the details of your visit to vary for the next couple of months. They might not have the best of anything yet, but all the food has ranked highly enough for an enjoyable meal overall, and that's an important factor to consider for me. read more

Okay so picture this. We have been renovating our house all afternoon and want somewhere cheap and quick to grab dinner. We get in the car and head towards Taco Bueno (I know I know I'm sorry). On our way, we spot Taqueria Miguelitos and decide it's only right to support this local shop instead of a giant chain. So we go in. Immediately we know it was the right decision. The seating is open and ample. It is much bigger than it seems from the outside. We're greeted at the counter and take a minute to look over the menu before ordering a #6 (quesadillas with your choice of meat) and several street style tacos. We also order chips and salsa to start. The drink selection is great - plenty of fountain drinks, tea, bottled sodas, and classic Mexican beverages like Topo Chico and Jarritos. I grab a topo and my husband gets unsweet tea. The chips and salsa were a great starter. The chips were fresh and crispy and the salsa tasted very fresh - although it could have been spicier. The tacos and quesadillas come and oh my lord it's the most perfect dinner after a hard day of work. The quesadilla is crispy on the outside and packed full of marinated pork (pastor) on the inside. It's served with a side of sour cream, guacamole, and salad (strips of lettuce and diced tomatoes). The street tacos remind us of the ones we ate in Mexico and are equally as delicious and full of tasty ingredients. These are served with a giant roasted jalapeño and a single potato. I don't know why it is like this in lots of authentic Mexican restaurants, but we like it. While we don't have a server, the people who worked there made sure to check on us and make sure everything was good. The service was great and I know we will be back! Here for a college visit and spotted this in a strip mall. Don't let unassuming outside fool you. You order at the counter and food is brought to your table. I got three street tacos, rice and beans for 6.99. You had several choices of meat...I tried asada, pastor and carnitas...all were tasty but by far carnitas were the best...pork was tender and delicious! I been looking for some good Mexican restaurants in Denton,TX and I stop at Taqueria Miguelitos and I WAS SO IMPRESSED. I'm from Houston so we're used to having taquerias in every corner but when I came to Denton it was harder to find good places. I tried their tacos, beans and rice and I was more than satisfied. I also tried their elote and I kid you not it's the best elote in Denton! Also the best part of my experience was the customer service I received. The man who took my order was so kind, and helpful to both me and my friend. He was very genuine and caring about us liking the food which we were very grateful for!!
