If you make an appointment here, expecting to see the "Best of Phoenix doctor", just forget about it! You'll be shoveled off to a "physician's assistant'. You will not get to see the "real doctor". Wouldn't you expect the MD of the office to personally do your first exam and then pass you off to a PA?? I did! Silly me! The only time I saw the MD was when I pulled up in the parking lot and saw him walking in the parking lot. Best of Phoenix MD???? No. Front office was great, nothing done about my insomnia. Just wanted to update my review to add that Moon Valley Health is just as bad at releasing medical records as they are at taking care of patients! They told my new doctor's office they no longer had records from 2017-2019, which they're legally required to retain for at least six years under AZ-12997. Then they told me they DID have the records, but couldn't release them without a signed form. We'd already sent them a signed form two months ago. For the sake of their former patients who don't have the energy for the many follow-ups required, I do hope they find a way through their constant, ongoing struggles with even the most basic clerical tasks. (Not surprised that Moon Valley Health tried to blame their clerical failings on the quality, professional, and competent facility that they can't keep up with.) This clinic is not currently accepting new patients, but I wanted to post a series of warning for when they do: 1. The "same or next day care" this place charges an $80 annual fee for isn't guaranteed; when I was in desperate need of an X-ray I was told I had to wait three days. (So much for avoiding urgent care.) I was recently told it would take upwards of three months for a non-emergency appointment. An office staffer told me she, too, has had to wait multiple days for a doctor when she had a fracture so it seems that this may not be a one-off but something they think is acceptable. (No word on if she pays an extra fee for her doctor's office to pretend to see her more quickly than they actually could.) I recommend saving some money for urgent care because being told you have to wait three days to even get an x-ray for a fracture really sucks (even without paying additional money for the privilege). 2. I'm not sure if this is due to overwhelm or simply a lack of concern for his patients, but the doctor will often stall for months, telling you to wait weeks to see if something goes away on its own, then try over the counter meds for weeks, etc. before finally prescribing something (or an assortment of things). Major "call me in a month if you don't feel better" energy. I guess there's really no point in having a next-day appointment if you're basically ignored. It almost feels like not having health insurance or a doctor at all. Well, except that free clinics will actually see you and diagnose you instead of stalling for weeks or months. (Free clinics are amazing! Everyone deserves this type of quality care.) 3. The entire clinic is pretty disorganized; we're talking filling the wrong gender out on forms, sending prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy, forgetting to send blood work orders, and not leaving messages they say they've left. The good news is that it's always nice to look at the paperwork more closely than the doctor does to realize you don't an abnormal blood test result but are actually just a different gender. I get that mistakes happen but nobody at Moon Valley Health has ever taken responsibility for their comedy of errors. I am not a doctor, but I feel like there should be some accountability if one leads you to believe that you have a chronic disease because they filled their paperwork wrong. I think if I made someone think they'd die young because I was struggling with a basic form, I would send them a pizza, or a potted plant. 4. Because they are so small they quickly run out of some of the shots they recommend. I don't have a problem with this because drug stores are a dime a dozen, but when I think of all the time I've spent doing Moon Valley Health's work for them, it really does add up. Though I suppose I've established that the time-wasting portion of this clinic's subpar care is basically my fault for not going to urgent care or a free clinic. So to recap, my tips are: 1) don't get sick or injured when the doctor's busy, 2) when you do get sick, make sure it's something that will go away on its own if he's busy that quarter, 3) save up extra money for urgent care, 4) make sure to squint and look at weird bloodwork results for doctor errors, 5) bake in some extra time to wait in the pharmacy, both for the shots this clinic runs out of and for the doctor to figure out how to send prescriptions to the correct location, 5) learn to read minds so you'll know what's going on when these mysterious messages don't go through. (They also have very strange hours.) Aside from the poor care, disorganization, dismissiveness, and gaslighting, the doctor is very funny and will make lots of jokes about man colds! They also sometimes have mints! So this is definitely a good place to hang out and shoot the shit if you can actually get an appointment; I just wouldn't recommend it for healthcare. (You can also go to a coffee shop or a bar to shoot the shit twice a year. It'll cost less than $80 + copay and you'll probably get some delicious drinks there.) I do think this doctor probably has the potential to provide quality care. I'm just not sure he actually wants to. read more

Dr Shelly Campbell is amazing. She is very intelligent and always offers me a lot of value during our visits (which btw, never feel rushed) I greatly appreciate the kind staff, clean office and level of comfort I feel when going there. When I got my last labs done the gal working said "dr Peter reeds office is always on top of orders" so even other health professionals recognize the value. Oh and the parking is easy to access, the location isn't in one of those massive health suites which I LOVE. read more

Best care I've received in Az so far! Can't understand the negative reviews, but from my experience 5 thumbs up! Sure you pay an annual fee, but the service and care are absolutely outstanding. I had my first appointment yesterday and saw Shelley Campbell. It was a lovely appointment from check in (front desk is super nice and helpful) my nurse was amazing, he was very polite and asked me a lot of questions and well as a little bit of chit chat. Shelley is ahhhmazing! She listened to my issues, was absolutely non judgmental and we made a plan to get me back to feeling my best. Nothing happens overnight! But I feel 100% better about the road ahead than I did when I walked in. I truly appreciate the entire staff at Moon Valley Health and I am very grateful and appreciative that Shelley will be working with me. Thanks everyone!! read more

Update: Got a call from Jen, the office manager. She was super nice and corrected a misunderstanding that I had regarding board certifications and apologized for any miscommunication regarding appointment timing. She was super nice, and although I just received the voicemail and didn't have a chance to return her call before they closed, I greatly appreciate her reaching out to help resolve the situation and wanted to update my review in a timely manner. I had a 4:30pm appointment and arrived at 4:28, the receptionist let me know that I was late and promptly treated me as such. Apparently they want you there a full 30 minutes before your appointment time, but that wasn't communicated in any appointment confirmation email or text, so apparently I was just supposed to know somehow. Would be very helpful to have that info included in the texts and emails that are sent to your patients prior to their visit. They also charge a $50 annual membership fee to be a patient at this practice to cover admin costs and "concierge" services. At first glance, I was very caught off guard, because I've never heard of a board certified medical practice charging a membership fee. Not a huge deal, it's not a significant amount of money, but that's when I realized they are DO & NP, not MDs. That part is on totally on me, I should have paid more attention when my husband booked the appointments. However, we would have been totally fine with a DO as we prefer a holistic medicine approach and don't want to be prescribed lots of RXs anyway. I was scheduled to see Ashley Seei, the NP at my visit, but upon arrival I was told that she doesn't do annuals or wellness visits.... which is what I came in for. At this point, the whole experience was just chaotic. So I ended up just leaving and telling them I would just reschedule due to the tremendous amount of confusion happening and at that point we had already wasted 20 minutes and they were getting ready to close. I can't speak on the care provided here, only that the first impression for new patients was not a good one. My top suggestions to improve the patient experience would be to send out a new patient welcome email when you have a new patient appointment booked with you. Include the membership fee info, the request to arrive 30 minutes early with the new patient forms attached. This can be automated very easily through the appt portal. Please don't forget that your front desk is your first impression with your new patients, compassion and kindness goes a long way especially in the medical field. You never know what issue I could have been coming in with and I certainly felt scolded from the front desk for arriving at my appointment time. Needless to say, my husband and I are undecided on if we will reschedule. I like the holistic approach but quite frankly don't know if I like it enough to negate the poor first impression/experience here. read more

I've been a patient here for about a year. Twice I've been sent to specialists only to find that no appointment was made nor were my medical records forwarded. Today, with a broken foot, this led to 3 hours of pain and frustration. When I called to complain, they simply told me how it was all my fault. read more

Everyone has been amazing here. I was a little annoyed when I first called because I had to wait a month for an appointment but I'd say it was worth the wait. He went over his time with me because he wanted to make sure I understood the medications and risk/benefit. I honestly haven't had a doctor like that since before I was an adult. I was coming from a doctors office where I, as a person, didn't matter. Honestly, Reed has restored my faith in doctors. He listens and you can tell he actually cares-I'm pretty sure I care about my health because he does- and not only cause he said my diet was that of a 13 year old stoner ;) I'm really so glad to have have this practice! read more

I have seen Dr. Peter Reed, for at least 10 months, the last time I seen him it was for a physical. I let him know in person, with my previous appointment I would be coming in for physical next appointment. The look on his face, was palpable. There will be no pap smear, new guidelines, I understand that, fine. But the look on his face, there was no breast exam, he wouldn't of listened to my lung if I wouldn't of asked! Basic exam protocol's. I had to ask for a skin check. Very disappointed ! I don't know how this was called a physical. He is good at talking in the hallway to men about sports, herd that a lot while waiting in the next exam room, you can hear everything between rooms. read more

I've had chronic back pain for three years now. 24/7. Every day. All day. A Lot of pain. I've been to two other doctors that gave me x-rays, gave me pills, told me to do some stretches and even went through physical therapy for a few months. Nothing worked. I was told to visit another doctor by a co-worker, but that doctor wasn't taking patients and he suggested that I try Dr. Reed. So I did. Actually. My visit to Dr. Reed was because I was sick at the time, and I was only going to mention in passing my back pain to get some history going with him. I was diagnosed with viral flu for my sickness which was as expected. But in the same session Dr. Reed already found that one hip was higher than the other and made a couple of adjustments and stretched me out. I kid you not, for two days afterward, my pain in my back has been reduced by at least 80%. I realize it's temporary for now as one session obviously isn't going to cure me. But now I am at least optimistic, especially considering that I was afraid I had a degenerative disease. Thank you Dr. Reed! read more

Dr Reed's practice is clean and welcoming and his receptionist is kind and engaging. I needed a new PCP within the BlueCross/Shield healthcare program I enrolled in on January 1st. I did not know anything about Dr. Reed prior to my first visit. I was just hoping he'd be better than my last two PCP's in the last two years. One of them was old and didn't seem to care anymore. The next was impossible to get an appointment with in under 4 weeks and I always had to settle for a PA. My nervousness was dispelled instantly upon meeting with Dr Reed. He is young, energetic, knowledgeable, and best of all his friendliness and "bedside manner" puts one at ease and exudes confidence. If that were not good enough, his office staff is super friendly and caring and his office is clean and professional looking. I'm told I can get an appointment if I need one virtually the next day, which is very important to me with my poor experience with my past two PCP's. Have only one complaint. The office parking lot seriously needs re-paving. That's it. read more

We are new to the Phoenix area and I went to Dr. Reed based on very positive internet reviews I found including Yelp. I have to say I was extremely happy with my entire experience! Jennifer who I spoke with over the phone was super nice and their excellent customer service continued in person when I was seen in the office just a few hours later (yes he saw me the same day!) I was also very impressed that Jennifer made sure he saw me before the patient who arrived after me even though I was a new patient and needed to have my chart put together. Dr. Reed was extremely friendly. I never felt rushed and he was very thorough. I also liked that he has been to medical school in the last decade and is up to date on the latest standards of care and treatment. Overall, this was one of the most positive experiences I have ever had with a doctor. In fact my whole family will now be going to see him. One tip, because his practice is pretty new he is currently open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays but as his practice grows he plans to add more days. Also his office is nothing special, but it was clean and frankly I am most concerned about getting good care and excellent customer service! You don't need all the extras when you have competent staff and are good at what you do. As someone who works in the healthcare field and has been around a lot of doctors, I can confidently say he is a top notch doctor with a terrific bedside manner. Highly recommended!!!!! read more

This Dr. ROCKS as a professional and as a person He deserves 10 stars if that was available!! I had high blood pressure for at least the last 20 years. After seeing Dr. Peter Reed, he changed my medicines, and listened to me as his patient. Something most Drs. today, don't do. My blood pressure numbers are where they should be within just a few short months of me being under his care. I've been to many Drs. over the last 40 years and have never met a more compassionate caring Dr. He may be young but brings "new medicine" with him. The "old medicine" didn't seem to work, but none of my older Drs. wanted to try and experiment. His staff is wonderful and very helpful. Very easy to book appts. and extremely helpful with insurance companies. They know what they're doing!! Dr Reed is personable, patient, understanding and the type of person that you will want to take care of you, your kids, and your grandkids. I never been the type to run to doctors but I started suffering from anxiety and depression again after 10 years. I did not have a health care provider at the time. So, Like so many people do I googled good doctor reviews in AZ and I came away impressed with the reviews of Dr Reed and his staff. I'm very happy I made the decision to go with him as my Doctor. He's been very knowledgeable and professional and always puts me at ease and feels like he really cares about my well being. His staff is always friendly and helpful as well when I visit them. One staff member in particular ( Jen ) is a huge asset to his practice she is so knowledgeable and you can tell she really loves to help people and that goes such a long way in my book. If she can't answer my question or needs to ask the dr for something she always calls me back in a timely manner and I just can't say enough good things about her. Every office needs a Jen!
