Stopped on the way hime to grab a quick lunch The restaurant had lots of open seating so that was great. We both ordered a Lamb Gyro. The gyro meat was missing the spices we are used to having, but was still good My biggest issue was that the seating area of the restaurant was really cold. The last Taziki's I visited was in Denver years ago so when I saw one on our most recent roadtrip route, we had to stop in! The food was delish and the hummus and pita chips were on point. So tasty!! My kabob platter was perfect and I love how fast everything is made. It makes it the perfect stop on a road trip. Quality food that's not fast food. Thank goodness!! 10/10 experience...I had lunch at Taziki's today Bessemer and had the Salmon with a Greek salad and some rice and it was top notch amazingly outstanding!! Two thumbs up all the way! It was hot and fresh off the grill and the salad that included red peppers, olives, cucumbers, tomatoes ooked and tasted fresh right from the garden. This location is full of kids that lack customer service and etiquette. It's unfortunate that this is the closest location to me being that I love Taziki's. The food here is underwhelming to say the least. It's always inedibly over cooked or extremely undercooked. The only thing they continue to get right is the salad considering there's no protein on it. Even with the salad I have been served salad dressing hot and/or well below room temperature. They're constantly out of the most random things and fail to mention it before making the order giving us customers no time to decide whether or not we want the dish or would like to cancel. Quite frankly, this is also a waste of company resources. Whenever I enter into this location, I'm not greeted- they'll make you wait to order without any acknowledgment. I mean there isn't even a, "Hi, welcome in- someone will be with you in just a moment"... the last two times I've come inside I've observed them gossiping while 2-3 customers wait for someone to come and take our orders. I've also observed someone standing on the grill with their filthy slip resistance shoes on either fixing something or cleaning while there is food inches away on the next grill over (debris falling from the overhead concerningly close to the food if not on it). The worst thing is overhearing the staff (young girls) trash talk customers in Spanish as if no one could hear/understand. Although I wasn't the topic, I kindly asked to speak with a manager and they asked if something was wrong I calmly responded by saying I'd rather speak with a manager. A young guy overheard the request and intercepted the girl on her way to get the manager- he tried to discreetly tell her that I might speak Spanish and heard what was said about the customer based on my facial expression. She then turned around and smiled saying there's no manager on shift. No manager. No team lead. Shift lead. Nothing. To add to the lies, a few of them stated they didn't know when the next manager would be in. LOL. I have 15yrs previous experience in the food & beverage industry and the absolute no.1 key to success is having some form of hospitality along with quality food. This Taziki's location sadly doesn't cherish either. I have had the pleasure of meeting the manager Carlos when I moved to this area. Unfortunately, I've only seen him once during a lunch rush but I mostly have come in the evenings. He was extremely nice and did a great job making sure customers were taking care of while we waited on our orders. Maybe the location needs more Carlos's and less children & no management running the night shift. read more

Pretty good for counter service and a quick healthy meal! It's pretty laid back and casual inside. I started with hummus and veggies. The veggies were very fresh and crisp but the hummus was just ok, lacking in flavor. For my meal, I ordered the chicken kabob feast with Greek salad and basmati rice- the salad was fresh and yummy, the chicken was dry, and the rice had a really nice light buttery and lemony flavor. My hubby had the lamb feast with the same sides and he let me try his (wonderful man), his lamb was amazing! It was tender, flavorful, and cooked medium well which tends to be more overcooked but the tenderness made it ok. Overall, it's a great quick and healthy place to eat. read more

I have patronized this Taziki since it opened. More than half the time, they have mismanaged my orders. When I try to correct it there is always an excuse. They never try to make their errors right. The McCalla location will receive no more of my money. There is a distinct lack of care and consideration. Speaking to them after an error can vary from indifferent to obnoxious. It is a more of an inconvenience to go to the McCalla location 3 minutes away than drive 25 minutes to Hoover. read more

So I am a fan of Mediterranean food and I consider Taziki's the fast food chain of Mediterranean so therefore I don't expect the same thing I would from a true table service restaurant. We noticed this new Taziki's just open at the McCalla exit off 459 and decided to stop in last night for a quick bite. Well it seems that everyone in McCalla decided they wanted Taziki's too. There was a short line to order but almost every table was full and the to go/online ordering pick up area was full of people. I ordered my favorite - the signature pasta - which is only served Friday - Sunday and my husband ordered the harissa chicken. They were out of rice? That is a little weird for a Mediterranean restaurant but they were super busy. We got over that and I went to find a table. A few tables has just been vacated but not cleared of dishes. I took a dirty booth and in a few minutes a girl cleared the table - running as fast as she could. Our food took quite awhile and I watched as several people asked for the manager and became upset. I can't say that the staff was not working but there did seem to be chaos in the kitchen. It was obvious that they are still working out the kinks. Our food came out hot and delicious with no problems other then the wait. My signature pasta (which we at UAB all call the Friday pasta because back in the beginning it was only served on Fridays) was good as usual - mixed lettuces with penne pasta and grilled chicken, tossed in balsamic vinaigrette, topped with tomatoes, feta, and fresh basil. Overall - good food but a little chaotic with a wait. We will give it time and come back after the new wears off. read more

I always get take out. Parking is close to the entrance, the food is ALWAYS ready, the staff is super-friendly and helpful and the food is seasoned well and ALWAYS hot and fresh. Plus u receive loyalty points for dining. The restaurant is always clean and tidy. As well as the restrooms. I highly recommend the McCalla location. read more

First time coming for takeout. I had two orders, one beef and one chicken with rice and potatoes in both. They gave me double rice and they gave us salad dressing in both containers even though we didn't order any salad, instead of the horseradish sauce that goes with the beef. So it just felt like they threw anything in the bag. read more

First: We have liked Taziki's at other locations for a long time. So we went this evening to see what this new one was like. The Mediterranean Salad with grilled shrimp was great, right up there with other established locations. BUT the Grilled Lamb Gyro was Not. The lamb was like it was just heated up. No sign of grilled, no seasoning, and it had small chips if bone in it. And the side of Greek potatoes were not even barely cooked. Still hard and crunchy. New location. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. When they get their act together on the grilled lamb and potatoes, they could be good. read more

I've been to this location several times and it simply does not measure up to other Taziki's. I got the Grilled Lamb Gyro. I don't like that the lamb looked like ground beef. Other locations serve sliced lamb. My husband said it tasted funny to him. There was way too much clear juice dripping from the end of the gyro, making the pita bread soggy and it fell apart before I finished. I got the fruit salad side which was past its prime. The melon pieces were opaque. There was a cucumber from the cucumber salad. My husband had cucumber salad and it had a grape in it which leads me to believe they may have used the same serving spoon. The chips were crispy. The ice was cold. The water tasted funny. And that's all I have to say about that. Won't be coming back to this location. read more
