They also have a free haunted house called Spookville operating weekends in October. Friday and Saturday night they have your traditional haunt, but on Sundays during the day, it is sensory friendly for kids and scaredy cat adults who at least would like to see what is inside a hunted house without creepy scary jumping out characters. Great people, excellent nonprofit and Fantastic service for families trying to give kids a good time when money is stretched thin!!!

After moving here recently, I was very excited to find a used bookstore within my area. I drove almost half an hour to get to Annie's Book Stop, with my baby in tow. As I walked in, I was greeted with a "Kids books are in the back". Not even a hello. I said thank you and proceeded through the store. My baby then informed me that she needed to use the bathroom. As a potty training child prone to accidents, that's a general emergency for me. I asked the woman at the counter if there was a restroom my baby could use, I was answered with "Not a public one. You'll have to go to Wendy's". After a moment, realizing my child couldn't hold it, we left. As someone who works in a locally owned business, I know the importance of customer service. I can't say I'll ever return to this shop, which is probably a bigger disappointment for me than it will be for them.

They are very knowledgeable in terms of their inventory and what kind of things one might need to put an entire ensemble together. For a seemingly smallish place, they have an outstanding selection of both costume, themes, costume, accessories, and all at different price points. They're the only place around that carries a huge section of theatrical makeup - high-quality and far better than you would find in any pop-up Halloween shop or big box store. Highly recommended!

Our invitations are beautiful, and I know she has to try to upsell, but every.single.time we went she would not leave us alone about ordering other things. Way past the point of making a friendly suggestion... she was trying to pressure us into ordering napkins, thank you notes, blah, blah, blah from her. She also forgot to order an extra insert for my invitations. They got there before we sent them out, so not the end of the world, but she wouldn't really take responsibility for it. I don't know. My invitations turned out great, but Elaine became an annoyance that just prattled on and on.

When the invites arrived in we went to get them, first off we were missing countless envelopes( not her doing but still she should have checked before calling us and ordered them from the vendor) Haverhill was a hike from our home. When it came time to pay the balance she suddenly forgot that we got a discount, paid no sales tax and tried to charge us shipping charges. When we talked to her about this she started yelling at us. Who the heck did she think she is. We were spending a decent amount of $$ in her shop. She finally pulled our contract from her files and saw in her own handwriting that what we were saying was true. She "agreed to honor this, but said she hated feeling taken advantage of". Taken advantage of was right, but from the other side of the table. How many countless brides has she done this too?? I went to an great glass fusing class here! Erica, the owner, is friendly, patient and fun. She…read moreshowed me all the different kinds of things she makes in her studio - it's filled with lovely plates and bowls and pieces for jewelry. She then explained the different kinds of glass, showed me how to cut glass, and answered all of my MANY questions. With her help, I assembled what will become a glass bowl - a sheet of clear glass with colored glass placed on top of it in a pattern - she has LOTS of different kinds and colors of glass. Then I placed another sheet of clear glass on top. Erica carefully placed it in the kiln where it stayed for 30 hours! She sent me photos of it when it came out - it's a flat solid sheet, and it's gorgeous! Now she'll place it in a mold and put it in the kiln again to heat just enough for it to slump into a bowl shape. I can't wait!
