Final Version for Review…read more I've banked for over 30 years with institutions such as Bank of America, Capital One, and JPMorgan Chase. This was my first experience working with a smaller regional bank, and it has been very different from what I'm used to. When I was buying a business in Vermont, I took a loan through National Bank of Middlebury. As an out-of-state buyer, I relied on local recommendations and expected a smooth process. However, the loan application was slow and grueling, taking much longer than I had anticipated. A few years later, I applied for another business loan, and it took only two weeks to complete the entire process -- a stark contrast to my experience with NBM. In addition to this, I've experienced repeated delays with ACH payments and outbound transfers. Transfers into NBM process quickly, but transfers out are often significantly slower than what I've experienced with larger institutions -- often taking up to two weeks. Most recently, after selling my home, a payment issued through NBM still hasn't cleared a week later. By comparison, I've moved similarly large sums from major banks, and the funds were available the next business day. Even after depositing the NBM payment into my non-NBM account, I deposited a similar sum, and it cleared within 24 hours. One other significant issue has been the bank's outdated security measures, which feel archaic compared to what I've experienced with other banks. This has made certain processes more difficult than they should be, especially when dealing with electronic transactions or interbank transfers. While I understand that many long-time local customers may be satisfied with NBM's services, my experience has been frustrating, especially when compared to the speed and efficiency of larger institutions. Based on my experience, I would not choose a small regional bank again.

Payment online to best buy? Declined and locked. They started using a 3rd party security group. So you have to call them first. Cards still locked. Have to call up bank of middlebury after and have them unlock it on their side. Get your card locked once and you seem to enter into this limbo start of getting locked. Is it any better than a big bank? I don't know anymore

My rent is due tomorrow and they don't have my direct deposit from social security. In there yet,…read moredespite claiming, s I opened an account with them using direct deposit paychecks. They would be early, but they're not early. In fact, they're late, they're late for a very important date. Such as paying my d*** rent, this is not going to work out! How dare they keep my money and make it? So I can't pay my rent. When I know darn well, they can retrieve the money on any date that they choose. Once it has been released by social security and I have in the past month after month, year. After year, gotten my check on the twenty eighth, and here it is. The thirty first and they cannot ensure my rent gets paid on time. Criminal They promise early deposit as direct deposit paychecks. But they don't deliver. Every other bank that I have had with early deposit for direct deposit paychecks would give me my check on the 26th or the 27 or the 28th. Never the 30th never the 31st, never the first second or third. But these people do not deliver, and they make sure twice. Now my rent due on the first is late and they think they're not going to pay the late fee when they've made a promise for my direct deposits to be issued early and theyre not early. Their associates will lie on the phone and tell you That's just the way it is. But for reality, that's only the way it is with Citizens Bank. Every other bank will get your check to you early days and days early, if citizens bank gives you your check early. You'll be lucky if it was a whole one day. I've had other bank accounts and it wasn't like this. So I know that thay are doing this on purpose . They could have the check early, but they don't have the check. Early other banks couldn't have the check. Early, but they can't have the check early. They are liars.
