There are boulders to climb, outdoor musical instruments to play, a treehouse to play pretend in (and is wheelchair accessible!), a merry-go-round, swings, a traditional playground structure with slides, and lots more. The playground area is lined with wood chips. There is also lots of space to run around, and lots of trees. Like the name of the park suggests, this is a very sensory-friendly park, and there are nature stations set up all around where you can use your senses to explore. There is also a short, paved trail that goes around the park, which is wide and smooth enough for strollers and wheelchairs. The trail goes by a creek, which is nice. As of right now, this is the only sensory-friendly park in the state of Ohio! It's definitely worth a visit.

Along the path are a variety of interactive stations that are also designed to be accessible. If you start near the entry sign, you'll find a Little Free Library, which, on our recent visit, was loaded with a lot of great kids options. Just ahead is a variety of benches and a little music garden, featuring musical instruments that can be played, and you can also interact with the Rough Bark Tactile Display to learn more about different tree barks. A little further down are the cutest animal looking instruments that can also be used. As you continue down the path, you find a swingset with a variety of swings that include both traditional and accessible options. There's a nice little shaded bench area with information about the creek, Fetter's Run, that can be seen from the location. As you proceed along, a very exciting find is the Treehouse, which is built within the forest trees as opposed to up in one, which allows a wheelchair ramp to make it accessible. This overlooks the creek and has things to explore, like neat nature art and a second floor (not accessible) with a fire pole. At the end of the path is a shelter house with picnic tables and nearby grills. Most, if not all, of the signage included Braille translations, as well. There is a large parking lot here, but I do note that this is located behind a school, so I'm not sure how that would affect parking for a visit during a school day.

Plenty of hiking / walking trails. The pool is not heated and we were there early in the season so it was still too cold for us. The hot tub was great, but could use a little TLC. It is plenty big (made by the residents themselves!). I had to rewrite the brakes in our trailer while there and not one person complained, in fact one of the residents lent me some tools! It's a little rustic and could use an infusion of money to improve the maintenance; however all-in-all a great place. Check out the nearby Serpent Mound park! We will definitely stay there again!

This was a fascinating place to learn about, with the key information being that it is a unique…read morewetland environment, as indicated by the fact that it is a fen as opposed to a standard wetland. Fens have a different water type, spring water, as opposed to other wetlands, resulting in its ability to support some additional plants and animals that can't be found in the others. The set up is quite nice, with a lot of wonderful boardwalks and overlooks permitting some good views of the Kinnikinnick Creek and oxbow wetlands. There's a nice large parking area with an information booth and map (as a side note, I love the design of the Ross County parks maps; they are both useful and appealing to look at!). We initially headed down a short trail that led to two boardwalk/observation areas, and then we headed around to the main trail, which offers another three observation areas and allows one to meander through the woods, meadow, and some recovering former agricultural fields that were planted with wildflowers. It's very scenic and fun to explore!

The beach was filled with their droppings and loose feathers. There's a public restrooms, some picnic tables and benches, spacious parking lots to accommodate school groups or large family gatherings. Of course, being on a water is very relaxing. There's a marina in the parking premise, so it makes it very convenient to rent canoes, kayaks and motor boats. I think they have two-hour minimum for rentals.

If u are going to tackle the more challenging trail, I suggest you wear something better than running shoe, because surface can be slippery, especially on the Grandma Gatewood trail and whispering cave trail Best time to come is during rainy season or after a big storm, because the water flows are higher. Otherwise you might just see a small trickle from the waterfalls.

Plenty of bridges and paved areas. You can really make your Hocking Hills experience as intense as you'd like. With features such as Old Man's Cave and a creek with several water falls, you do not want to miss this park. My personal favorite season to visit is autumn, watching the trees shed their colorful leaves. Gorgeous views, great photo ops, and fun for the whole family. Not to mention free parking.

There's a nice, paved decently sized parking lot available now.
