We were reminded by the text system a day and an hour in advance, and since it's tucked away in a plaza in Redmond, it's got plenty of parking. The only issue you may have is not knowing where the door is, because there's no big sign - the towa sign next to the doorway is smaller than the window panel in the door. When you step in, you feel a sense of quiet and calm - because that's what it is. Nori Morita (of the I love sushi group in Bellevue) runs a music-less, authentic Japanese kaiseki experience here. There's 6 seats at the counter, and maybe about 10-12 seats in the surrounding tables. It's a small space but it doesn't feel cramped. There's one all-gender bathroom and one single-stall female bathroom at the very back. Service throughout the meal was generally polite, courteous, and proactive. My water glass and the missus' tea were never left below half. They cleared each course quickly as we finished it, and the meal pacing is such that Nori can keep up with you, even if he's making all six counter dishes and all 12 table dishes at once. It's kind of like a maestro orchestra, but he has plenty of helpers - at least two wait staff, and an additional one or two sous chefs that are handling the auxiliary things around him. Food: while the meal was overall satisfying and filling, there was no standout highlight, or any particular dish that disappointed. It wasn't "meh", but it didn't really wow either the missus or I. I'm sure it'll be forgettable in a few weeks, which is the main reason for 4 stars - it's a bit more pricey than I'd expect for something this high quality. It qualifies for top 10 Omakase / Kaiseki in Seattle by nature of having high end ingredients and baseline high service quality, but those are table stakes given the competition.. The Miyazaki A5 wagyu was genuinely a decent portion size, but given that I've had it before, I guess maybe I expected a deeper flavour profile? The dish that I enjoyed the novelty the most was the Shabu Shabu king salmon - being able to eat sashimi-grade King salmon that you dip into boiling hot soup was a fun treat that definitely elevated the fattiness in the taste profile. Drinks: besides water, the missus ordered the hot hojicha tea, and I got the seasonal sake flight for $39. It was a decent selection, but it was heavily overpriced for the quality of sake and the amount you got. At most I'd expect to pay $25 for four 2oz pours, especially since one overlaps with Ltd Edition (kokuryu - black dragon). Verdict: it's lower half of the top 10 in Seattle - but it's still worth going if you want to celebrate something with high quality service and ingredients. I personally probably wouldn't do the $250 version again, but I'd be interested in doing the other ones. We both enjoyed ourselves - but idk if it's worth $700 for two people (service charge of 20% is added, plus tax...), so take that for what you will. Fun coincidence: all three couples seated at the counter when we were there were celebrating an anniversary - 11th for the farther couple, and 18th for the couple next to us. So for what it's worth - this place is definitely a destination for those that want to celebrate something.

Saturday, August 1, while driving on I-5 south near the Tulalip Outlets just off exit 200, it was…read morestop and go traffic on the highway. Cars had slowed to a crawl and I came to a complete stop just as cars in front of me were stopped due to the early afternoon weekend traffic jam. And as I was stopped a light green Prius had crashed into my car completely damaging my rear bumper and pushing my car into the car in front of me further damaging my front bumper and hood. The shocking part was the driver of the light green Prius did not stop to check to see if myself, my passengers, and the driver in front of me were OK. The woman driving the lime green Prius had left the scene and drove off without taking any accountability or responsibility for what had happened. It looked like she was distracted and on her phone during the accident. Luckily, none of my passengers were hurt or injured during the accident. And the woman driving a 2017 Lexus in front of me was not hurt either. Her car did not sustain any damages either, just my 2005 Nissan Maxima SE. I had called 911 to request assistance and seek advice from a state trooper on whether my car was safe to drive home. It was fortunate that I did, I was still shaken from what had happened and still in disbelief the women in the light green Prius had driven away making it a hit and run accident. Soon after speaking with the state trooper I had called several tow truck companies in the area. Richard's Towing was one of two who responded immediately. I called and left a voice mail message with my name number and details of the accident. Richard had called me back and was very professional. He asked me specific details, where I was located, where I would like my car to be dropped off, calculated the total distance between Tulalip and Bothell (25 miles) to provide an accurate estimate, and he also provided an eta when he was able to pick up my car. Richard provided clear and transparent pricing, professional service, and I was also able to ride along in his tow truck for the drop off. During the ride home, Richard was very personable and shared his knowledge and experience with similar accidents. The accident was a bit jarring and the conversation helped me calm my nerves and get my mind off losing my car or no longer having a reliable car to drive. Once we arrived at my home, Richard safely unloaded my car, accepted my payment via phone app. He was also able to provide and email me an invoice for the towing service so I could submit a copy to my insurance company. I highly recommend Richard's Towing. Richard earned my trust by providing clear and transparent communication. His pricing was fair and accurate based on the miles calculated and rate for the distance traveled. Richard was also very personable and showed much needed empathy and compassion after my accident.
