For me, Pite Havsbad was in its prime approximately 15 years ago. It was a place I went to with friends during my teenage years to hang at the beach among other things. Over the years a lot has changed, much to the worse side of things. But having stayed away from it from a good number of years, particularly in the summer, me and the wife went there with our youngest son and our new Jack Russel puppy Leo. I was a bit surprised as to what had happened since the last time I was there during a hot summer's day (we're talking years ago here), and the surprise was all positive. After a while we were in need of lunch so we sat down at the outdoor patio of the restaurant Tavernan, a small and quite cozy place serving pizza, salads and a bit of barbeque. They had fairly few items on the menu, which I absolutely love! Do a few things and do them good! I had my eyes set for a pizza, in particular Italiano with tomato sauce, mozzarella, parma ham and arugula. My wife had a Vesuvio that she shared with our son. They prepared the food quick and efficient, and the flavor was pretty much the best pizza I've had in the vicinity of this town - ever. The bottom was thin and crisp with fluffy edges, perfect tomato sauce, rich and tasty mozzarella and crispy arugula. This was pizza how it's supposed to be! Really happy with the food and I can really recommend it. Left happy and satisfied. read more
