Isa tatted the red sun with the black moon to go along with my falling Icarus

This has been my favorite tattoo experience yet! When I sent in an inquiry through their website, they were quick to respond and the communication was clear. When I went to the shop on appointment day, I was greeted warmly and felt welcomed. I normally get hostile or awkward vibes when I go into a tattoo shop but this was not the case at all. The hospitality continued as they continued talking to me to ensure my comfortability and let me have a good amount of snacks and water. I was tatted by Isa and she was amazing! She was very transparent and clear about how she was going to tattoo me and throughout the whole process, explained what each step she was doing and to my face, each time, showed me that she was opening a new, sterile needle. She was very clean and changed out her gloves frequently during our session as well. Along with getting a high quality tattoo, this place overall made me feel safe and comfortable. I highly recommend others looking for a tattoo artist to check this place out.

The apprentice Melii turned my scar into a work of art! She guided me through my first tattoo with kindness, empathy, and care. She told me every time she was going to do something and put so much effort into making sure my tattoo looked exactly how I was picturing it. It was also reasonably priced! Highly recommend Tattoo Culture.

You won't regret scheduling an appointment with this dynamic shop! I was traveling from out of state and was planning to get my very first tattoo. Isa scheduled time to meet with me via FaceTime to hear what I was looking for. She made great recommendations and designed the tattoo, allowing me to see it in advance of my trip. And she let me make last minute changes on arrival. Service was phenomenal and the shop was so relaxing and fun. She went above and beyond and made my first experience unforgettable. Quality, price, design, cleanliness, and tattoo are all 5 stars.

This place is where the magic happens Jensen morales aka "GHOST" is an amazing artist. Would highly recommend this place to others looking to get tattooed

They told us they get tons of walk-ins in that location because of how many people are in town for business and travel. First things first: the shop itself looked super clean, super organized, and really well done. Bright, professional, tons of flash on the walls, and everything felt sanitary and put together. We each got our zodiac symbols to represent our friendship. My artist was Sam Layzelle, and he was great. Easy to talk to, professional, confident. The tattoo was small (inside of my ankle so it definitely was not painless), and it only took about 10 minutes. He worked quickly and cleanly, and it was over super quick. Both artists were chatting with us while working, and my friend and I were getting tattooed at the same time, which made it even more fun. Sam mentioned he travels to Scranton, PA for the tattoo convention there, so we ended up talking about Pennsylvania and where we're from. It felt relaxed and personal instead of rushed. Each tattoo was $140 plus tip. If you're in Adams Morgan and feeling brave (or just a little impulsive), I'd absolutely recommend stopping in.

Asked if they do jewelry changes ($15) and you can bring your own jewelry. I just find that if it falls out once it will again so just get something new. No problem there. I have popped in before without buying anything to always check what jewelry they have. They were nice everytime. This is my first time getting a service. I got a good CZ side set clicker ($30). He let me know it was plated. I had no problem with that honestly. The piercer super nice and quick. We had some quick conversation and she was cool. Explained everything. Got the jewelry in without rushing but it was fast. I did tip so I was all in $60 but I wasn't mad at it. I would recommend them and would go again. There is a lot of art on the walls for possible tattoo inspo and it is a vibe. When you walk to the back all the artists and piercers have their rooms decorated and I honestly loved that. When I walked in the front desk person (I wish I knew names sorry) was helping someone choose a tattoo and was helping him out but very quickly came to me. I've seen the same people for over a year now and they have been nice even if I haven't bought anything.

The tattoo that I requested was very simple and small, and they could not have executed this more perfectly. Furthermore, this was my first tattoo, and they put my newbie nerves at ease immediately. Pros: Price: The tattoo that I received cost $160 (pre tip). They ask for a deposit of 50% in advance, and then have you pay the rest onsite. I believe that $160 is the minimum price for any tattoo here. Tripp provided me with a quote in advance, per my request, and was very prompt and direct about the pricing as soon as I provided him with an example of what I wanted, which I really appreciated. I initially felt like this price was a bit high, however I called several highly rated tattoo parlors in the area, and this was the lowest price for my simple tattoo. So comparatively, this place checks out, price-wise! I am glad I paid to have it done at Wasteland, as the experience was incredible. Accuracy: The tattoo was executed exactly as I requested-- I couldn't have asked for it to be any more accurate, honestly. It was simple, but I think with simple designs, any flaws are even more visible, in a way? So I was very pleased with how it came out. Friendliness: I had a very pleasant experience here. Banter throughout the tattooing process, I felt like my artist and I were just friends hanging out. There were upbeat R&B oldies playing, which put me right at ease. Pain: Truly painless, to be honest. I was shocked by how little pain I experienced. Honestly, it was reminiscent of a small scratch. Also super quickly completed. Simplicity of booking: Booking this appointment was so easy. I figure that this is partly due to the simplicity of my design, however I was still surprised how quickly they got me in. I was able to secure an appointment within a week of reaching out. When I showed up, they were ready for me, and the entire experience felt very streamlined and efficient. Clean studio: The studio was clean, modern, spacey, and private. The bright colors and upbeat music put me at ease immediately. Masks were worn throughout the process. Instructions on treatment/self care of tattoo: My artist provided me with detailed instructions as to how to care for my tattoo. I asked a lot of beginner, kinda silly questions, but never felt belittled, and felt like I was being taken seriously and really cared for just in the way that my questions were addressed. The care process was honestly very easy, and within a couple of days, I felt that it was pretty much healed up! A super easy and fun process :) Cons: Truly ZERO from me! I am so pleased with my tattoo and impressed with the overall experience offered at Wasteland tattoos. I am recommending to all of my friends in the DC area! Go here! You will not be disappointed, and your expectations will surely be exceeded, as mine were.

The waiting room and reception area is dark and moody, while the studio is bright and roomy. There was music playing but tons of great artists at work, and it felt like a quirky brain trust in the best way. Working with Malvi was a dream. We communicated online beforehand and she is super professional and sweet. She gave me a price estimate and really put a lot of thought into what I wanted. Once I got there, she reviewed the details and then went and drew a sketch. In just 30 minutes she had a beautiful design created! She then printed the design out in multiple sizes so I could see what size I wanted best. I loved that she came prepared with options because I always feel bad asking for more. Once it was time to start, she had several outlines ready so again I felt comfortable asking for small changes. She was really thoughtful and careful with the placement. The set up was also very clean and thoroughly prepared. Malvi was very gentle during the tattooing process and gave me lots of space to ask for breaks and stretches. It was incredible watching her tattoo- she is a master! The end result was the most gorgeous tattoo I have out of four. She was very clear with the aftercare and how to contact her about touch ups. I feel like she is here for me through the healing process. If you're considering where to get your next tattoo, Cry Baby and Malvi are excellent options!
