Don't let the lack of reviews fool you, this place is awesome because it provides two of the most delightful things in this world: coffee and cigars. I had visited the shop some years ago but had forgotten how delightful it is.
In the front of the store they have a section with tables and chairs where men can "solve the problems of the world." Then there is a lounge in the back with comfortable sofas and chairs for those, like me, who enjoy a good book and silence. Then further back is a members only lounge. What I most liked about this place is that there is no obnoxious music or television. This plus the dim lighting provides and ambiance that is conducive for thought and reflection. It was Sunday afternoon when I visited so it most likely will not be so restful during lunch hour during the week.
The man who took care of me (I forgot his name) is quite interesting. He prepared my coffee, expresso with hot milk. I was pleasantly surprised and how delicious it was. As I disappeared in the back room with a good book, he left me alone but periodically appeared to see if I needed anything. Turns out he is not a paid employee but "works for cigars." He is retired and enjoys doing what I was doing, read and smoke a cigar.
Don't judge this "book" by the cover. From the outside it doesn't look like much but the inside is very tastefully done. They also have pipe tobacco. read more
