I took a bite of my niece's leftover cheesecake one night and I was impressed at how creamy it was. I made it a point to follow them on social media. I quickly found out that it's a pretty limited food truck- they really only have a few hours on the weekends when they are available. But I made it point to get here on a Saturday to test out a few slices for myself. I got the Peanut Butter Brownie and the Chocolate. Both slices were absolutely fantastic! This is the best local cheesecake I've had (I still really love Cheesecake Factory and Junior's in NYC). But these cheesecakes are so fresh and creamy. I also love that they have a classic peanut butter flavor (something Cheesecake Factory doesn't have out of their countless offerings!) I devoured both of my slices and am already looking forward to my next visit. They tend to frequent suburbs (Westerville, Grove City, Reynoldsburg), but I really would love if they make a trip downtown soon! Either way, I'm ready for my next slice!

Their food truck came to my company today and wow am I glad they did. The texture of the cheesecake was so smooth and not like regular cheesecake, but trust me it was better. Each Buckeye is a minimum of two bites. My favorite stuffed flavor is puppy chow. Last night I tried key lime. The sour citrus definitely shone. The choices are clearly labeled. They have a rewards program which will net you two wax paper covered regular Buckeyes. The service is always excellent. They are game for small talk about the flavors, the business, weather, etc. even though I'm sure they've heard it all before. It's a small space but don't be discouraged if there's a line. They don't have the nostalgia candies anymore, but they do have plenty of good chocolates. The owner was super friendly, give me a couple samples and asked my tastes to figure out what I might like. I ended up with a pound of turtles and some chocolate covered pretzels. They are very very very good. You can buy them by the pound, although I think you can also get a half pound or whatever. But hey, it's good stuff, and although I will try to make it last, I know it will be gone pretty soon. Walk-ins are only on Wednesdays, so check their website for hours. Most of their business is online, and they have free delivery to a lot of Columbus, so that is probably a good idea for most. I happened to be nearby and made sure I came during their open hours. But hey now, free delivery of excellent chocolate? I will keep that in mind as a gift, or as a gift for myself.

I got a variety for us to sample, including: Classic Cornbread with Honey Butter, Beet Hummus, Classic Cheddar Biscuit, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Maple & Pecan Granola, and the Black Bean Chili. The communication was great - you order and pay online ahead of time and then pick up is a breeze. I got confirmation of my order promptly and a follow up to let me know the food would be ready as expected. They also provided reheating directions for the black bean chili, as well as a list of suggested toppings that I might want to have on hand. It was nice to get this in advance, since I was able to add some items to my regular shopping list to have on hand. At pick up, the friendly staff person managing the tent quickly found our nicely packed bag. The food itself was delicious. The black bean chili was absolutely devoured in one sitting - they offer a larger size, which is what I would have to get in the future! It was delicious accompanied by the cornbread and biscuits. The beet hummus is, as one might guess, a gorgeous and eye-catching pink and is very good with crudites, crackers, and pita bread. And, of course, you can't go wrong with a classic chocolate chip cookie! Little Eater also offers a weekly meal delivery or pick up service, as well as catering.

Many, if not all, of the flavors were available to sample. My son sampled and enjoyed several of the more exotic flavors, while I stuck with the sweeter varieties. Unfortunately, I didn't care for any of the popcorn that I tried. I'm not really sure why. I love caramel corn, but the flavors just didn't seem bold enough to me. Perhaps it didn't impress me because I'll be forever comparing popcorn to the gold standard - Garrett's Popcorn in Chicago. And let's face it, if you've ever had Garrett's, you'll agree that there is just no comparison. Still, I rated this place four stars because the staff was great, the shop was cute, and while the popcorn was indeed good, it just didn't blow me away.
