Honestly, this "council" is ill-managed and lacks professional business standards. My certificate…read morearrived with a heavy crease near the top corner. I am disgruntled that my certificate arrived in a flimsy envelope with no slim cardboard backing. This quality of shipping for professional documentation was not acceptable. I was hoping that the crease would flatten out underneath a glass frame, however, it is clearly visible near the top right corner. I emailed and called CAMTC to request a new certificate be sent to the same address on file. I also recommended that future recipients be helped to avoid this issue by suggesting that a slim cardboard backing be sent with the certificate in a protected mailer (instead of a plain white envelope). The rep just scoffed, and said, "no, we don't do that." No care whatsoever. I paid $300 to get a $1.90 envelope with my hard-earned (creased) certificate. I believe this is poor ethics. My overall experience with CAMTC was poor throughout the application, email correspondence, and a lack of transparency. You have to call in to get any updates. I've worked with the Project Management Institute, Yoga Alliance, and the American Council of Exercise for their respective accreditation services. So, I expected the same type of professionalism. I was and still am highly disappointed. I don't expect CAMTC to be any better. After reading so many similar reviews with CAMTC issues, I have come to accept that it is just an ill-managed company. I just want to heed the warning to new applicants that this application process will not be enjoyable. Best of luck.

I got certified straight out of massage school in 2010. It was definitely not needed and a waste of $$$$! Don't get pressured from your school to sign up for this crap! Shitty customer care and service to say the least. What a disgrace! Although predictable for California in a way with all of their "progressive liberals" Alas, there is no value in this privately owned agency who lacks qualifications in many categories I'll be sure to notify as many fellow CMT's and MT's as possible to boycott the California Massage Therapy Council!!
