Paul Taschereau was fine to work with while building our dream home 4 years ago; but since we closed, gradually got worse about returning our calls to close out the small open points on our one-year punch list items. To the point now that we will be filing a claim against him to be able to cover the cost of someone else to resolve the problems... Additionally, in the process of finishing part of our basement, we have discovered water damage caused by improper deck flashing/water-proofing, and now have a rotting wall and mold damage to deal with! This business would get a zero! TIP screwed almost every homeowner who hired him at Senter Farm in Hudson. He is a liar and a fraud! He does not pay his subs, therefore they walk off the job leaving homes half built exposed to the weather to rot! Many of the homes have leins on the property and are poorly built. Paul has no issue with lying directly to your face, how does this pos sleep at night knowing he is screwing families. He lives in a mansion in Litchfield, while families scramble to find a place to live because their home has not been completed. He has 7 pending claims with the NH Attorney Generals office along with a half dozen lawsuits. His wife who is a realtor assisted him with scamming people all for greed. She should be reported to the realtor board for fraud as well. My basement floor and foundation has cracks from one end to the other. It will cost 27K to be repaired, our home was built in 2018. It looks like his business has closed but I'm sure he will pop up again with another business name. Buyer beware! read more

We are currently living in a home built 8 years ago by TIP. During our initial meetings with TIP we were alerted to a few other "issues" from homeowners also living in TIP homes. We decided to move forward anyway as Paul assured us they were fixing the issues and making these other homeowners happy....it was just taking time working through the "fixes". If I could have that decision over again, I would NOT move forward with TIP as the contractor building my home. In the last 8 years we've had issues with: - the front steps sinking (TIP fixed once, steps sunk again after TIP fixed)....independent contractor asked if we installed the steps ourselves because "there is no way a professional contractor installed those steps"). TIP stated that "our steps would settle, that's what happens to new construction". - backyard sinkhole after TIP buried stumps in the backyard (quicker for them to finish the home, they said). TIP came out to fix the problem, just threw more dirt on the sinkhole of stumps. - septic system failing due to improper installation (independent Septic company was adamant the installation was poorly done and did not use the necessary materials to support this size septic system). Company says we will probably need to replace the whole system within a few years. HOUSE AND SYSTEM ARE ONLY 8 YEARS OLD!! - fireplace was not adequately insulated causing a massive cold draft into my living room (independent fireplace company was appalled at the original installation) - dryer was not properly vented, which TIP came back to fix....STILL not vented properly and causing roof damage as well as black mold in my ceiling. - roof issues that are trending towards a full replacement. AFTER ONLY 8 YEARS!! - We also had an issue with the heating system randomly shutting off. HVAC Company came out and also asked if we installed the system ourselves. There were connections that were not properly installed or secured. HVAC Company was shocked at the shoddy work to the point, they secured the connections at no charge saying "this is a safety issue, not a problem with the system". - Water leaking into our ceiling from the master bathroom. TIP, when asked why/how we could get water in the ceiling of a brand new house from the master bathroom...."the kids were probably splashing in the master tub". For real TIP?? Independent contractor stated, again, there were UN-secured connections that were causing the leak. "How could someone install this shower without at least putting putty or sealant around these joints?" I grew up in a family owned contracting business. NEVER have I seen or experienced SO MANY issues at one home, BEFORE it hits the 10 year mark. Bottom line - TIP cuts corners to mass produce the product, then won't stand behind it once completed. Very frustrating. UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW We decided to put a pool in and started with the excavation. Paul and his crew told me, after we had signed and moved in, that there were "a few stumps buried in the backyard". Well, to our surprise there were MORE than a few stumps. Paul Taschereau and his crew buried CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS in our backyard: sections of plastic pipe, many pieces of siding, soda bottles as well as stumps. To top it off, some of the debris wasn't even from the construction of our House!! There were pieces of red siding that were dug up......and we don't have a red house. The gentleman doing the excavation asked me, as soon as he finished digging "Taschereau built this house, right? Could tell by the garbage that was buried, he does that at every one of the homes he built. I've dug up quite a few, every one has garbage buried in it." Thanks, Paul Taschereau. I had written a review out of my personal emotion for this building company. We had an issue that we resolved together. FIrst & foremost Taschereau Investment Properties builds on of the highest quality homes in SO.Nh. I make this clear in any review I would post. His attention to detail, oversight & build is top quality. We had a disagreement that was no different than any human bing incident where there were two sides. We approached it like to professionals and resolved the issue. I removed my earlier YELP review 7 weeks-8 weeks ago. I admitted fault for the areas I was at fault for, and maintain that this builder builds one of the highest quality and value homes in NH. I also say that they are more than willing to remedy any situation if btw sides approach with reason & fairness. I give my highest recommendation for Paul & his team of staff and would buy from him again, any day. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We purchased our home built by Paul Taschereau in 2012. It was built to the studs and we were able to choose the finishes. That's where our good experience ends. After only one year in our home it was abundantly clear that every corner that could be cut, was indeed. To say that the work completed here is builder-grade would be the overstatement of the century! We sent a certified letter with all of our concerns (well within our window of coverage for the home warranty) and that letter was never accepted and subsequently returned to us. Here's an abridged list of what has gone wrong. - Brand new windows that draft and have broken locks. - caulking on the granite countertops disintegrated allowing water between the countertop and backsplash piece - Our deck was not built to the proper setback so our 14x14 deck became a 14x4 staircase. WE had to go to the town to request a variance AND pay for it. "Top soil" was spread and grass seed spread... Which equates to lowest grade loam with trash in it and a bag of seed thrown on the windiest day of the summer. Conveniently the home warranty excluded the yard. Needless to say nothing will grow on our sand lot. - My husbands leg fell in a sink hole in the back yard while mowing the weeds - thank god he didn't break his leg or worse. The adjacent lot has had extensive work done in their yard due to buried trees - if it rains more than a misting and when the snow melts our back yard floods almost all the way up to the house and bulkhead door. I credit that to the awful grading of the property, and the fact that so much land was initially stripped, making our yard the lowest point on the surrounding lots. - walls have cracked and doors don't shut - we went to have a door installed at the bottom of our bulkhead because it wasn't included in the build - to the tune of $700 (without the cost of the door) because the foundation opening was not square. The professional who came in said it was one of the worst he'd seen in his decades of installations. There was almost a 2" difference from the top of the opening vs the bottom. Making the simple door install a "custom installation" - our front porch has no railings like the house plans show because they're "within code limitations". When I measured it myself and pointed out that it was NOT, Paul and his team threw dirt around the deck to bring up the height of the ground... Much cheaper than homeowner safety with a railing to code. - most recently we had the basement evaluated after it flooded, ruining several of our stored belongings. After several companies came to check it out, they informed us that our basement has "hydrostatic pressure cracks" meaning the water under the house is forcing its way straight up creating a path of least resistance. - during our initial walk through with Paul I asked when it had flooded before and he seemed surprised that I knew. All of the window screens were in the basement and showed a good 3-4inches of what looked like rust. Come to find out that was iron ochre which apparently is abundant in the ground water of my house. He told me that it had flooded during early construction before a sump pump was installed. What he didn't point out was that he had more concrete poured into the basement to hide the evidence of the cracks, the shocking orange color the water leaves in its wake, and the fact that he knew there was a bigger water problem on this property than he led us to believe. As you can see in the photos, he buried the structure of the stairs in the new layer of concrete. When the water came in it was clear to see that the floor is pulling away from the walls on the outermost sides of the basement. This alone is estimated to be a $12,000 fix! The list goes on, but by now I'm sure you get the picture. My father was a contractor and I wish he was still alive because my home would feel like a palace compared to the abysmal work done here. My advice: if you are considering purchasing one of his homes or having one built. DON'T. Run in the other direction. read more

My family contacted this company to build us a home in Londonderry, NH. We found the land, meet with Paul, went over exactly what we were looking for, agreed on price and signed a construction contract to begin the process. The process begins with securing the land and finalizing plans in order to enter into a purchase and sale agreement. Everything was great until we signed the contract, then Paul disappeared. We waited patiently to hear from Paul to see a set of plans as discussed but never heard from him. We ended up contacting him to see where we stand with the purchase of the land and preliminary plans in which he responded "do you want to send me plans you have or I can send you some". We were taken back because we had a very specific conversation as well as looked at a house that was very similar to what we wanted so why was he asking if we had plans of what we want?? So he ended up sending us plans that we not even close to what we discussed. I ended up calling Paul stating our frustrations and please at least send us plans that had the right square footage and dimensions as a starting point as discussed. We still recieved plans that didn't even have the right outside box dimensions as discussed. I then emailed Paul stating that I have many changes that I would like to discuss and my preference would be to sit down with him and his designer and go over them. Paul responded saying just make the changes and email them over to him. So I basically drafted a set of plans and emailed them over but never heard anything back. Part two of this is his wife is the selling agent and my agent had contacted her to find out where we stood with going to the purchase and sale agreement in which she responded in another 3-4 weeks. Our contract stated construction would begin in 3-4 weeks from date of contract, and it was now 2 weeks in and nothing has happened. Paul was not keeping us adequately informed of any milestones or where we are or needed to be in the process, and his wife is now saying another 3-4 weeks. We took objection to that and questioned her on it, in which we a had a flurry exchange of inappropriate emails, with the last one saying our demands were out of line, and we were disrespectful. The next thing we know, is we get a letter from Paul stating he is no longer interested in the project and he will be breaking the contract and sending us back our deposit. No explanation, no nothing. Our buyer agent contacted him, and Paul basically said he thought we talked down to him once and his gut was telling him to walk away. Never experienced anything like this in our life. I have two Master Degrees, own my own business, was a Project Manager for a large commericial contractor and have never seen someone walk away from a 1/2 million dollar project because of your ego only two weeks into the contract. Very very disappointed with this contractor to say the least. Very poor business skills, poor conflict resolution, and we highly would NOT recommend Tachereau Investment Properties for your building needs. Our dreams were dashed because Paul thought we talked down to him. After seeing the reviews below, knowing now that he was sued and lost as well as two complaints this past year through the BBB, I guess we are not surprised.
