BEST Customer service and quality of work I have ever received! I would recommend them to everyone…read moreI know. From organizing to cleaning it was seamless. ****MUST TRY! ****

I had a bad experience using this company a couple of months ago. Christina came by and gave me an…read moreestimate of $650 to organize and thoroughly clean my 700 square ft., one bedroom apartment. I was desperate so I said okay. Just one person did most of the work "organizing" the kitchen. Ended up being everything moved somewhere else so now, 2 months later, I still cannot find things! If I move one thing, everything else falls off the shelf. Way too much crammed under the sink where I have to get down on the floor to try to find something. Once I have found it, I just leave it on the counter for future use until I can reorganize where everything is in the kitchen. She also went through 3 closets, 2 in the bedroom and one in the entry. Wedged all my clothes, summer and winter, into one closet with other boxes and various items. Then stacked everything else in the second closet. I've had to separate the clothes so as to be able to get to clothes I need. This person worked very hard with no one else helping her. Several other people came by and helped move some furniture to another room. The young woman who came to "organize and clean the bathroom," was rather sullen and just jammed everything together under the sink and on bottom shelves where towels should go so I am still trying to sort out and locate items in the bathroom. She did not listen to anything I told her. Bathroom cleaning was very superficial and she left. The main worker and the young woman who came to clean the bathroom did help me move some boxes to my nearby storeroom. The person who did most of the work had to rush to try to finish up which meant no real cleaning, just quick brush of dust cloth on the front of shelves, no cleaning off cabinets, doors, woodwork, etc., as had been part of the deal. Quick run over the carpet with my vacuum which is very lightweight. Owner was back by 1:30 PM or so on the second day, rushing the young woman to finish up so they could leave, but not doing anything herself except giving me the bill for $654 and running my credit card. By that time, all I wanted was them out of my house just as badly as she seemed to want to get out. I did tell the owner that I thought she seriously underestimated the amount of time the work would take, as well as the number of people needed to do the quality of work promised (but not delivered). I had no idea there was a time limit on how long workers would/could be here. I thought the time would be however long (within reason) it took to do a good job. I just wasted $654 which is a lot of money to me as I live on my retirement. Would not recommend this company unless and until they get more employees who have specific training in organizing and the kind of cleaning they promise, as well as the proper tools.

i spoke to Southern Estate sales about working for me. i had been waiting months for her to have…read morethe estate sale and she sent me an email stating she wanted a key. When I replied I didn't feel comfortable giving a key and would be able to open house whenever needed or give a code she sent me and email stating she didn't want to do business with me. I told her that I didn't think it was that big of a problem and she never even replied back. I don't think this is the way to do business. I see the other complaints about her and glad I didn't use her.

I want to highlight a few positives that we experienced. ·…read more Very easy to communicate with · Responded quickly to requests / questions · Our initial concerns were addressed and I felt like we were in knowledgeable hands · Felt good knowing we had a certified appraiser leading sale Everything started out well. We had learned of Southern Estate Sales from a friend who had a good experience with them. Somewhere in the process things changed and we became very disappointed their actions and effectiveness of the estate sale. Southern Estate Sales did not adequately support the auction in number of bidders or in the contents of the lots. Dawn Racca, owner of Southern Estate Sales, represented that an onsite Estate Sale would have 200 people waiting outside the door on the first day of the sale. We were asked if we would be willing to do an online auction versus onsite. I inquired as to which would have more response and Dawn Racca said definitely an online auction would have more activity so we chose the online auction instead. The online auction was abysmal. Only 176 of the 354 lots actually sold. Dawn was only able to draw 40 active bidders to the online site and of those 40 biddders at least 8 were family members. Basically Dawn brought in 32 active bidders - a huge difference from the 200 people waiting at the door if it were an onsite estate sale. In our initial dealings with Dawn, she had indicated that we should not have trashed several items and that we probably threw away items that would have sold. She pointed out a few items during the walk thru that would sell well. However, there were many items in the house, workshop, and outdoor kitchen that were not included in the auction, even some of the items she explicity pointed out that would sell well. There were a couple of vintage items (cast iron antique irons with detachable wooden handle and 6 cast iron antique claw feet from an old bathtub) that were grouped with general items. The lot was titled Seasonal Items and the description of the lot contained absolutely no mention of any of the vintage items. Similar vintage items recently sold on eBay for $75 - $125. There are approximately 20+ missing Barbie Dolls that were listed in the online auction that received no bids and did not sell. I brought this up to Dawn and she said they were there when she left. I asked if she took inventory before leaving and she replied no that she did not. Smaller issues but still not acceptable for a business - food containers and bags of take-out food trash were left in the house, there were 2 bags of general trash from the auction activity that were left in the house, and there were toys /trinkets scattered across the floor. It was like there was no respect for the property.
