Had the worst banking experience with the branch manager. Went to the teller window to make a…read moredeposit and drop off a preprinted check reorder form. The manager, who did not identify herself as such and did not wear a name tag, assisted me. She took care of the deposit into my checking account. I asked if I could leave the reorder form with her, which I've done dozens of times before. She replied yes. Then she asked for ID, which was a first for me, and I asked why. She replied, policy. I gave her my driver's license and I asked since when. She would not answer, but she did say, "what, you think these forms can't be counterfeited?". I asked again and pointed out the reorder form was for the same account she did the deposit in. She did some typing and then asked for a second ID such as a credit card or ATM card. I asked what that is for. I tossed it into the widow scoop and asked again what is going on. All the info on my license matched the previous transaction and the reorder form. I was becoming irritated at this point. She then returned my ID's by sarcastically waving them at me and a manner of saying "heeeere". I said "really? Nice attitude". She told me she didn't like the way I tossed the second ID into the teller scoop. Then it became pointless barbs back and forth about terrible customer service and training. She then refused to place my check reorder, handed it back to me and told me I had to leave the branch. She stepped out from behind the teller windows and escorted me to the front door. I was shocked but complied while saying I couldn't believe this and it's bullshit. She opened the outside door and as I passed she repeatedly said FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU to me as I passed. At this point, I flipped her off as I walked outside. Again, this was the manager. NEVER USE THIS BRANCH. THE MANAGER IS RUDE AND NASTY. While I was irritated due to her handling of everything from the start, proper customer service at any time would have defused the situation. She was obnoxious and obstinate the entire time, and then flat out abusive at the end.

A verbal PIN and new access questions were created. On March 13th, Chase Livingston created new accounts, transferring the balances from the old accounts. On March 14th around noon, I discovered another set of transfers and withdrawals from my college son's new accounts created on March 13th. All the withdrawals were made in person at Chase tellers at FL or NJ. Chase returned one of the withdrawals and accused me, stating "the item(s) being disputed were authorized, or you received benefit from the item(s)." The total loss is around $50K. Chase allowed the withdrawals solely based on a fake photo ID without a debit card or checks with signatures. So far, Chase refuses to admit any wrongdoing and refuses to return the unauthorized withdrawals. For the safety of your money, I suggest staying away from Chase.

I have been banking here for several years and I will say it has been adequate, but I would not use…read moreValley for anything other than a few "basic" financial items, such as savings or checking accounts. The staff is polite and attentive but do not seem overly familiar with any other more useful or complex products. Each representative will give you a different story about how they work which means you sometimes get inaccurate information (definitely not good) and the rates at Valley are not competitive with local banks.

Terrible Bank. The whole company lacks communication between the branches, corporate, and customer…read moreservice and IS NOT looking out for the customers' needs. I had an issue with a charge on my account and all I received in return was "nos" and "I'm sorry, we can't help you." No one was willing to even listen to what I was saying, because they already had their mind made up. As a customer, they made me feel insignificant and not worth their time, which are some traits that don't bode well in customer service. All they are looking to do is look out for their business and have no problem screwing over the customer (essentially why I keep ALL my money in another bank that I know won't screw me over). Immediately after I saw how I was treated I canceled my account and will be bringing my service elsewhere. It is not worth my time as a customer or human being to not be respected or have my voice heard. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH VALLEY NATIONAL.
