I was doing so after experiencing horrible customer service when resolving an issue with my Wells Fargo credit card. No one asked why I was closing my account. No one cared that they were losing a customer. Yesterday I returned to this same branch to close my checking account. I was told I had to see someone at the desks. This person asked why I was closing my account. I told her it was due to poor service. Without asking anything else, she gave my the form to take to the teller. Obviously customer service was not her forte either. While waiting for the teller to give me my money, I glanced over at the next teller's computer. He was obviously car shopping, which would not have been a big deal, except he had a customer. Apparently his personal shopping was more important to him than his customer's money. I now know why this bank has such a terrible customer service rating. Stay away so you do not learn the hard way.
