Cons: large parking lot, but feels very chaotic for some reason. (I often park further away from the store at the US Bank parking just because it's calmer); fewer selections of cosmetic/hair products than other Target stores; more crowded than other Target stores, no matter what day of the week, probably because of proximity to the Montclair Plaza-- for that reason, sometimes certain shelves are empty until they get restocked. 9/25/24 ATTN TARGET customers & TARGET management. Some of your employees are RIPPING off customers! Please be forewarned and be advised, buying gift cards at this Target may be subject to getting RIPPED OFF. I bought a VISA gift card (and Denny's, McDonalds) last Saturday. My sister contacted me today that she had to contact a 877 toll free number to settle & file a case. I requested separate gift receipts but that does not deter the underhand dealings. The VISA was "sealed" from my inspection so I did not suspect anything is amiss. Please see photos (attached). Went in there to shop on a Friday afternoon. Had to use the restroom. No toilet paper in the open stall . Told one employee and he just stated stared at me. 8 minutes later he walks up to me snd asks "Are you a manager?". Then after I answer he walks off again. 5 more minutes pass. If I could give 0 stars I would. We came to this location because another store sent us here(they had multiple of what we needed in stock). We asked multiple team members for assistance with a refrigerator... one team member was helpful and sweet but she mentioned that the fridges were stacked up high and she needed assistance getting it down. Where is your management? Your leads? This sweet employee came back to let us know she was working on trying to get it down but no management, no help!?!! Your employees can't do it all. Freaking step up and do something! This is ridiculous. I am a lead in retail at my job and... not having items stocked and out on the floor is crazy, especially when it's going to take you an hour to go back and grab it from back stock. Smh. Do better. When I thought this place couldn't get any worse, Elaina changed my mind today. I have never been to any store except for save a lot or Food for Less where are expected to load your groceries in your cart because, you didn't purchase a bag. Not only that she was talking about being back on vacation drinking Margueritas instead of working there and having good customer service. I gave up on Wal-Mart after some fraud charges. But guess what, Wal-Mart has way better customer service. I actually wanna give a shout out to Samantha at self check out who has customer service skills and a smile and is helpful. I called the other day to compliment her. I never was able to get a manager on the phone. Their phones just ring and ring. I left my compliment with someone in the room electronics dept who said they'd pass it along. This is usually my go-to Target, but every time I come here the employees seem to get more and more rude. I've actually never written a negative review in my life, but this experience really pushed me to speak up. Today I came in to return a few items that I ended up not using for New Year's. 95% of the items were unopened and unused. The worker, Jesse, made the entire return feel uncomfortable and interrogating. For every single item he scanned, he asked me why I was returning it and looked at me like I was doing something suspicious, even questioning why I didn't have the original box for a $15 iPad case (high I as returning because after a week the magnetic feature on the case stopped working.) I understand the system asks for a return reason, but the way he repeatedly questioned me felt unnecessary and judgmental. At the end of the transaction, I asked if the refund could go onto a gift card. I usually use my dad's card and send him the money, so getting a gift card just makes things easier since I shop here often anyway and so he doesn't have to resend me my money. He immediately told me no and said the system wouldn't allow it because it was "too much stuff," even though the total was only about $80. I've worked at Target before and know that gift cards are normally an option, and I've personally returned more than this in the past without any issues. He argued with me back and forth a bit still claiming the system won't let him because I returned "so much stuff." When I explained that now I'd have to transfer money back to my dad, he responded very short and dismissively, said "fine," processed the gift card anyway, and didn't even respond when I said thank you. The entire interaction made me feel like I had done something wrong when I absolutely hadn't. Customer service should not make people feel judged or uncomfortable for making a normal return. read more

VISA CARDS buyers beware!!! DO NOT BUY THEM. As mentioned on Jennifer's review. Target corporation sells these bogus VISA cards. As I tried to use it today 9.25.24 when I opened it correctly to where it states to do so. It was alarming to see the middle digits where one needed to use it for making a purchase plus the security code was also scratched off. The contents of the where this card was placed where NOT scratched off, the envelope where it is in is clean, no scratches whatsoever. This was repackaged this way. So I had no choice but to call the 1 (877) 867-4873 and spoke to a customer service rep who had a very hard accent and he said his name was Carson and would not state the company he worked for. He mentioned that it would take 3-5 days to settle this case or 30 days!! They ask for your phone number, email address, full name and home address to send you a replacement card. It sucks as these are sensitive information and why a phone number? An email address should be sufficient because nowadays spam risk calls are abundant!!!! So again, I am sending this review so DO NOT BUY these VISA cards and give ppl cash instead. It is your hard earned money so purchase wisely and do NOT patronize these GCs. But have to admit, I was surprised at how clean the store was, how well the shelves were stocked, and the two workers I encountered, were actually friendly and helpful. Although I have noticed a price increase. I do not believe that it is the store itself who dictates the price. Parking is plentiful. Whenever I am in Montclair, this is my go-to Target. I normally come here just on the weekends when I'm down the hill to buy gifts for family and friends. It's not my go-to place for regular shopping... it's more of a place of convenience when I'm in need of something. But when I am here, I don't encounter any bad staff or anything. I usually like to use the self check-out when possible. Inventory of goods are normally in good stock; however, I have seen quite a bit of empty shelves lately... Walmart is usually like this with empty shelves... I hope Target isn't following suit LOL. We already have one, we don't need two. Parking gets a little crazy sometimes so I tend to park a bit farther and I'll just walk a bit farther. I love walking anyway so no big deal. I just witnessed the sweetest thing. There was an elderly customer who needed to use the restroom. She walked with difficulty. Team Member Stacey helped her to the restroom, helped her in the stall to get ready, and then stood watch outside the stall until the customer finished. I'm sure she had work to get back to, but she stood guard outside for this customer. This is why I shop at Target. Because people here care. I'm going to call a manager here and let him/her know what an amazing team member they have in Stacey. My heart can't take this. Don't normally review markets but since the COVID-19 pandemic, have only been able to visit these essential places. Wanted to give some information about the Drive up experience and going into the store. I have been coming here to get essentials and it is great to see that they have someone wiping down the carts so I wouldn't have to do it myself. It's nice to know, even though they don't have the biggest grocery section compared to a actual grocery supermarket, they carry a ton of food alternatives, like Oatly(they sell out fast) Beyond Meat, and pretty much the essentials you may need. For Drive-Up it is super easy for you to order anything. I would recommend this over pick-up. All you need to do is order what you want, then select drive up. When you start driving you select "im on my way." It will ask you about sharing your location, I would select "share this one time" as I found this makes it even faster for them to bring out your item as soon as you arrive. Once you arrive you just park next to these designated Drive Up section of the parking lot, and a team member will bring the item out to you. (Note that if you share your location, you do not need to click a button that says "I am here" ) One thing to note is that they have recently added a $1 charge in case you are going to be keeping the bags in California, in order to avoid paying more you can just bring your own bags and tell them you don't need the bags. In general I would recommend going here as it is safe and easy to get the things you need. Still thinking about how smart it was for stores like Target and Walmart to start having a grocery section. I just hope these will still count towards my credit card rewards as "American Grocery Stores" read more

In their Ulta makeup section was a sale today. But one mini get one free. I asked the employee if the setting spray I chose was included. She said yes. Unfortunately she was wrong. Not mad at her. But I didn't know it until the cashier rang my purchase. I asked if I could purchase the correct one on sale. Asked two other people also. They said yes, but I had to go get it myself. There are several employees and I have to correct their mistake by going back to get it. I asked if an empty could get it and they all said no. After I made my purchase with the correct product, I noticed the cashier never voided the incorrect product. I then had to wait in line at customer service for my refund. Tonight I went to target to just do some random shopping. My daughter wanted a new toothbrush so we go look and she spots some on the clearance rack. They were Philips one toothbrush. Priced at 7.49, so I grabbed two. Go to the register the girl starts ringing up my stuff and one of the toothbrushes comes up to 24.99. I explain to her that i have one there that's marked at 7.49 and you have a whole bunch of different colors the on clearance. She rudely saids no they are by color I again tell her you have several on the clearance rack she again says no and says I can ask. Then the store Manager Noe with his sassy attitude comes and proceeds to tell me they are by color. I think to myself they keep saying the same thing but again they have several of the same toothbrushes on the wall of clearance. Once i'm done paying Noe walks to the back and I go with. As he is there staring at these toothbrushes on the obvious clearance rack I ask so you still won't honor the price. Again he mustards up as much sass as he can and turns and aggressively says did i say that. I ask him why is he getting an attitude when I asked if he would still honor the price. He starts telling me i didn't see these here and i said I had no reason to lie about a toothbrush. I ask again will you honor the price since you've seen it. He rolls his eyes and says yes turns and storms off. Not once did he apologize for the mistake of whoever stocked the shelf but instead argued with me and he could have simply just honored the price for what it was. When I get to the register he tells the other rude chick give her 30 percent off the original price. I just said you know what keep the toothbrush. Target you should speak to your terrible sassy store manager Noe and have him in customer service training, because he was unnecessarily rude and definitely could have fixed his wrong but he chose not too. We went yesterday to buy some things and I went to the bathroom. I waited 5 minutes for a bathroom stall because they were in use and the stall I ended up using was so dirty and disgusting!!! The trash was all over and overflowing with toilet paper and the toilet paper dispenser was broken. The stall and seat were gross, I literally squatted over the toilet so I wouldn't be sitting on it. read more

This Target is one that sells everything you would expect at Target along with food. The store is organized and open late nightly. I read some complaints about the manager Gerald and I would agree with guests reviews of him. He is very standoffish and unfriendly. When I spoke with him he explained that the store had "no manager". I would hope Target would not promote him to be the store manager as his attitude is not something that Target would want in a Store Manager. On a positive note, the store has self checkout. Once thing that is a problem is many homeless outside asking for money. That's always a negative. read more

I would have to say that this Target usually has what I want, but there are times that I have to go to another Target. Today, I got the 4 items that I wanted. However, there were only a few lanes opened. A cashier from customer service came over, looked right at me because I was looking at her to see if she was going to open a register and then she turned to the woman on her right and said I can take you over here. The employee didn't look like me, nor did the woman that she checked out, but she did have her items in a cart, which were more than the 4 items that I was holding. When I was about to do my first transaction and I have scan a LAVA LAMP it was on clearance $12.50 and retail price $25.00 and short lady said to me if I was guna pay my other items that I had in my shopping cart , I told her yes but it was to be separate transaction. And mean while scan the lava lamp the lamp didn't had clearance on it I'm like what a time and lady was very rude and told me I should take pics of clearance show them at price I'm like " since when did I need to take a picture of item to show them the price she said I needed take pictures I'm like " what the hell".. and so another lady show me she had attitude to me she didn't wana do her job look for item when I told them it was was light section and she like oh it was not on clearance only a blue one .. I'm like it on clearance on it and so what the difference.. same product and so she match price change and clearance $12.50 of lava lamp and she like next time take pics so we can see it .. I don't get paid to take pictures of items for me show proof of items when they have device on them !! Very rude and both of them !!! I'm like yall need to change yall attitude towards customers!!! The IE can be a very scary place. My sons are going to school in Claremont so I have no choice but to drive down Central Ave everyday. One day my son said look at that big Target, they'll have more toys. The merchandise they have at this location is AMAZING! We were shopping for LEGO sets and they have two full rows of different themed sets and multiple displays all over the store. There was also a huge section of vintage Disney and Disney Tsum Tsum items that were so unbelievably adorable. I bought a vintage Disney sweatshirt by Junkfood for $25! They also had the biggest Sharpie display, which are my favorite pens. I write a lot and in need of only the BEST pens. The staff are also really nice, asking if I needed anything in multiple times. read more
