The day before we did appointment for my friend, over the phone we explained that my friend has w2 and 1099 form, and asked estimated price, On the phone he gave us $200-250 for all. My friend went today, she started process do doubt about Unexpected fial service fee. Because my friend went there with my recommendation, also trusted the guy who made appointment. My friend shocked see the $620 TAX FEE at the end. The asked about phone confirmation price, lady who doing tax made some excuse and slip away from topic. My friend shocked condition ended up paying tax fee with last money from credit card. Please be careful, do not let system take advantage from you and from your relatives, friend whom you also recommend Taxpros service. Good reviews. Lousy customer service. Just moved to Dana Point and looking for a new CPA. I contacted them via email and they suggested I upload my last tax return into their portal. Which I did. They said someone would get back to me. Nothing. If they can't respond to a "hot" lead what will they do once they land you? And they now have all my personal financial information. read more

Well if you read my review and the message from the co-owner JJ, then you know he offered to to refund the cost of the return and find the errors that were made. I went to meet him and before I even spoke with the preparer the receptionist handed me a check. What can I say, no one is perfect and the preparer "fell on his sword" and showed me that he put a number (8K) on the wrong line. There were two other issues that either we didn't discuss or missed but he accepted full responsibility and agreed that the only one who is perfect is my wife. As for Tax Pros and JJ , that's the way to run a business. I was very impressed the way he reached out to me and handled the problem. I will try to change the stars to 3. Having read the wonderful reviews, especially of Jean's work, I made an appt. with him to do my tax return. The prior last two years I've had TERRIBLE preparers, despite them being CPAs. Jean is an EA (NOT a CPA) but is VERY informed. I liked him a lot - he's very personable and asks questions, which he should! Did an xln't job and I HIGHLY recommend him. It was a "drive" for me but that didn't deter me and I'm so glad I saw him. I walked out an hour later with my return copies and filed with IRS and State. I will return (pardon the pun). read more

I was referred to Taxpros Plus by a coworker who has been using their services for years. From the moment I called, I felt welcomed and I knew I was in the hands of professionals! They have always offered me convenient appointments (even when it was close to tax day and I'm sure they were very busy)! Jean has explained everything to me and answered all of my questions patiently and with exceptional knowledge. He even looked into a matter I had during a previous tax year for me although it was prior to me ever being their client. Their office is conveniently located right off the freeway in San Clemente. It's a little bit of a drive from where I work, but it is worth it. They have plenty of free parking so that's never an issue. They are prompt to respond via text or phone when I reach out to them. I even love the little reminders they send to me during the year - sometimes with a little (useful!) gift like a magnet with a beautiful photo of the pier, a glasses cloth, and a few others. I hate when businesses send you junk that is cheap and ends up in the trash - and this is never the case with these guys! Their fee was very reasonable and affordable. Hopefully I won't always wait until the last minute to call them, but I know if I do, they are still just as friendly and accommodating as if I were calling well before tax day! read more

Jean was my tax preparer and he went above and beyond by helping me file my taxes properly, which my last place didn't account for my first time home buyers credit from over a decade ago. I cannot recommend Taxpros Plus enough. They've helped me the last two plus years with my taxes and always answering my numerous questions with tons of valuable information and patience. They helped with my filing extension and then again with the actual filing until the very last minute (I provided them the information super late so that's on me). They're really nice! You get lots of snackys, soda, candy and even avocados! Good music playing too. Jerry does his thing typing stuff while you sit there and chill and then he puts your paperwork organized into folders for you. They aren't super expensive but not cheap either.
