I look forward to the Strawberry Festival in Plant city every year now !…read more The fair runs from Late February into the second week of March every year and offers discounted tickets at local Publix stores. It goes back to late 1930 when local members of the newly organized Plant City Lions club has the idea of an event to celebrate the bountiful harvest of strawberries and boy am I glad they did ! There is strawberry everything at this fair - from popcorn to strawberry shortcakes , ice cream , donuts and even fresh picked strawberries for purchase to take home ! There are a ton of rides, food vendors , Local vendors and live animals for all ages to enjoy! I loved the pig races and eating all the delicious fairy food . I really wanted a pair of red cowboy boots ( yes they have retail vendors on site ) but left without them darn it . Parking is not so fun as there is no designated lot so you have to find a lot to park in and ranges from $10-30. This was my 3rd time coming and I will definitely come back with the family and friends to enjoy fun moments .

I visited Bokados, The Maine Thang, Tropicool, and Mmm Bap. I also stopped by the dog food truck as well called Dog Gone Health & Cats too. Mmm Bap was the best with the Korean Tacos & I did hear that a lot of people liked Bem Bem tacos. They had veggie options, and a duck taco. This is nice to walk around and see what your options of food may be, but like any food place it's a gamble if it's good or not. There didn't seem to be much diversity of food in my opinion. I was looking for Hawaiian and filipino food trucks. Someone else I know was dying for spicy thai food, & we just didn't find what we were looking for at the "World's Largest Food Truck Rally."(Not really, IMO)

While there were a wide variety of flavors available from bbq to Korean and your many selection of snow cones treats I expected more food trucks. We got to try a few things here and there. Lobsta Monsta had a great lobster roll and was getting ready to sell out around 2. Sarge's bbq didn't have ribs available until 1:30, when the event started at 11. The Smokin' BBQ wasn't open till around 12:20. Overall, it's something to do on a lovely Sunday but the event did not live to their name. I may come back next year but on Saturday and early. Seemed like several trucks sold out of things to sell on Sunday.

It is combination of the neighborhood to put up the entire neighborhood. I would said it it is a three houses combination to show that much of light. Even the music is synchronized among the three houses. The show said two house combine light. I think this is three house job. The light extended to the roof. I hope one day they can convince the entire neighborhood to do it. I like the music play and light are dancing. The dance with sequence with three houses combine are amazing. I have seen nothing like this. The light extended to the trees, roof and the ground cover. They have laser light shooting to the floor. Make this a party place.

I have seen Puerto Rican food there. This year Cuban sandwich winners are Aloha food truck (third place), the Floridian (second place), and the no 1 winner is Trias. Their secrets ingredient is salami. The Cuban community here is strong and they do hold this festival every year. Latin music playing at the background and people enjoy their afternoon off with family. We have try Sergio's Cuban sandwich from Miami. The line to get the sandwich is long. It takes me 30 minutes to line up to order. The price is cheap with whole sandwich for $7. I could have just order 10 of them and sell $10 to the people line up at the back. The drinks stand that next to the hot the benefits for the people who are in the line. The sandwich is ok. I have tasted better Cuban sandwich at Miami with better mojo pork. We also order the grilled steak meat from one of the food stand. It was juicy and nice. My wife gets the Puerto Rican food. It has the blood sausage, pig stomach soup, and bacalao fried dough. I like the fried bacalao and the pig stomach. It cooks with yellow bean base. Those are savory. Love the festival. The organizer pull a lot of heart include donation to the homeless to assemble the longest Cuban sandwich.

The day was beautiful, the weather cooperated beautifully, vendors and crafts a plenty, the he people were great/friendly. We missed this festival the past 2 years in a row, both since we came on the wrong day and the wrong time! So we finally made it and did it. It would be so much better if they offered a sampler plate with the top 5 to compare side by side, and some beer, sangria something for the palate Not sure we will go back next year, but maybe we will make our own sandwich sampler throughout the Bay Area!

Also, I got to talk to the proprietor of Brown Bag Coffee who I met when he first opened a tiny window in a shop in Safety Harbor. Now, he sells all over town. Plus, there were a plethora of local artists with very unique and fun artworks including paintings, pottery, jewelry and more! Coffee samples were plentiful and tasty! Plus, they were silk screening shirts right on site! Life is great with a celebration of local art and passionate coffee crafting!

How many chances do you get to see Milky Chance, Jenny Lewis, Awolnation, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Passion Pit, Ryan Adams, Pretty Lights, Cold War Kids, Hozier, Pixies, and the Strokes at the same festival in Tampa?!?! FOOD TRUCKS: The food trucks and craft beer tents offered a nice alternative to the usual concert concession snacks. The trucks didn't mark up their menu prices so I paid $9 for three tacos the first night and $15 for a grilled cheese sandwich and tots the second night. Beverages (not sold by the trucks) were a little pricier. $4 for 20oz water or sodas, $8 for domestic beers and $15 for craft beers. CARNIVAL RIDES: I only made time to ride the Ferris Wheel, but unlimited free carnival rides were available both days of the music festival. ~The Not So Great~ DATES: I work on Friday until 5:30pm so I missed the first half of Milky Chance. Judging by the crowd I'd say others were in the same boat. A Saturday/Sunday festival would be easier to attend. CONCERT OVERLAPS: I loved that there were four stages at Big Guava, but I hated having to choose between two great bands when there were overlaps on the concert schedule. Most bands only got 45-60 minutes stage so I decided to see Milky Chance instead of Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness and I saw Jenny Lewis instead of Awolnation. FAIR WEATHER FANS: In general the audience was lame. People seemed more interested in taking selfies than actually listening to the music. The free tickets were a nice perk, but I would have gladly paid for my tickets to see Hozier and Milky Chance. I probably would have gotten the 2-Day Early Bird "Pit Pass" so that I could stand in the pit section instead of the general admission section. This was the best deal at $109, but you had to be willing to purchase your ticket before the line up was announced. If you purchased tickets after the early bird specials you may have paid $55-$80 for a one day general admission or pit pass.

The river and the park around is a lovely area to walk around on any given day. Today was pretty warm and humid so it was kind of hard to stay out for too long, oh well it's Tampa after all. There was a nice selection of art and different vendors, much like other weekends markets in the Bay Area. For food, though I think it was lacking options. there was donuts booth, coffee truck, hotdogs, kale/ green juice and not much more to choose from. I hope that in the future they will offer more healthy foods and just more options for people to eat and want to hang around.
