It became a city in 1910. There are two high schools; Cranston East and Cranston West. In the western side of the city, it's a little bit more rural with nicer/larger houses; it's the ritzy side of Cranston. In the eastern side, it's more suburban to urban. I grew up in the eastern side. Schools were ok but nothing to write home about. There were plenty of things to do and very close proximity to the capital city, Providence. A popular spot is the Garden City Shopping plaza. The annual St. Mary's Feast Festival which started in 1905, is a popular event; it has a carnival, vendors, food, and fireworks. What I loved about growing up there was the diversity. Del's Lemonade is a very popular and tasty frozen lemonade; its first stand opened in Cranston. I had good memories growing up there; with everything, there are pros and cons. The overall general consensus, it is a place people want to move to.

It was a really bizarre and quite frankly, pointless protocol. On top of that, they don't actually have their seats spaced out 6ft apart so it doesn't really make any sense. Other than that, the people here are nice, but the wait times are quite long.

This memorial is situated just steps from 15 LaSalle Square along Hasbro place at the convergence of Empire, Fountain and Sabin Streets is a large monument that consists of 12 granite stones, 8 granite benches, 3 poles displaying the flags of the United States, Rhode Island, and Providence, and a large circular granite planter all surrounded by a concrete and brick plaza outside of the Hasbro Inc. administration building. It is a nice peaceful place where many locals, visitors and downtown workers take time for lunch, brunch, a break or just a stroll. Located just across from AMP (Amica Mutual Pavilion, former Dunkin Donuts center), it is seen and visited by thousands of people every week.

Every year I have to go down to city hall to get my pup re-licensed. No big deal, especially…read morebecause no matter how busy I've seen the offices, I've always been in and out of there quickly- like within 10 minutes at the MOST! And the staff have been friendly and helpful every time. I've also had to go in person to take care of a ticket, and the woman at that particular desk was kind and helpful, too. My only complaint was that the ticket said to go to one location, but when I got there, I was redirected back to where I had started off. No big deal, just a bit annoying. Even on the phone, the city staff are helpful and kind. In one instance, I had forgotten to pay something (can't remember what now), but the woman on the phone very kindly helped me get the information I needed, and made sure I knew I had to call her back with the payment confirmation by a certain time (well before closing) to make sure I wouldn't be penalized. I was so grateful for the heads up! There's a ton of info on the city website, but if you have to go down in person, it's not an unpleasant experience. :-)

For electric?! Never in my life have I heard of such, well perhaps, maybe as a security deposit for a place to live. With that said, I moved from Mansfield nearly one month ago, and I've yet to have the deposit returned less my final bill, which by the way, was mailed to my new address almost immediately. It's funny, when it comes to billing, agencies like these are quite timely, but when it comes to returning other people's money, things somehow are caught up in the bureaucracy of the system.
