Went for a Homeschool field trip. This place was so awesome and educational. Definitely recommend. The farm is so big and beautiful. Not only was it so affordable they included complimentary ice cream cones and chocolate milk which was a highlight. If you live around here I'm sure you've had and or at least seen this nostalgic logo, but until a few years ago even I didn't know not only could you visit the farm, you could eat there! Want some more, the staff is always kind and patient, that have games and a playground to keep kids entertained, their milk is incredible as is their unbelievably fresh on site beef, and you can even treat yourself to a cute souvenir and some homemade ice cream before you go. A dairy, an ice cream shop, a restaurant, and a farm all wrapped into one place. As I walked up to the ice cream case and debating between several flavors, I was told they don't make milkshakes from hand-dipped ice cream. WHAT??!! I've never known any ice cream place to do that. Instead, they only make milkshakes out of soft serve. Milkshakes out of soft serve I usually avoid because it's like ordering a pizza to only get a Hot Pocket. But since this was at a dairy, I gave it a try. And this milkshake was rich and super chocolatey as it was made out of chocolate soft serve. You can also purchase an endless glass of chocolate milk or it comes with an entree. And the chocolate milk is the cow's moo! My wife wanted to pet the cows and take the tour but it was at a time we were unavailable and a very questionable price. I could not verify if it was $150 per group (surely) or $150 a person. Great food, decent prices and meals come with bottomless chocolate milk! We ordered burgers, hot dog kids meal and a kids burger. The hot and spicy burger was delicious topped with chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomatoe, crispy jalapeños, ghost pepper cheese and a side of pickles, cheese curds and you can visit the condiment station to add your ketchup, mustard, mayo! The bacon cheeseburger was loaded with bacon! It has a buttery bun and it was nice and toasted. Kids meal came with a decent size burger. Cheese is extra and so is the lettuce, tomato and pickles. The hot dog kids meal was your traditional hotdog! Both meals had options for chips or applesauce and both came with bottomless chocolate milk in cute souvenir cups and a small ice cream! For the burgers- they are all cooked well. You cannot change that. They come with chips, coleslaw, potato salad or applesauce. They assign you a number, you take a seat and display that number. My hubby has been to Country Dairy numerous times so he was anxious for me to visit. There are definitely some very unique things about Country Dairy but based on our food I'm giving this visit 3 stars. You stand in line to place your order then a staff member brings your food to the table. I wasn't especially excited about this. They give you a small cup for all you can drink chocolate milk. I'm not a milk drinker so I told hubby to get me a cup for soda. One sip of hubby's chocolate milk completely changed my mind. It was so creamy and rich in flavor. In fact, I may have over indulged in three cups. For our meals, Hubby and I shared two sandwiches. I ordered a French dip and he ordered a burger. Both came with cheese curds and a pickle. My sandwich didn't have much meat but lots of bun. It had good flavor but overall was a disappointment. Hubby's burger wasn't anything special either. I did enjoy the cheese curds though. For dessert, I stood in another line to order ice cream. I ordered our go to - a turtle sundae. Not only was it small for the price, but it had crushed up pecans! I was expecting nice big tasty pecans. Honestly, this was probably the most disappointing pecan sundae I've ever had. The place is very laid back. Almost like a fast food place since you order, find a table, and then the food is delivered to you. I didn't notice anything spectacular about the ambiance. Although it was nice to see horses outside our window. There is seating inside and out which gives options and you can tour the dairy farm. If you like this type of experience, try County Dairy. Holy cow! Literally, there are cows here at Country Dairy, and you can see them grazing in the fields -- some even up-close, depending on how close they want to get to you when you're visiting. Country Dairy was a cool little stop on our road trip from Ludington to Indiana. We came to see cows and play on the playground, and we left happy. Yes, they have a little playground here for kids, and it's by the restaurant patio, so the parents/caregivers can sit and enjoy their food while the kids play. Speaking of food, you'll find all-things dairy here, including lots of different types of cheese, ice cream, milk, chocolate milk, ice cream cakes and more. You'll also find a coffee bar, lots of baked goods, candies, sandwiches and grab-and-go items, and a gift shop with lots of paraphernalia with cow and/or dairy puns on it. We found a cute little cow plushie that we just had to take home. There are tours at certain time, but we didn't visit to go on a tour. This was a nice place to stop and stretch our legs, get some coffee, see some cows, play a bit and get back on the road. But if we come back, Id definitely want to check out the tour! read more

I was out with a couple friends for lunch and ordered the taco salad, which was supposed to be my favorite and was extremely disappointed to find it was mostly lettuce and very little other taco salad items, i.e. meat, tomato, onion, etc. For they price they charged, all I feel I got was a head of lettuce. read more

When riding my bike along a local bike path, I came across this dairy. It looked interesting so I stopped. I am glad I did. When you walk in, the interior has a nice amount of seating and has the feel I would expect from a dairy. It was very clean. As you walk in, there is an ice cream counter and also a food counter. They have a number of different sandwiches to choose from. I ordered the Brutus Burger which had ham, bacon, cheddar, monterey jack, pepper jack and 1/2 lb of beef. It was cooked perfect and came with a few cheese curds and chips. The best part is it also comes with bottomless chocolate milk. It was some of the best chocolate milk I have ever tasted. The cashier was also very friendly and helpful on questions I had. And the lady that brought the food was full of smiles. After eating I checked out all their foods that were available. They had a nice assortment of cheeses, ice cream, milk, butter and meats available to purchase. I picked up some sausages that looked great and look forward to eating them later when I am back home. Overall, this was a great find and I am glad that I stopped. If you are within the area, you should drive this way and grab a bite. read more

POOR COWS Went on their tour. So upset to learn their cows never set foot on grass, graze or are allowed to walk. They have both dairy and cows raised for meat. All kept in dirty, overcrowded pens, with no space to walk or access to walk on or eat grass. It was very emotional to witness this. I know it's common, but that doesn't make it right. Any humans with any sort of respect and compassion for animals that they profit from and make their living from, should have the upmost respect for their animals. Even a small boy on the tour said: why are the cows so dirty? My own children were very upset and emotional after they saw how these cows lived. They have so much land, let the cows graze!!! read more

Date of visit - 2017 -We decided to do the tour as a last minute idea for something to do. I am very glad we did. We did the last tour of the day (3:00) and there were probably about 9 people total on the tour. The tour starts out in 'moo school' where you watch a short video about the operation of the farm. After the video you are taken by wagon to the processing/bottling plant. They were not bottling today because they are doing some upgrading of the machines but our guide explained the process nicely. We then got to tour a few of the cattle barns. You can pet the young calves and you can tell they are used to it because they seem to like the attention! Very cute! We also got to see a couple of baby calves that were born over the last couple of days. The tour was very interesting and informative. At the end of the tour we got to sample some cheese curds called "moochies." We liked them so well that we ended up buying some in the dairy store/gift shop. We were also given small cups to use for bottomless milk drinks. The chocolate milk is delicious! We also tried some ice cream and my husband had a peanut butter milk shake which he really enjoyed. I tried his milk shake and have to say it was probably the best peanut butter milk shake i have ever tasted. If you are looking for something educational and enjoyable to do, take the tour. The price was very reasonable. Our family of 4 spent only $26 to get in. We have been to Fair Oaks Farms in Indiana and while it is a much bigger operation, this one is more personal and you get to pet cows!!! read more

This is by far my favorite dairy in west Michigan. The burgers and dairy products are fresh and delicious. It is self service but always clean and inviting. We do the farm tours a couple times during summer and fall.The "Horsin' Around" one this week was fun and very interesting. Both young women guides were fun and friendly and we could feel the enthusiasm while they talked about the farm history and the animals. We never felt rushed and we all felt like we were the sole purpose of their job. Our whole family thanks all of you for an awesome experience while visiting Country Dairy! Although the cheeseburger was exceptional, the fact that the menu and on my last visit you could get unlimited milk, was a disappointment, it even says on the menu unlimited milk but their milk machines that keep the milk at a cold temperature had signs on them when I went for my unlimited milk which was limited to ONE pint! I didn't come to Country Dairy for the food, although it was good, I came for the unlimited milk and they didn't offer it anymore even though the menu said that it was unlimited! The lady behind the counter was kind of rude and that spoiled the whole visit. After we purchased lunch, I bought several items from the store and 2 small adult size ice creams for my kids. They were excited to try 2 flavors. She would only allow them 1 flavor for the the 3 scoop dish. I went up later to purchase chocolate milk and she complained that my purchase was not over $5 and that they would be charged by the credit card company, did I have cash? If you have time, take the tour and meet some of the cows (especially the calves) in person to pet...although when the cows are out in the field by the parking lot, you could just go pet them for free. ;-) They sell breakfast, lunch, and I think dinner. THE BEST ice cream!!!! We happened to drive by and decided to stop in. I am so happy we did. They have a fast casual restaurant inside. We only had the ice cream and chocolate milk. Everything is from the farm. The ice cream is creamy and tastes very fresh. We had the blueberry cheesecake ice cream with a vanilla base ice cream. Very good! Chunks of cheesecake and a great flavored vanilla ice cream. The chocolate milk is to die for. I am not a milk drinker, but I tried this and it was amazing. It taste like fresh chilled cocoa. The farm is along a bike path so many bikers stop in to refuel. The farm does tours. They have a meat deli you can take home items. Overall, a great place to visit if in the area. read more

Tour: very informative and interesting. Interesting to see how farms like this operate and produce the food we eat. Food: so good. We ate lunch and my son had a hamburger which he loved. I had the turkey and slaw panini which was good. My other two kids had hot dogs. The ice cream is so creamy and delicious. And I drank so much milk it wasn't funny. So so so so good. Meat/cheese to go: bought some rib eye steaks, cheese and beef sticks to go. Cooked the steaks tonight and so much better than store bought steaks. A lot more flavor and tender. We loved this place! My husband, mother, and toddler all had a fantastic day here. We arrived for the 12pm farm tour and enjoyed the history, stories, tour of the milk process, visit with cows, heifers, and newborns. It was very informative and had great pictures opportunities. You can even touch the small newborns. Free milk samples with tour packages. There is a playground for the kids, hand washing stations, plenty of outdoor seating, and AMAZING food. They use all phases of cattle life cycle in their business. Fresh milk, cheese, hamburgers, etc. Everyone needs to try their homemade pizza! Fresh and flavorful!!! read more

The staff unfortunately could not answer questions about certain meat on their menu about whether they contain nitrates or not, which means it probably does because if it was nitrate free that would be something to advertise. Freshest burgers & best shakes/malts in West Michigan! I have lived in West Michigan all my life and only found out about Country Dairy a few years ago. What a great find. It is everything dairy so if you are a vegan, this place is not for you. But for those of us who like burgers & dairy products, it is the best. Burgers are great and they give you cheese curds instead of fries plus bottomless creamy white or chocolate milk. I usually can't pass up their chocolate malts, however, because they are so good! Great ice cream cones too. They do tours & stuff for kids too. They are closed on Sundays, but anytime we are driving through, it is a must stop. read more

Great pizza. We had the BBQ pizza and I was concerned getting a pizza from a dairy store, but we were not disappointed. We also did the tour. It was ok. Ten minutes looking at a machine that sorts bottles was a bit much, and then we were hurried through the area where the cows were bing milked. The tour group was over capacity, poor planning.
