Stumbled across this Japanese restaurant hidden among the rows of establishments along Kalayaan Avenue. I wanted to rest a bit after my chiro session and thought I'd give this one a try.
I like that it's secluded and allows me privacy. It's a small restaurant, with space for only six tables. I am the only customer right now, and normally, I would be wary of restaurants without patrons, but today is a lazy Saturday afternoon after all.
I saw that this restaurant was built to provide educational assistance to the children of the employees of the Tat Filipinas Golf Club, which has since closed. Another good reason to try it.
I ordered a buta shogayaki set meal - pork in ginger sauce. A favourite. The taste is close to authentic. I just find it a bit too savoury / salty, but I think this will be normal levels of saltiness for most people.
The price is just right. I think this is a good hidden Japanese restaurant for a quiet meal or even a casual meeting. read more
