As soon as I walked into the office, I knew I was going to get the worst customer service. One very rude woman came out from behind the glass window and kicked everyone out of the office area that wasn't a vehicle registration/title to leave. There was a poor woman in crutches who was told for the third time that she could not grab anything from he impounded vehicle and had to come back with someone because she was not allowed to drive it out with her bad foot. She ended up calling the police, who was able to help her. I ended up being quoted a price$500 a tow and storage fees for 2 days. When i went back the next day, they charged me another $75. They even gave my tow truck driver a hard time. I was told by the women behind the counter that i couldn't leave the office after I paid her $575, and had recipient in hand, or she would keep my vehicle in the yard. I lost it. Super disappointed that my daughters car was totaled while her grandpa was driving it. The car went here. Tracy treated my daughter like a second class citizen when she came to retrieve her things. I understand rules need to be followed HOWEVER you should not be an ass. She was already emotional from losing her car she didn't need this stress. This place is a complete joke! We were told the car was toed here, once we got here they said they had no record of the car being here. After calling around we realized it was in fact there. After coming back two days later they had magically gained some record of the car. Once we were able to come and pick the car up (the amount had been increased due to unexplained admin fees) after paying the money and walking out to the lot the gentleman walking me out did not have the keys. He asked if we were given the keys when checking out and we had not received any. After looking inside the keys were still in the car minus one. We had to go back in to retrieve one of the keys that was taken off during the initial check in process. If this place would take as much pride in their work as they do in closing at 4:58 it may be a good place. But their lack of people skills as well as organization causes them to suck. BEWARE OF TARA WRECKER...If I could rate without any stars, I would!!! Tara Wrecker is VERY unprofessional, rude, and racist. Even my 6 yr old son said that their actions were unnecessary. I will NEVER have my car towed to their establishment again. They told my beau that they discarded our bumper and hadn't even had our car for 10 hours yet. My beau was furious, as he should, being that the car is OUR property and apart of the investigation for the adjuster. When the "manager" came out, he never tried to find out from us what the issue was, instead, he was extremely rude and told us to get out of his establishment and do not come back without Clayton County police. Our vehicle is in our company's name and we provided a lease of the vehicle reflecting that, but, they said they need to see the owner....WE are the owners, our ID and paperwork wasn't sufficed, it was overlooked. They still needed more proof. Once we went back in with the officer, the manager still had such an indignant attitude telling us that we had to get out. He completely fabricated what actually took place before authority arrived and then said that the bumper was behind the car the entire time, mind you when he went to look at the car and there was no bumper and the employee told him that it was discarded. When the officer tells you that they get called up there a lot, mostly for minorities, then you know that company has some ethical issues. They all need management and ethical classes!!! They are the worst wrecker company ever. My car was in an accident and was towed by them to their facility. I then had them tow it to my house. I specifically told them where to put the truck when they got to my house. They dropped the truck in the middle of my driveway and they are telling me they cannot do anything about because my son was there. I did not tell my son to direct them where to put the truck, I told them. They said they cannot do anything about it. Really!!! Terrible customer service. The most undermining and rude people I have encountered. Not only were they upset that they were questioned about their own policies and procedures but they were very inconsistent with the information that they were giving us in order to get our vehicle back. We ultimately had to call the police to come and speak to the lady so that we could go back into our vehicle which ultimately resulted in us being able to retrieve our registration. The entire staff is unfamiliar with their own policies and procedures and are very untactful in their approach with dealing with people. I highly recommend that no one uses Tara wrecker services and if you are forced to do so make sure you have all necessary documentation when dealing with the ignorance of the staff that is there. Predatory towing. Just showed up at accident site and asked for my key. I assumed that the police called them because I was surrounded by police officers and other emergency personnel. The guy said give me your key, your car is not driveable. The next day (a Saturday) I was told $215 dollars of which $125 was for a police impound and other assorted fees to get my car. Monday, the police know nothing about a police impound and the cost is now $270. Now they are refusing to release my car which they illegally and under false pretenses took. They say it was a private tow (taking advantage of people- you reap what you sow) and I need all types of paperwork to get it back. Warning: Do not use Tara Wrecker. The shop I use for repairs on my trucks used them to tow one of my vehicles. They destroyed the front end of my unit by chaining it up underneath. They then agreed to pay for the repairs and then only paid for part of it. These people are crooks and I would never recommend them to anybody. You are either a man of your word or you are not. Complaint Type: Service Issues Description of Complaint: I give them 0 stars. This is the most disgusting establishment I have encountered thus far. My car was towed on 9/3/2016 by Tara Wrecker located at 9140 Turner Rd Jonesboro Georgia 30236. When I received my car, I was missing all four of the original Continental 205/55r16 brand new tires that were issued through Willet Honda when I first purchased the car in December of 2015. I asked an employee to pull my car off the lot for me, he told me employees were not allowed to go in the customer's car. However, when he was guiding me on how to back out, he had no problem putting his hand in my car to maneuver my steering wheel. This is clearly against protocol. Before I could pull the car off the lot, I noticed an unfamiliar sound as if something was being dragged underneath my car. Once I got off the rocky terrain onto a paved road in the front of Tara Wrecker Inc., I asked my fiancé, who is very familiar with my car and machanical work, to investigate the issue. I was then instructed by him and a witness present at the time that my exhaust heat shield had been bent and dragged under my car. It was covered with grass and mud and other debri. There were new scratches on the front of my car. As well. I was hurt that in the care of this establishment, my property was damaged and there was no personnel available to discuss what happened and how to proceed with covering the damage. I spoke with Robert who was an associate on duty at the time. He was unruly, belligerent, disrespectful, unkind, aggressive and extremely confrontational. There was a witness there to verify everything. My fiancé and also attest to the condition of my car before it was towed. Once I got home, I spoke with Mark who claimed to know nothing of my issue and told me to call back the next business day at 8:00am to speak with the women at the front desk. My car is missing all its original tires, a hubcap. It has new scratches and damages to the bottom of the car. I want my car in the original condition it was in before it was towed. I also want this establishment investigated. I am appalled by Clayton County. Desired Settlement: Refund Desired Outcome Description: I want to be refunded for the repairs I will need to have done to my car. I need it restored in the condition it was in before being towed. I want the original tires and hubcaps put back on my car or a set of new ones the brand that comes with the car when you purchase it. I want those employees investigated and fired when found guilty of their crimes. I want whomever is responsible for allowing this establishment to run investigated. Was not clear on procedures for personal item removal from vehicle upfront. Would not let me stay in office with my wife while we took care of proof of ownership paperwork. Would not let me go to the vehicle even though I wrecked it to retrieve personal items although my wife was present and she is the registered owner. They required a letter from my insurance company before allowing us to retrieve belongings which is unheard of even after my insurance company called them and generated the required letter. I would not recommend nor will I ever use this service. This is coming from a 3 time Iraq vet who is all about professionalism and esprit de corp! Parked at walmart, ran inside and bought a printer and paper, came out about 40 minutes later and truck was gone. They appearantly opened my hood and decided that the motor was cold so assumed I was there overnight. Walmart was also to blame so they paid for my taxi ride and the release of the truck. I got to the yard and they were snoughty with my boss. I would not recommend this place. read more
