It is run by a passionate woman who is a sewing expert and the classes she offers really help build a sense of community in the cap hill area. The space also offers studio rental space for artists looking for a place to work on their projects. They are also hosting a market for local artists this year. I'm hoping these events continue. Overall, I intend to become a regular at Summit Selvage.

We've been in our office here for about a year, and LOVE it! They have it all, and then some. The…read moregrounds are clean, well kept and secure with sufficient parking and the option for a private garage. There's a wonderful courtyard with a lots of seating and a BBQ, a gym, and our favorite - conference rooms and a community lounge which is can be reserved at no additional cost for a short time or the whole day either by the room, or the whole space. We use the conference rooms often as they have a conf phone, screen for presentations which you can easily connect your laptop to, and a full kitchen just outside. The property manager is friendly and helpful, as well as the maintenance team who is quick and reliable. We've had all positive experiences here, and the other companies throughout the lofts are full of friendly people as well. Being here feels more like home than your typical office building - a welcomed difference vs the typical rental space.

It is one of the more venerable stops on the Second Saturday Ballard Artwalk: it's working artist studio spaces that the artists graciously open for Artwalk and are right there to talk to folks passing through. While most of the artists are painters, working in a wide range of styles and media, there are also very talented artists working with metals and jewelry and beads and fabrics. It's an extremely friendly group of artists who very happily engage visitors and will also sell you something if you're interested. And sometimes there are bottles of wine and treats, and sometimes there is a cute dog or two running around. Possibly because it's somewhat off the main drag of the Artwalk, there will be some times when many of the studios are closed, but it definitely picks up going into the holiday season. Please do yourself a favor and check it out sometime. The talent level here is superlative (including AJ Power and CL Utley and Michael Dickter, to name a few; as this is a series of studios, the roster has some turnover from time to time). It's the most unique stop on the Artwalk.

I've seen a huge stuffed bear with crepe paper blood, light installations, things that move, things that make noise... That being said, alcohol and art can also offer a new set of challenges. I've been in groups that were sternly reprimanded for "getting too close" to displays. Without barriers and when the displays are right in the middle of the room, I think this widely varies from person to person. Yelling at patrons isn't ever a good idea. I hustled out of there pretty fast after that experience.
