This bank has convenient hours but terrible customer service! I belong to a non-profit organization & someone other than me chose this bank. We have multiple accounts, each with its own treasurer, but it is set up that there is only one person with the login/administrator capabilities to do online banking. (This means that while I can make withdrawals & deposits, and write checks, I can't go online & see the account that I am in charge of! What kind of ludicrous banking is that!). This also means I have no way of knowing if checks clear or are bounced unless I go all the way over to the bank & wait in line to get a print out of transactions! My organization recently had a fundraiser where we took in over $13,000 at a charity event. That means we deposited over 60+ checks....and when I went to the bank on a Saturday morning I found out that not only did one of them bounce; but TD Bank is charging our non-profit organization $20 for the nsf check from another financial institution. I waited & waited but had to leave because I had another appointment. This meant I didn't know whose check bounced, and I would have to come back another day. A few days later I rushed out of work, headed across town, got to the bank by 4:40, and signed in to get assistance. After 10 minutes the manager came over & told us that the bank was closing, he hadn't even had lunch, and encouraged us to see a teller or come back another time.The other 2 customers & I all said we were waiting. ( if TD's employees don't have time to have lunch; maybe they should staff their bank better.). After waiting the assistant manager told me that there was no way the bank could remove the $20 charge! I asked to speak to the manager, Aaron, and he repeated the same thing. We have over $70,000 in our combined accounts & they can't extend a courtesy and reverse a charge that was not our fault or in our control!!!! (It's hard to believe that a bank manager doesn't have this authority!). They are basically taking $20 away that we would have been donating to children with life-threatening illnesses. Aaron said that "maybe we shouldn't accept checks." Like that's plausible when hosting a charity event.....almost all our donations are made by check! It's ironic how helpful and doting the management was when setting up our account......, telling us how "convenient" their bank is. "Convenient" is not an adjective that comes to mind when thinking of TD Bank; nor is caring or considerate. Time to shop around for a new financial institution! read more

This is a horrible bank. I am taking my money where I can be told the truth and not.put holds on checks they say will be available the next business day. I have deposited numerous checks from this local business who they also use a local bank. Other people deposited the same checks at different banks and they cleared. They also altered the checks and then told.me they had been altered. I took pictures of the checks.prior to going in and depositing these checks in person to the teller. Seems someone in the back altered and put a hold.on the check. Now funds aren't available till next Friday. Next Friday I am going to a bank where I can trust the word of the tellers. As a TD customer, I'd love to see more locations. Today, I needed to make a deposit and as I passed, I pulled in for the drive-through. There were a couple of cars in-front of me and it did feel like it took longer than I would have liked. When I did get to the front, the teller was very nice and did get me on my way quickly. Maybe everyone else had more complicated transactions than me. This was my first time driving through at this branch and I did like that in addition to the secure ATM in the entry, it appears there is also a drive-through ATM. Haven't had a bank acct in 30 years, tried to open one at TD Bank, 1800 Pine Island Road, Plantation. Worst experience possible. Customer service is non existant, it's like they all have IQ's of 35, very very very rude. Am handicapped, so opened acct. online for convenience, first had no problem, was all set, was supposedly verified etc, but web site kept saying they were setting up acct., and I could use it shortly. No such deal, after verifying me three times with texts, the next day, all of a sudden couldn't verify my cell number. A total cluster funk on their part. Couldn't get through to the manager, was always unavailable, (some manager.) I'm still trying to figure out what they are managing. Wasted hours on this, still no answer or progress, and am out my deposit, when I told their customer service I just wanted my money back, and forget their account, she told me I had to get a notarized letter stating that I wanted to close the account, and I would have to wait until they mailed me my money back. TD bank is horrible! Their mobile app never has correct balance information and their policies regarding customers are rigid an archaic. Instance 1: my dog had a tumor on his eye and needed surgery. I deposited a check and asked them to make more than $100 available due to the emergency situation. They would not release all the funds despite my excellent history. Instance 2: I had an unauthorized charge come through. The authorized charges that were made prior to the unauthorized charge were also approved but I was charged $35 4x. I disputed the validity of the charge and also pointed out the other charges were made prior but I was simply told my an inflexible customer service representative that charges are processed according to highest to lowest. Therefore the unauthorized charge ate up most of my available balance therefore the others were considered overdraft and they have the right to process/assess fees however they please. I spoke to a friend in banking and while it's a common practice, it doesn't make it ethical. Farewell TD Bank. You've lost an excellent, loyal customer. One who does NOT overdraft! read more

TD Bank held the check till December 27, 2018 before releasing any of my money. I've read the bad reviews but cant believe we are talking about the same place. While often very busy the staff is very friendly and helpful. There is bottled water and comfortable seating if you need to wait. Needed some documents notarized and was taken care of quickly and efficiently. Needed a new ATM card and got one in minutes even though I am from out of the area. Open 7 days and much later than most other banks in the area. A bit difficult to enter and exit depending upon the direction you are going. read more

TD bank as a whole is a disgrace of a company. I live in Florida and it's hurricane season. I needed to buy a generator. There was a promotion going on tax free until 4/6/19. The problem with that is that I get paid on that Friday and would loose out on the sale. I tweeted everyone under the sunroom try to get it extended just one more day but got no response. It's not like the company can do anything about that that has to do with the IRS legislation so forth. I asked the bank to release the funds once they see the amount pending on that Thursday. I was promised up and down she would release the funds and keep tabs on the account throughout the day. She also promised to call me back. Neither happened. I ended paying $60 more because the generator was $800. Don't waste your time here. They simply do not care about their customers. A perfect example of that is the reviews. I don't know which TDBank you folks are reviewing, but it could NOT possibly be the on on 1800 W. Sunrise Blvd in Plantation, Florida! I took my daughter who will be on her way to college there to open an account. The friendliest customer service I have ever had in my life! I stopped in again a few weeks later ( although my daughter insisted on the drive-thru or doing a phone deposit) and the courtesy, friendliness was good as well. I don't know if perhaps it was due to the holidays or that one walks in with a happy disposition. Their fees are up there with all the big banks. Although, I noticed banks no longer explain Next Day Availability, Check floats (Fund Availability a/k/a Reg CC). And other regulations as Reg E (Electronic banking) which I believe is what governs most of todays world, especially young people with all the electronic gadgets. It's ALL handed to the customer in a ton of paperwork in tiny letters with legal terms that people file away in a drawer. 3 minutes of explaining helps clients understand better so they do not overdraft and know their rights. Best customer retention! All-in-all, we have a free Student Account which is good for the next four years and conveniently in my street; plus a few new branches I just saw open! i don't normally write reviews but after reading these, i am compelled to come to my TD Branch's defense. I have lived, worked and run a business in this area for 50 years and believe me, This bank is excellent. The available options on their accounts are top notch and their fees are rock bottom. But more importantly, i have found them to give excellent, personal service. We have two accounts with them- a personal checking and savings and a checking for our dog rescue. When one of our accounts was hacked, i was thrilled with the service from the manager. When i had another situation, i waited patiently (on a Sunday - no one else is even open much less have an officer available!) while she gave the same careful, detailed service to another customer. The tellers always say hi and call us by name. Our accounts have been handled efficiently and very, very politely! The other reviews here are absolutely wrong! I suspect i have had more experience with South Florida banks than they have. This TD is a great asset to our community and to our business. I thank them for being there for us. read more
