This is one of those neighborhood or town places where they always remember you. Most of the time by name but not always. You can't expect perfection. I had some papers that had to be notarized before being mailed out and they took care of it so quickly. They even made me copies. Even at a different bank I use the charge me for copies if I need them. This one was kind enough not to this most recent time. The tellers here seem to really like their job and the place they work at because it shows in their demeanor. Some of the banks i go to, the tellers seem to not want to be there or it looks like they don't like their job. Even when some of them here have had a less than stellar day or something going on in their lives they leave it at the door. Most of us don't want to deal with that. We all have our own things going on in our lives. Although it is nice to ask what's going on and listen from time to time to help someone vent and let their frustrations out. We just don't want to hear that or see that in their attitudes when we're doing business and here I've never experienced that. They're very professional, kind and wholesome people. I wish more bank or credit union employees were more like the ones they have here. They're located right off of Main Street right next to the post office. A slightly tight parking lot during busy times but it works the rest of the time without any issues.

They do have 1 walk up ATM & 1 drive up ATM which they tend to push customers to use instead of seeing a teller. Their hours aren't the most convenient compared to other banks in the area. They delayed the process and communication was horrible. They delayed it to the point where they were only going to cover a small percentage of the thousands that were stolen. They stated it was policy to only cover fraud within 60 days!! This person was stealing for months and months. And now the bank wont cover the fraud? Isnt that what they are insured for? taking advantage of the elderly by a criminal and not to have the bank there when needed is a crime too!!!!!!!

Have been a customer of Webster since moving to Middlebury about 7 years ago…read more Was initially pretty happy with it's customer service, but no longer. My wife's Debit card was allowed to expire without any notification and never received a new one. Had to go to the bank to get a new one and after 2 weeks, received the new one. Tried using the phone system to activate - 3 times. Did not work. So went to the Southbury branch only to learn that activating the card is self service - Only!! Clerk said the phone system works for some people! Suggested we use the ATM. They have no indoor ATM so me and an assistant mgr went around the building to use the drive-thru ATM, dodging cars. The ATM allowed the card to be activated and I changed the PIN, but the system would not allow me to see my accounts or get cash or whatever. So the Asst Mgr apologized and when I asked if the screw ups were associated with the merger he replied yes and there were several things that were being sorted out. This is THREE weeks after the merger! How could basic customer banking transactions not work? I have not received any correspondence from Webster advising of issues and the clerk at the branch attitude pretty much summed it all up. "Phone works for some people"! Really? What if it was an emergency and my needed to withdraw cash? We tried that at a Chase Bank and couldn't withdraw anything just got an error msg. Terrible.
