We tried this taqueria for the first time and were so impressed! The crispy tacos were incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. My boys ordered the kids quesadilla meals, which came with rice and beans, and they both loved every bite. The customer service was outstanding. The owner's daughter, Cristhal, was so welcoming, kind, and attentive. She even came by our table to chat with us and brought out a few samples of some of their most popular menu items so we could get ideas for what to try next time. That personal touch really made our experience special. The food was amazing, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. We will definitely be back soon. The pastor tacos were nice and flavorful with a kick on the finish. I'd order those again. The taco salad however- not sure that would be on the agenda. The carne asada had a mixed flavor of tasting like the actual grill blended with hamburger and the sour cream didn't do it for me. It wasn't "bad" or soured, but didn't taste like sour cream. The red sauce didn't have much flavor outside of feeling like a pepper was just blended to a sauce consistency with no added flavor. First time eating here since we moved to Manteca 3 years ago. I've heard great things about this restaurant we finally stopped in to order some burritos to go. As soon as we walked in the aroma was SO good. I smelled the spices and sauces oh my oh so good We ordered a couple of carne asada burritos and they were so tasty the flavor was perfect I believe more meat in these burritos than the rice and beans which was fantastic everything was perfect the size of the burritos were standard not like back in the day when you would buy a burrito in San Francisco and it was so big it was enough for days. I never thought in a million years I would ever find enchiladas that was so close to tasting and looking like my mom's, my mom was famous for her enchiladas and holy $hit I found them at Yvette's. They are 99% like my mom's, my mom always gets the 100%. We already been here twice and I always get the chicken enchiladas and my freaking gawd they tasted so good!!! The sauce and chicken is so good. I seen other customers entrees, the way they have their faces buried into their plates, tells me it's damn delicious. The service is personal, the owners work here and they are not in a rush so slow down and enjoy! The ambiance feels very similar to that of a taqueria in Mexico. Nothing fancy here! The food is absolutely delicious! True, authentic, freshly made, delicious food! Prices are tad on the high side compared to competitors, however this locally owned mom and pop shop can throw down with the food! $50 for two people including meals and non alcoholic drinks, just to give you an idea how much you should plan to spend. Rudy sold the place or partnered. He's no longer manning the counter and hanging up phones for call in orders. The place is cleaned up with fresh paint and a little update. The kitchen staff is still the same crew. The menu is the same. The service is faster. The food is sorta the same. The hot sauce is still spicy Buuut there is something missing. Something a little different. The taste of the food and hot sauce is just slightly not the same. The hard taco shell is not the same. Food isn't as salty. But not as yummy as I remember it. I'm not sure that I'd been to this place since the first year I'd lived in town. It was the first taqueria in town so many years ago. I've been walking to work lately and I have been looking for meals that weren't fast food. This is on the way. It was decidedly different since Coronavirus, ordering at the counter, and all. It looked about the same as it had in 2014. Was the food as good? I ordered an Enchilada meal--two beef enchiladas, rice, beans, and a drink--roughly $23. That's a lot. The lady behind the counter brought chips and salsa to the table. Their salsa is still amazing. The chips were fresh. Very quickly, she called for me to pick up my tray. I was surprised how quickly they could put together the enchiladas. Sitting to eat, the enchiladas tasted fresh and the meat was good. The rice and beans tasted just as fresh. The enchilada sauce is likely the best in town, although I haven't tried all of the restaurants. The $23 will keep this an occasional meal, but I should visit in a month or two. read more

They got new digital menus and a payment system that's is much more modern. The decor is mostly the same inside and out. Taqueria Yvette is another small hole in the wall place located adjacent to a Dollar General store. The food may look plain, but it's got it where it counts-it hits the taste buds. My order tip would be to get the tamale with red sauce. The tamale itself is 2X The normal size and can be ordered a la carte or with rice and refried beans. I took the meal and it's hearty. We shared a burrito, chimichanga and some tacos. It wasn't cheap, but it met our standards for good food and worth the visit. We will visit again. read more

I have been coming here for over 30 years, pretty much since Rudy opened the place. Food was great, service was great, and Rudy always had time to talk. Unfortunately he has semi retired and taken on partners that are rude as can be. Came in on April 4, 2025 at 3:30pm and the woman working then was great. Unfortunately she is the exception not the rule. Came in today, 4/18/25 at just after 11am and the woman running the cash register was so rude and condescending that I left without ordering. I won't be back. I'm hearing the same from many people. And it's all over the nasty attitude of the majority of the staff. You guys are destroying Rudy's legacy. read more

A decent spot to come check out a hole-in-the-wall. I got their carne asada burrito without beans and pork tamale (they only have kind). Took a while to place orders but food comes out fast. And the cashier was super friendly. Definitely a locals spot cuz he seemed to have a bunch of regulars. The salsa has a little kick to it, so that was a plus. The outer layer of the tamale was thick but good. I liked the sauce on top. The burrito was very disappointing. It had a lot of meat but no flavor. The onions and cilantro were more on the ends of the burrito instead of being distributed throughout the burrito. Rice and beans were flavorful. They also have spicy red sauce (that's actually spicy). All in all, $17.29 was a bit hefty for what I got... That too being in Manteca. At the recommendations of a fellow foodie we decided to get out of the heat and enjoy a sit down dinner that is served to us. Called ahead and after several rings I learned that they were open, last "call" is 7:45, dine in available and they have A/C. There is nothing fancy, fusion or hipster about the place. Located in the back of an old shopping center with a neighborhood bar, liquor store and light fixture shop for neighbors, I would've never tried the place if I didn't have a recommendation and yelp reviews for endorsement. First bite and I was reminded of homey Mexican food that tasted like it was made by someone's tia or abuelita. We're not talking fine dining nor is this Mexican food made with adobo sauces or roasted peppers. Their enchilada sauce is more a gravy made with what tasted like tomato sauce, flour, chili powder and broth. The Hubbs loved it! Disclaimer, he also misses the enchirito from Taco Bell. I was jonesing for a tamale so I ordered the combo plate with a tamale and beef enchilada. The Hubbs got a crispy beef taco and cheese enchilada and the babes got a beef & bean burrito. This was the first time in a long time that the Hubbs had an empty plate, the Babes also ate all her rice and beans, which is high praise for my peeps. The folks are friendly, service was fast and they did extra details like provided water glasses and enchilada cheese sauce for the babes instead of salsa. I wouldn't say I loved the food but I definitely liked the homey taste and will definitely be back. The food is more on the mellow side which is obviously catered to the clientele. Rudy must have sold the taqueria. It's not quite the same anymore. Although it looks really nice inside. I feel like it lost it's hole in the wall touch. I wasn't greeted by my favorite swapping stories about how he remembers when I was a little girl walking in there. The food is slightly different too. The salsa seems watered down and my taco was pretty dry. The red salsa in my taco was so spicy it burnt my mouth which is rare since I eat pretty spicy food. The chip portion was a lot smaller than it used to be. I don't think I'll be returning for my weekly date night. You can make a place look as pretty as you want but you shouldn't lose what made a restaurant an experience. At least keep the food the same and it might get by. But too much change and now it's just like all the other 1,000 taquerias in town, sadly. read more

5* to the tamales plate, and the friendly owner! This is NOT your ordinary tamales that are dry, all masa, and very little meat! I told that to the owner who acknowledged that tamales tend to be like that. He tells me that he and his wife make the masa thin, put in plenty of pork, and make sure the meat is moist. Then comes the sauce over the tamales. Different, but delicious. Everything is moist and not dry. The sauce is mild, so if you want it spicy just grab the squeeze bottle on the table and add as much spiciness as you like. This was a great meal. Something different to eat than all the other regular stuff I usually order in a Mexican restaurant or taqueria. If your in Manteca, come & try it. Its worth trying. read more

We were on a road trip with several friends and discovered this nice little Mexican restaurant in a small strip mall. We were all very hungry and thirsty and couldn't wait to try out the food. The wall menu had so many delicious sounding options available, that it made choosing difficult. The staff were friendly and welcoming as we each placed our orders with sometimes confusing preferences. But they managed to get all of our orders right without a hitch! I ordered a chile relano dinner that included refried beans, Spanish rice and corn tortillas. Everyone else ordered a variety of dishes. I can't remember them all, but each dish was presented in an appetizing manner. First time at Taqueria Yvette. Small cozy place that has friendly service and regulars. I ordered the Burrito and wondered if there was two variations, since there was B&C next to burrito on the menu. But I later found out the burrito only comes with beans and cheese, a fist full of meat and garnishes of onions and cilantro. The red salsa they have is pretty spicy, but that's just it. It was all spicy and drowned out the flavor of the meat and beans. I expected some rice in my burrito but there was none. Was I suppose to order it with rice? I feel like when rice is missing then the balance is off. There was way more meat than there should have been. I also expected fresh pico de gallo salsa in the burrito. Overall I was a little disappointed, at home I added some sour cream to give the meat some moisture. On the other hand my boyfriend was really disappointed. He ordered the Pastor Burrito but felt like it was a sloppy Joe texture, instead of the nice authentic grill and chopped up preparation. It was all a mush and flavorless. Food seems to be hit and miss lately, I really noticed the difference in the tamale I ordered recently.

Had to satisfy our Tamale urges, and the Tamales at Taqueria Yvette are the ONLY way to go! My wife ordered a Tamale/Chicken Enchilada plate and I ordered 2 Tamales ala carte with 2 sides of flour tortillas. While we waited for our order to be served, we started with tortilla chips and a cup of Awesome, fresh spicy salsa that we chased with our self serve bottomless fountain sodas. You choose from fountain, bottled drinks or bottles of beer. Our order was served with a smile, piping hot and so delicious! Now, the entire menu is delicious, authentic Mexican fare, and we haven't been disappointed in the many, many, many years that we have been dining in or taking out. Now while I don't claim to be a Tamale connoisseur, I KNOW what I like, and Taqueria Yvette is my little slice of Heaven. This used to be my very favorite restaurant for Mexican food. Food's good owner funny, we frequented this place of business on regular bases. I must say that the info on this website is no longer accurate. First, they changed the hours and now they close for 2 hours every afternoon, mostly when we go out to eat. Recently I got some food to go and I was floored when I saw their prices. Practically everything is about 50% higher than recently. Don't believe these pictures, they show the old prices. The food at Taqueria Yvette reminds me of what it'd be like to have a home cooked meal from a real "abuela" while sitting around and sharing laughs and stories. This isn't a knock on the restaurant whatsoever. In fact, this feeling of "home" is one that resonates with me. I'm not Mexican, but I've eaten enough of their food to become an honorary one and I feel like this is more traditional home cooking than some of the other spots in Manteca. The people are very nice and friendly. The ambience isn't anything amazing, but it's comfortable if you choose to dine in. The prices are a little higher than other Mexican options in Manteca, but you can also rest assured knowing you're going to get a meal that tastes authentic and home cooked instead of something that gets reheated from a freezer. None of the consignments you would expect. In addition I had requested green salsa and got red salsa on my tacos.i It was just plain hot with flavors lacking. Also their aquas frecas are artificial. We are so lucky to have so many mom and pop style taquerias in California where the people put their hearts and souls into their cooking. While they are usually not set in modern buildings with a lot of money spent on furniture and atmosphere, you can usually expect to get some great down home, unassuming Mexican food at its finest. Taqueria Yvette is a perfect example. We ordered at the register as you would expect in a taqueria. There were six of us ordering separately. At first I did not understand when the girl behind the counter said she would put our orders together. While charging us separately and then placing the orders together, they came out of the kitchen at the same time which was a really nice touch. Dishes mounded with heaping portions of tacos, cheese enchiladas and chili rellenos along with sides of rice and beans were served on plastic platters, their heavy ceramic plates still so piping hot as to receive a warning by our server. I personally ordered chili verde with flour tortillas. The chunks of pork were nice sized and the sauce was really good but unfortunately the pork was a little on the dry side. The rice had good flavor but the refried beans were the star of the show. It is not very often that I even like refried beans enough to eat them. The idea that I almost wanted to ask for more tells you just how good they were. Everyone else seemed to love their food and there was a general consensus that we would all love to return the next time we were in the area. read more

Hands down the best al pastor tacos, it was so good I had to order another taco. Their cheese enchilada is amazing, their cheese is so gooey and their enchilada sauce is so creamy! And I can't forget to mention their red salsa, I love spicy and I especially love an amazing salsa that pairs so well with tacos! I can't get over how good it is! Will definitely come back!
