Dr. Tarazi and his staff went above and beyond to help us with an urgent situation that came up the night before Thanksgiving, when we landed in the ER with instructions to follow up ASAP with a specialist. We could not find anyone open Friday after the holiday, and resorted to leaving a message, expecting to struggle through the weekend and hear back on Monday. How pleasantly surprised we were to get a call back from Dr. Tarazi's staff same day! I wish I had written down her name - she was incredibly helpful and efficient. As it turns out, the offices were closed but he was there working on charts, and offered that we come in. I was astounded, we weren't even established patients with the practice and he was willing to take the time to see us last minute - we were told to come right in. The compassion and care he showed towards my nervous and uncomfortable young adult was beyond anything we have recently experienced. The situation was handled, he was thorough and knowledgeable. We are clearly not just a face or number in this practice, he genuinely cares about his patients. Though this review is quite belated, I want to add my very positive comments about Dr. Tarazi. His expertise repaired the consequences of a life-threatening infection & somewhat botched emergency surgery in 2009 (another doctor!). I was blessed to find Dr. Tarazi, who 100% corrected these complications with several procedures over the next year. He patiently explained the treatment options, outlining the pro's & con's of each strategy, and guided me to the right decisions. What a professional doctor. If you want an objective diagnosis and complete explanation of your problem, the options and professional option on the options, this is the doctor for you. He covered everything, was easy to understand and his only interest seemed to be to help me find the solution for my problem that worked best for me. Fortunately, I won't need a surgery or nothing more then an ointment for treatment. No follow-up visit unless I feel it's needed. Objective and Honest. He's not building a retirement by making you come back unless it's totally needed. Outstanding doctor, wish we had more like him. Lots of forms to fill out and sign but worth it. read more

This doctor cancelled my husband's surgery 24 hours prior to surgery. He refused to file a claim with our insurance, Blue Cross Blue Shield. He demanded payment upfront. He stated he didn't want to be bothered with the insurance company. We can only assume the amount he contracted with BCBS was less than the credit card fee he charged. Clearly my husbands health and welfare were not as important as the $$$. He has unethical business practices. BEWARE!!!! Any doctor who runs the credit card through the machine himself should be suspect of unethical behavior. read more

I recently had pain that I thought was Hemorrhoids. I was in alot of pain for about 4 days. I had trouble walking and sitting etc. I finally decided to go to a Dr to get them treated. I called the office on thursday morning and they were able to see me 3 hours later. He took a look and told me that I had an abcess not Hemorrhoids. It needed to be drained and I might have a possible fistula. I was in the operating room less than 24 hours later. I did have a fistula after all. He repaired it and drained the abscess. I am now 2 days post op and feeling lucky that Dr Tarazi was able to diagnose the problem and take care of it so promptly. My understanding is that if this went untreated it could cause loads of complications. I was not thrilled with the office staff however, not anywhere near the level of the Dr as far as professionalism. I was also surprised that I still haven't gotten a call asking how I am doing after my surgery either from the office or the surgery center. I am not having any issues and was told if I call the Dr would answer my questions personally which I totally believe. My opinion, Dr Tarazi get a better office staff. Your too good a surgeon not to be backed up by the best office staff. I totally recommend Dr Tarazi. He explained the situation and the possible complications to me before the surgery. First, full disclosure I am a doctor. I credit Dr. Raed Tarazi with saving my life. A year ago I became infected with an intestinal infection, Clostridium difficile, "C. difficile" from antibiotics prescribed by a dentist that followed an extraction. The infection recurred several times, and I lost over 30 pounds. I had been hospitalized, and prescribed antibiotics several times, but the infection kept recurring. The infection took its toll on my physical and mental health as well, and I grew gravely ill, and was dying. Dr. Raed Tarazi notabily performs a procedure, Fecal Microbiome Transplant (FMT) that is FDA approved for recurrent and/or life threatening clostridium difficile infections. I phoned his office as last resort, to see if I could be a candidate for this FMT procedure, as my gastroenterologist had been unresponsive and was not experienced in this procedure. Dr. Tarazi and his staff had me scheduled in their office for an initial consult within 24 hours, and scheduled with Honor Health's Endoscopy unit within 4 days for the FMT procedure. The procedure was 100% successful and thankfully I made a full recovery. Dr. Tarazi was thorough during the initial consultation, took his time, and explained all of the pros and cons of the procedure. He did not sugar coat my condition, but for the first time in 6 months having been seriously ill, I felt hope again, and I knew I was in expert care. Dr. Tarazi also explained to me that he is responsible for getting the Honor Health System in Phoenix, Arizona approved to perform the FMT procedure. Since that time, I have returned for several post op checks, and have always been met with a high degree of professionalism by he and his staff. I have also referred two patients, like myself who had recurrent Clostridium difficile infection. For those who are skeptic about their business practices, Dr. Tarazi micro manages every aspect of his private practice, I appreciate this in a surgeon. I am indebted to him. When they are busy, he will run the co-pay through the credit card machine. He's trying to stay on time. His wife, is the office manager and may be on the phone, they don't want to keep anyone waiting at the front desk. They also pay particular attention to infection control, very clean office, and follow COVID guidelines so everyone is safe. I have never had to wait past my appointment time -- this is a highly organized medical practice. If you are someone who is struggling with recurrent clostridium difficile infection, I would advise you to have a consult with Dr. Raed Tarazi. Dr. Tarazi is a compassionate and skilled surgeon. He had the courage to take my case knowing it was not ordinary and would be very difficult. Other Dr's were unwilling and simply passed me off saying there was little they could do. I knew at the time they simply did not want to take the risk. I am so grateful Dr. Tarazi decided to invest in me. He has made my life immeasurably better. I am sure even he doesn't know how much, but I do. In addition, to his compassion, he was easy to reach and responded immediately to my questions and my fears as I recovered. I am writing out of sheer relief that I found Dr. Tarazi again. I am so grateful that he retains his same office location in Scottsdale. When I was around 57 I went to him when I bled from hemorrhoids and my PCP recommended him. I am in the same scenario again and I am now 74. He is a gentle, knowledgeable genius in my estimation. He performs a simple sounding solution with a tiny band on the tissue that is problematic and it is corrected immediately. No more blood for many years! I cannot praise him enough for his professional, kind and efficient treatment. I know he also performs more complicated procedures but he is simply the best proctologist I know of! read more

At first I found him to be okay, not the greatest. The procedure he performed went south after 3 days. I went back and then he suggested a more invasive surgery. I was on a serious time restriction due to upcoming prostate cancer treatment. His scheduler apparently didn't understand my predicament, nor did the doctor. He was unsympathetic and inflexible. He cancelled me out of his practice because he heard second hand that I was "rude" to his assistant. He wouldn't listen to me. I don't need a doctor that is impatient and not sympathetic. read more
