DO NOT BANK WITH TD BANK!!! Plenty of hidden fees!!!! My fiancé and I decided to test out TD bank as our first joint account. We deposited $100 into the account to get started. $100 or more it's a free account. Then our account was delinquent because there are a paper statement fee. Which was NOT disclosed to as by the "English is my second language" banker. He calls TD customer service, fixed the problem and got our $100 back. Problem solved? NO! Some how there's an annual maintenance fee. Then our account was closed with -$48. Ummmm hello? It's a free account. What is the point of a free account? At this branch now and we are teaching the banker where the problem went wrong. A couple of things TD needs to understand and change ASAP. 1) find better bankers and workers. 2) understand the term free account. Hey folks, if you plan on opening an account with TD, make sure you ask for 1) paperless statement upon account activation and take a picture that the option is checked off. 2) double check there is not an annual maintenance fee. 3) definitely do a test run with account and make sure you are happy with their services before depositing all of your money in the account. After this experience, they say minimum amount is $100 but bring $500 just in case. Good luck! read more

Received a flier from TD Bank to earn a $500 bonus for opening a checking and savings account. Did everything as per instructions but found out days later that funds transferred to both accounts was deposited only to the checking account. Called the toll free number and was advised to visit the nearest branch to resolve the issue. When visiting the bank, was told that they wouldn't be able to help nor guarantee the bonus. Ended up withdrawing the money intended for the savings account. Called the toll free number days later to report what happened at the nearest branch and was told to call the bank and speak to the the bank manager directly. A call was made to the local bank. A female employee answered and was asked to be directed to the branch manager. The person did not identify herself as the branch manager but instead just asked what was the matter? After the situation was retold, the employee said that it cannot be resolved and that she is busy and that she has interviews etc etc. When asked again to talk to the branch manager, she said, I am the branch manager!!! Suffice it to say, she wasn't able to help. All she ended up saying is she doesn't have the flier infront of her so she doesn't know. She also said to call the toll free number yet again because the local branches can't help AND for me to read the fine print because i probably won't get the bonus. read more

This location has improved dramatically since opening. It is a very busy branch and you can end up waiting at times which can be frustrating. Recently I ran into the bank at closing on a Friday and the staff was so gracious after a long and busy day I'm sure. It was refreshing that I didn't get attitude. By far the worst TD branch in NY. The atms are always out of service! After coming to this branch countless of times I have experienced nothing but aggravation. Every morning the atms are down which is ridiculous no one has time in the morning to wait. Then they have a nerve to tell you to go to the teller which they usually have 1 teller that is helping customers, another teller helping no one, and then you see the branch manager just standing there doing absolutely nothing. There never seems to be anyone at the drive thru M-F between the hours of 2 and 3pm. I've attempted the drive thru, sat and waited 10 minutes and decided to just go inside. Theres always a long line inside because they are understaffed (like a lot of other TDs). The tellers are actually nice and friendly at this location though, I've never had any customer service issues. I had an account at Cross Island branch in Queens at 148- 08 cross island pkwy.I tried to get a simple notary done by assistant manager miss Sylvia after waiting about 35 minutes ,she was still working with other people and did not notarize it. I had an other assistant manager come up to me and asked me after knowing me for several years that I have accounts with them. that if I have an account with them then they can end up doing it. my house is right across from TD Bank. This bank is no better or worse than any other bank. Yes the lines are long and yes the bell to signal the window teller never works but the real issue with this and every other bank is the total lack of personal service. Even though you are a customer for years, they always ask for ID and never go out of their way to assist you with an issue which is not a normal transaction. I had a check from NY state made out to a Corporation which was Dissolved. I had proof that I was an officer of the Corporation but they would not cash the check for me. Even though Inhad more than enough money in the account to cover the check. Get used to the fact that we are prisoners of all the banks lack of service.
