I worked for Enercon for about twenty years and now that I've put several years of retirement…read morebetween then and now, I'll offer an opinion. It's a good company, particularly if you want to do nuclear plant work. Although Enercon has branched out into other engineering areas, contract work for numerous nuclear plant utilities is their main gig. They have several offices around the country which serve clients on a regional basis. The Kennesaw office (Atlanta) is the largest and hosts the corporate headquarters. Transfer between offices is common so your chances of relocating are good if that's what you want. The company also has quite a few employees in staff augmentation positions at various client sites. In terms of work environment, Enercon is fairly people-oriented and encourages a somewhat casual but professional environment. It's an employee-owned company and thus offers a healthy stock distribution program (ESOP) as well as quarterly gainshare, assuming a profitable quarter. Base salaries are competitive in the industry. Enercon is a large company but not the largest player in the field so they have to offer attractive pay packages to keep people happy. The company also hires non-regular employees on a temporary basis. Expect to work with highly qualified and motivated people, and expect to be regularly evaluated against that standard. The negatives? In my time, there was quite a bit of unpaid overtime required. If a project was over budget or behind schedule, the folks assigned to that project often bore an unfair burden of getting the balance sheet above water. This is not unusual in the industry though. Expect to sacrifice some weekends. There's also a lot of travel, generally short three or four day trips to client sites but also longer trips, sometimes with short notice. You're expected to travel on your own time, getting on a plane Sunday to be there Monday morning for example. Overall, I left Enercon with a positive feeling. Lots of trials and exasperation over the years but mostly it was a good experience.

I brought my paperwork in on February 5th and it wasn't submitted until April 15th. I sent several emails and left several voicemails over the months and occasionally I'd get back an email response which generally was just a sentence. On April 15th, watching the IRS website still show that I didn't have anything submitted. I went to TurboTax and did it myself. It wasn't until I tried to submit it through TurboTax which got rejected because they had submitted it just in time. Mind you they submitted it but I never actually saw it first to inspect. I ended up paying GA taxes which again was never communicated. I only found out about it because I logged onto the Georgia department of revenue and found out that I had a balance.. After the 15th I wasn't able to get a hold of anyone to get my paperwork back and a copy of my returns. They told me that they would leave it at the front desk. I drive over there and grabbed it from the nice receptionist. Got home and realized the folder was missing all kinds documents. So I emailed them asking where my other documents were and the next day I had to go back and pick up the rest of my documents from the receptionist. To show how chaotic this place is, they didn't upload my submitted returns to their document portal until after I requested it.

Remember, we have paid our retainer, and we have paid every invoice to this point, paying them electronically day of receipt. After noting she's completed our personal returns Ellen's email turns angry. I'm deciding whether to post Ellen's response because it carries financial threats regarding our filings, and what I perceive as ultimatums. I will share the email with anyone who requests a copy, however, I will fall short of posting at this time because it is quite concerning and I have to consider long term what our options our. When I requested our Personal taxes, as well as documentation that they've been filed, Which is what I had to demand regarding our corporate taxes as well, below is one of several email responses from Ellen, again, I described another above. As a side note, regarding Ellen's message below, I asked for her to tell me what part of my review was not 100% spot on, to which she did not address. Why would you want anything else from me? Perhaps you would be happier with someone else doing them. So remember, Ellen has all of our personal information. We're coming up on our filing deadline, We've paid Ellen's retainer and she told us Friday she had finished our returns. This is her response. My response to Ellen came this morning, 9/25/24. Ellen, If Karen and I don't have answers by noon regarding our personal returns, I will post your response, verbatim, without hesitation. We refuse to play games with you over a matter as critical as our state and federal taxes. Your continued responses are emotionally based responses. Your responses are void of resolution. Your responses, rather, are combative, circuitous and misrepresentative of the facts. You're holding Karen and me hostage as to how you move forward? This is gravely concerning and highly unethical. Karen and I have grave concerns as to how you've responded to us in a highly threatening manner. Karen and I have grave concerns as to the context of your recent emails. Your threatening tones from your email response where you first write that you've seen my fact based review on yelp, to you feeling it necessary to put in writing "Why Should I?" There are professional and ethical concerns that Karen and I both share regarding your actions, your words, these concerns run so very deep. When we finally receive a response from you it's laden with threats? You said in an email that you completed our personal taxes last Friday. If Karen and I do not receive a copy of our personal taxes by noon today, if we do not get notice today that you have filed our personal returns by noon today, I will share this email thread and seek outside assistance for resolution. Karen and I will do what we need to do to address this ethical and professional concern. Your threats regarding the critical nature of our personal information, our state and federal considerations, are causing Karen and me great stress and undue worry as evident in the emails and calls I initiated the week of September 9. I will not address this further with you. We are at the mercy of your intentions and actions regarding our personal filings, and that is not good for Karen and me. With warm regards, That is her response after I requested a copy of our personal returns as well as a time stamp of the filing. I filed a complaint with this board w/o 9/16. If you are familiar with accounting firms, many, like Ellen, create a portal to share information. To this date, nothing has been uploaded into the Portal from Ellen, no update, not a thing. Remember how many communications I had for a week just asking for an update? We have already paid Ellen several thousand dollars and we are still waiting for personal returns she said we'd have by 9/11/24
