The regular croissant was good , but honestly it was very similar to what we normally get at the South Melbourne Market. The almond croissant, however, was amazing..incredibly rich and flavorful. The caramelized one was the standout for me. It was easily the best one we tried. The texture and flavor were incredible. We arrived at just the right time and barely had a wait, but a line started forming shortly after, so timing definitely matters. Overall definitely worth trying!

Well...the French would riot at the cost of these beauties starting around $7 AUD+ (about $4.50+ in US) but the French riot at most things (which I totally appreciate btw, so no shade, my frenchie comrades) I'm going to say the price is pretty reasonable considering the cost of a plane ticket nowadays to get the real thing would be a lot more, so moving on. Also, this is a pretty average price of a croissant or pastries at most coffee shops in the states, especially considering it's located next to Chanel and Dior. The line was out the door and down the block, but moved impressively quickly. I was through the line within 5 minutes, and had my croissants and coffee within 3 minutes, then was on my way to food heaven. Now to the croissants. I think I half expected these to be over-hyped because of the bougie location and who's who status of these croissants. Literally 4 different people on my walk back to the hotel, and a girl in the elevator saw the bag and asked if I had ever tried these before. Luna is THAT girl. Luna IS the instagram influencer. Starting with the impossibly glossy exterior, then I started into the first layer. Layer by layer flaking off one by one until you start to reach the perfect buttery soft, stretchy layers inside that melt in your mouth, one by one. It was marvelous. Frenchies don't come for me, but this rivaled any croissant I had in my travels through the French countryside, (except they weren't $1.50). I don't even want to post this review because it's a hidden gem in my opinion and I don't want to share it with anyone!!! (I'm an only child, have I mentioned that?) The place is small, but cozy and the staff are so attentive. They also sell three of my favourite things: Darryl's Peanut Butter, Panna Choloctae and freshly baked sourdough bread. Check out their little nook of goodies when you head to the register to pay. The menu changes monthly depending on the fruit and veg that are in season (I'm a sucker for places that do this!). It a great place for vegetarians and vegans because the dishes are so creative and healthy, you never feel like you're missing out. It's also great for all you omnivores and meat eaters. Their dishes also hero juicy bacon, chorizo and sausages as well. Every time a dish is placed in front of me I'm pleasantly surprised with the beautiful presentation and quality of the produce. This place has exceeded my expectations in so many ways, and that's saying something!!

This time I sat in and ordered a coffee and a chicken cotoletta (basically schnitzel) which was served with a delicious salad of greens and tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella and a sticky balsamic dressing and fresh bread on the side. It was WAY too much food more me and I could have easily shared it someone. The whole meal cost me $15.50 and was worth every penny. My only regret is that I didn't leave any room for the divine looking cakes they had on display! But I've learned my lesson for next time.

Said order same out to me, note being I sat outside as it was a very nice day, promptly and for which I did not have to wait long. Coffee was a tad on the smaller side but was sufficient. The spinach and cheese pastry was nice. I quite enjoyed the dish but it didn't leave a lasting memory. Coffee, despite the size, was respectable. Definitely not the best I have had but far from the worst. I went back in and had an iced coffee and that too was brought to me outside and was just as nice. Much more than was I expected. I was expecting a simple iced coffee. Case in point an iced coffee that I was accustomed too is the same as a regular coffee just cold. This was much more. It was like a shake with ice cream on top. Will I complain about this break from normality? No I will not. I liked it a good deal. It just threw me for a curveball. What else can I complain about? Well, since it was the first time I was at this location I asked for recommendations and did not get any. Is this a big deal? Well, it is a double edged sword. On one hand it is a sign that everything may be good but on the other hand it may be that the location does not have its own identity. What selection is great here? What will be a good order considering I don't know what is good here? I do not know. I did not get a recommendation. I walked in blind seeking guidance and was left still blind. I don't know if I experienced everything this place had to offer or if I should return wanting more. It may be a minor gripe to you but to me it is rather important. I like knowing what a place has to offer. I like to asking for a recommendation and trying said recommendation to see if it was indeed a correct choice. Pane E Latte was indeed a nice place. Walking in I had a nice experience. I just wish they had the wow factor that I desired. Tell me what is good. Guide me to experience the best that you offer. That little extra step goes a long way in the eyes of the guest. If you make us feel like you want us to experience the best you have to offer we will come back to see the rest. What I experienced was, although nice, not enough to make me go out of my way to return and see more of what can be offered.
