If you're looking for a studio that allows volunteer parents to discipline students without the other child parents being present this is the studio for you. 3. If you're looking for a studio that allows kids to rip masks off other kids faces with no consequences this is the studio for you. 4. If you want a studio where kids are allowed to come to class after being home from school the same day with fevers this is the studio for you. ( This happened multiple times and the administration did nothing) my child had the kid who came with a fever cough in her face and thought it was funny. This is the studio for you. 5. If you're looking for a studio where you volunteer over 600 hours in one year and are still treated like crap by the owner this is the studio for you. 6. If you are looking for a studio where parent volunteers basically manipulate to get what they want for their kids and are allowed to get away with whatever they want even lying and having other families ask to leave the studio ( after ten loyal years) this is the studio for you. 7. If you want parent drama, bullying ( by students and parents), and false accusations made about you that are never even investigated this is the studio for you. WFYB I give 4 out of 5 But DDI 1 out of 5 This studio has changed over the years and not for the best. They let my daughter borrow tap shoes and said if she was interested they could recommend a place and brand. The teachers were great and gave the kids one on one attention. From the moment I walked into the studio and asked about the program i got such a warm feeling. It felt like they genuinely cared about every student and knew the families. Just so happened the person I spoke to ended up being her teacher for tap! Ms Eileen is so engaging with this group of 3-4 year olds!! I later found out she taught preschool for 14 years so I feel my daughter is in great hands. She makes it fun each week. They really learn too. "Mr. David" (office manager) greets everyone with a smile as if he is welcoming us to his home every week. He has been more than accommodating with tuition dues and flexible. OK so let me first say that I have called this company several times to find out information about…read morethe classes they offer. I feel it is important to check service levels not only by using the service, but "interviewing" the potential service provider. Each call resulted in ok service over the phone until this last one. I called CC & Company because I heard that they were one of the best in the area. I think the key here is "in the area". Does not mean best of the best. The classes are not actual dance classes for the little kids. Creative Movement is not something I am interested in. My children can get that at a day care. I want a dance company to provide REAL dance classes. They say that they are not able to teach kids so young. Well I could put well over a thousand youtube links that say that yes younger kids can be taught and be exceptional. Just disappointing that the daytime classes are not available and the variety is truly not there. When I asked the person on the phone for a referral of a studio in Raleigh that taught classes during the day for 4 year olds, she told me that she did not know of any other studios. This company has been open for how long and they don't know of any other companies. Just a tip. Customer service is not just about getting customers to buy from you, but being able to provide them what they need. That is what brings lifetime customers. I say CC & Company needs to really step it up and get with the market of younger children and the talent they have. I can find a video on Instagram or Pinterest and bring it to the staff and they will help me master it! The environment is positive and body image friendly. The owner really wanted it to be a safe space and this is what this is for me. My failures are not even addressed! Someone will come up to you and help you get into the position you were trying to do on your own so we can at least look at it and know what it feels to accomplish this move. I'm so proud of the owner and happy that she has creates this safe space in Greenville. They even offer other dance styles such as salsa, bachata, hip hop. EVERY DAY!! She has created hours that cater to those that work night shift and hours that cater to those that work early and need to be in bed by 7 like myself. We've been dancing at Main Street Dance for almost one year. Since my girls have lived and danced…read morein Raleigh, NC, Hampton, VA, and Stuttgart, Germany, this studio offers us a refreshing change with more personal attention. This is the smallest dance studio we have danced with, but its size is perfect, and the owner (Wendy Naylor) is very hands on with all aspects of the studio and very personable with girls and parents, which translates into more personal attention. This is particularly important when you begin to reach the 'tweens age (between 8-13), when girls become even more self-conscious and their self-esteem tends to plummet. There is the opportunity to be in an active company for the more advanced girls and dance camps offered in the summer for those who wish to give dance or the studio a try. One thing we liked is the Christmas recital held at Campbell University in December. It was a mini-show which lasted only about an hour, but gave the girls great experience mid-year performing onstage and in front of a live audience, something particularly helpful for young dancers. We were able to purchase a very good video of the Christmas recital produced in mass locally by a group of the parents for $5 each--sooo much easier than trying to video the recital ourselves too! Main Street offers dance leotards, tights and shoes, as well as snacks & water bottles, all on site for purchase at very reasonable prices, which is very convenient. And this year, our monthly tuition included the costs of our costumes for two dance recitals -- a Christmas recital and the Spring recital. This is VERY helpful to parents to spread the cost out over the year instead of having to make a down payment in the fall and a final costume payment in January, right after Christmas expenses, as we always have had to do at our other dance studios. There are two studio classrooms at Main Street Dance. The only downfall we've found with Main Street is that the facility is somewhat small, particularly one of the classrooms. It can be frustrating for the girls when there are a lot of girls in a class. Oh, one thing that is also very convenient. Wendy and Main Street have been around a while and are known by many of the other area dancers. Recently, when we had to purchase a pair of jazz shoes for my oldest daughter, we realized she didn't have her tights for dance photos. The owner of Releve, a dance shop in Holly Springs, picked up the phone, called Wendy, and had everything worked out for us in less than 3 minutes! This "network" of support for supplies is particularly helpful and convenient--and better than anything we ever had in the larger cities we danced in! We highly recommend Main Street! I didn't know what to expect as it was my first experience going to dance school and NOT being the dancer. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Ms. Rhonda mans the front desk and she is extremely friendly and knowledgable. She immediately made me feel comfortable and made sure I had everything we would need for class. They will order anything you might need and are not pushy about it in the least. My daughter is 2.5 and loves the class. She loves her teacher and each week looks forward to the class. The best part that even at her young age she is actually learning, which as a dancer at one time makes me so happy. OM told me this is not a school. It is not their responsibility to make sure our kids are safe. This after I found a baby sleeping in a running car in the parking lot. Parent was in a back room, with all adults, eating lunch. OM told me they were taking turns checking on him so he was ok, even though car could not be seen from the school door. She then reprimanded ME for saying I find that disgusting, in front of the babies sister. How would sister have felt if police came or if child was abducted or died??? If this is how they protect their own, its no wonder they refuse to protect ours. Chaos and disorganization are overwhelming. No one seems to have any solid grasp on how to run this place. They insist you wear certain colors and styles, but don't know what that is? Set up an event to size and order all outfits... but then no one knew what we needed. Ended up spending more than necessary bc they weren't sure!!! The kicker is my account information is trapped in their system! I tried to delete my account and cc information but it is not an option! What!!? How can they hold my card and personal information hostage. This is terrifying and unacceptable. No where on the site does it have the option to delete my account. Don't trust them. They are money hungry with no concern for your child.
