Wow! Though we should not be surprised, as this was not our first rodeo with Taylors, this necessary home improvement project went smoothly and we are extremely pleased with the result. When we bought our home 6 years ago, we knew we would have to replace all of the back windows as they were original to the home and beginning to rot. What we didn't know was that the front windows were almost worse than the others even though they were relatively new. These Renewal by Anderson windows were horribly difficult to open, installed extremely poorly, and terribly inefficient as far as heating and cooling were concerned. Our salesman, Charley, was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He was very patient, listened attentively and described every aspect of the job ahead. He helped us to choose the best options for our situation and we were pleasantly surprised that this project would cost less than we anticipated. Although we already trusted Taylors, Charley made us feel even more confident in our decision. Installation took 3 days due to the size of the project and number of windows. The crew was incredible all around. Super nice guys who barely stopped working even for a short lunch break. These men were so polite, courteous and clearly proud of the work they were doing. This wasn't a one and done crew. This was a crew of professionals who are craftsmen, and the end result shows. They did an outstanding job and we honestly can't say enough about how nice it was to have them here for those three days. We were dreading the install and it ended up being so much easier than anticipated because of the professionalism of this team. The windows themselves are amazing. We have already noticed that our home is no longer drafty, insects aren't creeping in around windows anymore and quiet - oh my goodness, who knew windows could make such a difference. We can barely hear road noise anymore despite our busy location. We are really looking forward to seeing the energy savings. If you are in need of new windows in your home, look no further than Taylors. You are not going to find anyone cheaper for a quality product and professionally done install. As I stated earlier, previous owner used Renewal by Anderson and those windows cost them more than we spent with Taylors. Shamefully, those windows were total garbage and we are so happy to have them replaced with new Taylors windows. All in all a terrific experience with this company, even better than expected. UNFORTUNATE Taylors Window & Screens Experience Do not give any kind of payment or signature before a manager has agreed (signed) to perform the work! The salesperson visited for the initial quote and then a week later to collect deposit, two-weeks later installer came and measured. Each visit we discussed accessing the top window safely and was called in and "no problem". Five weeks later (7 after deposit), I receive a voicemail from salesman stating they can no longer perform the work. After multiple messages I stopped by and spoke with owner who showed me the bold statemen on the bottom of the contract "...All agreement Subject to Management Approval." Yes, we had windows installed eight years ago with Taylor's and we've had problems with them every since and recently we had to do some work around a window in my daughters room and come to find out. They never wrapped any of these windows with any wrap insulation nothing the screen sucks they break easily, you can't get them on off the windows are hard to open and close so we're trying to get new windows because these are the worst windows I've ever had read more

From beginning to end, this has been my first truly unpleasant experience since moving to Greenville. I'm sitting in my living room writing this as a different company is here making me new screens. The "custom made" screens Taylors Window & Screen made me did not fit. When I called to complain, a man just kept saying, "They were made to your measurements." Let's be clear: I never provided measurements, I brought in a screen that did fit. I also had a sliding screen door made. Again, I brought in the door from the original slider for them to use to make me a new door. It did not fit. The only thing Taylors did manage correctly was rescreen the screen I brought them. They wouldn't even come give me a demo on replacement windows unless I wanted more than two windows replaced. As I said to them, it must be nice to have so much business that you turn down customers (I only had two problem windows). So, to recap: my custom products did not fit. They do not offer a satisfaction guarantee with custom work. They did not offer me even a partial refund, and they tried to make it seem like I provided them with inaccurate measurements. Avoid like the plague if you're considering custom screens. read more

Just thought you would like to see what happens about 3 years after Taylors replaces the windows in your home, but I was not able to post the pictures. The wood around the windows has completely rotted away due to a poor seal and crappy caulking, which has all turned black and stays that way even after scrubbing with TSP and bleach. That is what you get when they skimp on such an important item as caulk. read more

I was intending to be a return customer. Usually that means something and being in sales myself, most companies would appreciate that! The ladies that answered the phones we're extremely polite and professional but when I got to the sales manager, Marvin McDonald, he gave me every reason to not even get me a quote! And without any apologies! Wow! That was a first for me! This company does not stand behind their "lifetime warranty." They installed new windows and doors in my sunroom in place of the original sliding glass doors in 2007 All I ever heard the sales person say was lifetime warranty, lifetime warranty, lifetime warranty. My sunroom is now falling apart on the outside and I have had to hire someone else to make repairs before the whole structure falls down. I followed the claim policy they have and after someone came out to look at the issues, I received a letter stating that construction only had a 1 year warranty and the issues were due to my poor home maintenance....that's right....they blamed me for the water rot which happened because they did not use treated lumber on the outside of the structure....how is that my fault? It is not!!! The company I am hiring to make the repairs not only pointed out that untreated lumber was used but also showed me where the design of the structure actually allowed water to run down to the bottom of each window unit which is where the damage occurred. I have one window panel where the inside rubber seal is breaking up and they won't even fix or replace that. So, NO, do not use this company because they do not stand behind their work. read more

Every bit of my experience with Taylors Windows was great. Our new house had several windows with broken seals - you know, that staining between the glass panes. Jason, the Taylors salesman, was quite knowledgeable about windows and gave us a thorough tutorial, and he had lots of props. He gave us a very fair estimate, and a technician came out several days later to get pinpoint measurements. Seven short weeks later, the new windows, which had been made specifically for my house, arrived. We has a little hiccup when the installers pulled out one of my old double windows and found some rotten wood. After consultation with the company, they returned another day to make my needed repairs and install the windows. Everyone was courteous, neat,! and very polite. Travis, Oleg and their crew rehung my blinds, curtains and valences, and were better at reinstalling my siding around the new windows than it was originally. I would do business with them again in a heartbeat. If you need new windows, they're the ONLY company to call!! read more

Excellent company from the initial friendly relaxed salesman who came to my house. To the ease of transferring the warranty on previously installed windows by the prior owner. The picture window we custom ordered replacing two old sliders was perfect. The installers were professional and friendly. Even replaced some pealing trim on windows that weren't on the work order. The 2 stars is for their products. They do have amazing products! The remaining 3 hold the place for service, communication, scheduling, and again, communication. We have had to follow up way too many times to REschedule, but Taylor's Windows made time to send a "remaining balance" for the date we were originally scheduled, which was 3 weeks after the initial time quoted. They were without knowledge of us not receiving our door/service. Terrible, terrible communication. If you have the patience of a slug, go with them, if not, I highly recommend looking into other, more reasonably priced companies. Updated to one star. Received our door, scratched all the way from top to bottom, then they charged us for trim AND a screen that they did not install. Please, please, PLEASE DO NOT use this company. read more

My review consists solely on the sales presentation and not the windows themselves. We were wanting to replace 4 windows in what used to be the carport of our house which was turned into a den by a previous owner. Our house has the original single paned windows that were common in the 60's. Placed a call to Taylors Window after doing extensive research online. I liked that they were a local company. An appointment was made for a quote the next day so the response time was great. The salesman showed up on time, another plus! This is where I start to have issues. I made the appointment for 11:00am thinking this would be enough time for me to make my class starting at noon. WRONG. An hour later he was still talking and showing no signs of being done. Please understand, I have no issues about sales calls, they are an evil necessity. I want to know more about the windows, what they're made of, how they are constructed, etc...what I do NOT need to know is the owner's motto, how the old building (they have since moved) used to be a bakery and smelled like bread and donuts, the windows in our salesman's house, you get the point. I apologized and said that I really had to leave as I was late for my class (it was noon) could he please just measure and give us a quote and skip the rest of the spiel. NOPE. Apparently they are not allowed to give quotes without finishing the sales talk. Really? Second and almost as important is the fact that if you have lead paint (they do a paint scrape test) then the hazmat men in space suits have to come out and eradicate said lead paint for a cost of MORE than what the replacement window costs. There are no other options according to Taylors Window. My point in this review is that I feel that the company should state when scheduling the appointment that a certain amount of time is needed in order to obtain a quote AND to ask if you have lead paint. It will save everyone (salesman AND consumer) a lot of grief. We went with another local company who deals with the lead paint in another acceptable (to the EPA) way and the only sales pitch we received was info on the windows. read more

We found this great little company at a local home show. Talked with Mr. Marvin for a good while asking him every question under the sun. He was super gracious, very knowledgeable and was able to answer everything we asked. We then contacted the company for an in house demo and talk. Again Marvin was great and showed us a lot of information about the windows as well as ideas/ suggestions for what we could do. The other company did not even contact us back. The worst purchase we have ever made since owning our home over 30 years. The widows are "supposed" to be the best windows that Taylors Windows and Screens offer. They claim that they are argon gas filled, hurricane rated, as well as a laundry list of benefits of owning these windows. They were sold as their top of the line product. Within the first month, one of the trapezoid windows had a crack running the length of the window. When the representative came to replace it, he broke a very sentimental Waterford vase. That has yet to be addressed after several years now. All of the windows fog up. This should not happen with a proper seal and especially if they are truly argon gas filled. We also purchased 5 exterior doors. One being one of their "high end" leaded glass entry doors. That "high end" leaded glass entry door, still has a gap between the threshold and the wood flooring. It appears that the proper threshold was not used. I have personally contacted the owner, Mr. Mark Nichols concerning theses issues. He was very rude and disrespectful, including raising his voice to me. I asked if I needed to contact my attorney, his response was "do you want the name of my attorney"!?! I was finally contacted by his representative, Robert Babcock. Mr. Robert Babcock gave me two days only, that he would be available, to choose, to make an appointment with him. I immediately realized that the appointment that was scheduled, conflicted with an appointment that my husband had with his Dr. I promptly contacted Mr. Robert Babcock to inform him of this conflict. When I tried contacting Mr. Robert Babcock again, his phone number had been disconnected. I dialed the exact same number that showed up on my caller I.D, when Mr. Robert Babcock called me, which I had saved into my contacts in my phone. I have tried on numerous occasions to contact Mr. Marks Nichol's wife, who is the acting Vice President of Taylors Windows and Screens, but she is never available or should I say, it's apparent that she screens her calls through her receptionist. She has never returned my phone calls. I am disabled, homebound, bedridden and depend on a wheelchair to be the least bit mobile. Taylors Windows and Screens are quite aware. I was bedridden while they were here doing the installation. I have left a review on Taylors Windows and Screens Facebook page. My review immediately was hidden from their page and I was promptly blocked from making any further comments. From the warranty provided by Taylors Windows and Screens, they are in direct violation of the law and guilty of Breach of Contract of their Lifetime Warranty on the products that they sell. Since it has come down to no resolution after making requests for several years now, my options of getting any resolution from Mr. Mark Nichols are exhausted and have exhausted and stressed both my husband and myself. He has $10,000 of our money, yet we have a mess. The entire reason of our decision to replace our windows and doors rested solely on making our home available for sale. Our home is three levels. With my disability, I am isolated to the ground level. Which I basically live in one room of my home. I have been isolated and confined to one room of my home for over 10 years now. The lack of Taylors Windows and Screens willingness to remedy this situation, is deterring our ability to market our home. My health and physical needs require us to move into a one level home. For us to be able to sell our home, we would have to disclose that the windows are faulty. The Front Leaded Glass Door that I spent an excessive amount of money for, rather than what a standard door would have cost to replace. I added for value and curb appeal for resale of our home. The issue with the threshold and gap in the hardwood flooring would need no written disclosure. It is very obvious when you walk through our front entry door. As this is March, 2019 and we live in the humidity of S.C., I can't say that we enjoy our view out of our fogged windows. Taylors Windows and Screens has their address listed as 1505 Buncombe Rd. After four estimates, we decided to use Taylors Window & Screen. Our windows were only 7 years old, but builders notoriously use cheap windows. Evidently they were poor quality because several of our windows already had broken seals. We replaced all 21 windows. The Taylors Windows are high quality and seal up our house from heat, cold, and noise like a cocoon. We saw a reduction in our utility bills too. The new windows have greatly improved the overall comfort of our home. They are great!! It was also very important to us to buy a locally made product and support the local economy. I wanted to wait to give a review until I had the windows in my house for a few months to "test them out". We are extremely pleased at the windows that we purchased. We replaced all of the windows in our 1970's house with the two tone kind (white outside, wood look inside). They are double hung (love!!!) with the colonial look. Taylor Windows were considerably less expensive then the other company that we received a quote from. The windows were put in when scheduled and the cleanup was excellent. I have had zero issues since installed. Nothing leaks, no drafts etc. I would highly recommend Taylor Windows. read more

I couldn't be more happy with the work done by the installers from Taylors Window & Screen and I love my windows! A three man crew came to the house at the scheduled time, introduced themselves, verified everything that was to be done, and got right to work. I was very impressed with their attention to detail. They were all very polite and very respectful of our house. Shoes were removed every time they came in even after I told them it wasn't a big deal. I was expecting to have to clean up a huge mess after they left anyhow. Boy was I wrong. They cleaned up every little piece of any mess they made. I had 16 Windows installed March 9th. I was so impressed from start to finish.Charlie, the sales person sold me on his demonstration, his statistics and quality of the mechanism. I felt confident from the beginning I had chose the right window company. He was professional, a good listener, extremely informed, sincere and available for all my questions. The men who came to work were professional and did quality work. The place was spotless after they left. The last window installed was the picture window and it was rotted unbeknownst to us. I had the occasion to call Taylors for an estimate to replace my patio door. They were recommended by some friends. The salesman was nice enough, and I was actually going to give them my business, but he failed to get back with me when he said he would and failed to return a message. Thinking they didn't really need my business, I called another company. It was then that I learned of a couple common sales ploys the Taylors guy pulled on me. And they were considerably cheaper too. We recently had Taylors replace all 19 windows in our house. Three factors played into our decision to go with them. First, they are a South Carolina company and manufacture the windows here in the state. Second was the construction and components used in the windows and third, while they weren't the cheapest, they didn't low ball us either like two other companies did. Our order was about 3 weeks behind schedule, however, they let me know prior 1 week prior to my original installation date that they were running behind and followed up 2 weeks later to setup a new installation date. The crew that installed the windows and re-wrapped the window casings were very friendly and efficient. They cleaned up outside and inside and finished up by cleaning the windows gave us instruction on how to operate and clean them ourselves. I'm very pleased with the windows and glad I spent the extra money for Taylors! read more

We couldn't be happier about choosing Taylors Window & Screen to replace 12 windows and 4 sliding glass doors on an older home we purchased two years ago. I happened to visit the warehouse on a Friday afternoon and Chris was kind enough to show me around, describe the unique aspects of the windows and explain the construction process. We ordered our windows in late February and they were installed about 8 weeks later. The installation crew was pleasant and extremely hard working. They also did a great job of cleaning up at the end of each day. Taylors windows aren't the least expensive option on the market, but I feel confident that we received everything that we paid for and that it was an excellent investment. The window quality, aesthetic and installation is outstanding. Furthermore, everyone at Taylors that we interacted with was extremely pleasant, professional, helpful and knowledgeable. I made the mistake of hiring a ''contractor'' to put in 16 windows, this person bought Taylors product. I now have a house full of windows that wont lock. Taylors said they don't warranty any of their windows if they didn't install them. when I called Taylors to talk about my trouble with their windows they were very belittling. I am out $9,000 and the manger wont even tell me how much each window cost me ! read more

A few weeks after the installation, one of their employees visited our home, inspected the work, and asked if were satisfied (good quality control). This customer service experience makes our Top Five WORST in 36 years of home ownership and dealings with any vendors or contractors. It was scheduled for Oct 22nd install to be completed the same day. IT Took "2" months of waiting and missing out on planned trips away from home. Seem excessive, well they sent One installer to handle a two story home and I would not leave him here alone should something go wrong. Installer one had an accident after showing up at my home 4pm on a Saturday thus a no unable to complete Monday but have no fear someone else was being assigned the job. Installer#2 had not idea how and why #1 had done what he had and it was starting over. These folks were recommended by coworkers, but then I came to understand there is a $100. thanks for referral.
