The Dole Whip is no hype! Alas, Tasty Creationz has me finding DIY recipes to copy it when I get home. My girl loved her pineapple/mango twist, and we enjoyed our pineapple twists too. It looks like Tasty Creation has alternate different recipes throughout the season, so enjoy! If you're on vacation and need a cool treat, this is right off the bike path and a hop, skip, and a jump from three campgrounds. There is also minimal parking, maybe 5 spots, so consider walking or biking here. The food menu wasn't shabby, and we'll try it next time we're lucky enough to be at Silver Lake. read more

Stopped by on our way back from the Dunes, and we were surprised by the amount of unique flavors offered. Try the honey lavender - I promise it's delicious! The attendants mistakenly put my daughter's scoop in a cup, although she had asked from a cone. They remedied by offering a new scoop! Great service! Looks like the majority of the workers are younger and/or high school/college kids - super courteous and polite. We'll return everytime we visit the Dunes! read more

We were excited because they advertise that they have Country Dairy ice cream and with family members who have dye allergies, we know Country Dairy is a safe option. After ordering Supercow, we realized that it didn't look right and asked an employee and was told that they substituted Country Daisy's Supercow for Scooperman (that is full of dye). Extremely upset that they did not make it known that they were serving something other than advertised that could lead to serious health issues for inviduals with allergies. Would not recommend but if you decide to stop here and have any allergies, ask before ordering. read more

The ice cream is good, unfortunately no one was wearing masks. To top it all off the two employees we interacted with (one claimed to be the manager) were extremely rude. As we were pulling out the second employee came out to pick up trash left on a table by the "manager", she waved it at us like we had left it there. We threw our trash away. Awesome ice cream store! Man I wish this place was located in my hometown! This place was just one the best unexpected stop we made. After taking a ride out on Mac Woods tour of the dunes, which btw is a MUST if you're in the area, we decided to surprise the kids with ice cream BEFORE dinner. Yup, we're on vacation lets throw all rules out the window. The kids were thrilled. Dad and I didn't even want anything but we ended up filling our mouths full of the delicious things that this place puts out. Kids chose cones, and a ice cream/slush mix where they fill a cup with soft serve then fill it with slush flavor of your choice. Of course the kids chose a blue flavor. We also got an order of mozzarella sticks which came with ranch or marinara sauce, and a "bucket of fries". Get this, the fries came in an actual sand bucket- complete with a shovel. How cool is that!? The kids loved it. Nothing like a take home souvenir. Not to mention, it was a large order of fries, totally worth every penny of the $5. They have a large food menu with really decent prices and the ice cream choices are nearly limitless. The owner was just a peach. Laid back cool and super friendly. I was really happy to strike up on conversation with her while we were there. Again, man I wish this place was located in my neighborhood. I'd be a regular. Thanks for the cool treats and good eats. We plan on coming back next year to camp at Silver Lake, so til then I'll look forward to more ice cream before dinner! read more

It was a little pricey but honestly the food was so good. The staff was super friendly and looked pretty clean. I loved that the bucket of fries was a practical shovel and bucket to go play in the sand with. Probably the best food we had in this area. read more

I didn't have a Yelp account and literally created an account to make this review. We came here multiple times with different groups of people throughout our entire 2 week vacation and every time were met with attitude from the only lady above 16 there (assuming it's the owner). Really high prices and don't want to support a place that is ran by such a short tempered woman who is angry at everything. After having an attitude every time we came... today she finally snapped and yelled at us threw ice cream in the garbage, slammed the door shut, and was very aggressive. You work in customer service, I don't really know what to tell you. We did nothing wrong and she continuously had an attitude no matter who I came with and when it was. Blue raspberry slush and black cherry ice cream are the best things they have but rest assured we will never be back. Spend your money at a place that won't treat you like garbage in the process. read more

Awesome, awesome soft serve ice cream. I'm guessing what they do is take the standard soft serve cream, add a few pounds of butter, and then put it into the soft serve machine. It's that rich and creamy. My cardiologist disapproves, but my taste buds say, "F' him!" Another Cardiologist Disapproved item that is the chili cheese fries. It's difficult to make chili cheese fries that suck, but the CCF here are extra decadent. I don't know if they are extra chili, extra cheesy, or extra something else, but the results are extra good. We stopped in after disappointing ice cream stops around Silver Lake. We all had hard ice cream and it was excellent. They had other food like burgers and dogs, but we didn't try that. Comfortable clean outdoor seating with shade and friendly service. Just wanted to add an update, stopped by for a burger and it was excellent. Really nice people working there. read more

Went here for dinner and ice cream. We ordered a burger and fries and some nachos and cheese. The bun was cold and cheese wasn't melted in the burger, the nachos were chips with shredded cheese on top then microwaved. We ate the burger and fries but I took the nachos up and said we thought this was chips with nacho (liquid) cheese, can I return these, I was very nice about it.The women who was either the manager or the owner said it clearly states what kind of nachos these are on the menu (it just says real cheese) she goes on to say it's not there fault I can't read with an attitude. I said I didn't eat the nachos, I would like my money back and for you to stop talking to me now. She slammed the 5 on the counter and shut the window. I wouldn't have went back anyways because the food was terrible, but needless to say will never return due to the service. That women has no business in the customer service industry if she can't handle a customer nicely asking for their money back on one item. read more
