I had contracted with Tom to wallpaper several rooms in my home as well as paint the same rooms. While you may get lower bids with Tom, my experience is that he does not follow-up with the quality installation. He botched some very epxensive wallpaper in my Powder Room. My husband said it looked like a bunch of his buddies came over for a drinking and wallpaper hanging party. Irregular seams, no matching of patterns. I had kindly asked Tom not for my money back - but to simply remove my paper so I could re-install some new paper as it looked awful. He refused. This is in addition to me having to call him to follow-up continuously on my project. I rarely write Yelp reviews, but in this instance I felt like others should be aware of my situation. read more

Our home was previously owned by a heavy smoker and needed to be completely re-painted. We met with Tom once and hired him based on his fair price and his professionalism. After meeting Tom we returned home, out of country, and left it in TDL's hands. Tom was amazing! He communicated regularly, sent update photos to us, and was readily available. I initially gave a favorable review because the painters were on time, did a good job, and cleaned up after themselves. However, I feel compelled to change that review now. Almost immediately after we had our house painted, we started noticing that wherever anyone or anything bumped against the paint, it would fleck off showing the light color underneath the new paint. My husband called him and he said there's nothing that can be done. He said stucco is designed to fleck off. My husband asked why he didn't warn us when we were contemplating a darker color. He said this has never come up before, but since my husband's voicemail, he has mentioned it to others who are considering darker colors over lighter stucco. Apparently now we're going to have to manually touch up whatever spots show up. This is very frustrating and disappointing. He should have mentioned that to us when we were talking to him about colors before painting. My husband even asked him back then if we should put darker paint over light stucco and he said it would be fine. We're very disappointed. read more

TDL Painting was one of 5 bids I got for painting the interior of my condo. Tom's bid was the second lowest. The first bid was so low that I felt very uncomfortable with following up. The "contractor" was going to paint the interior in one day without even seeing the place! On the other hand, TDL Painting was timely with coming to see the place and had a written bid emailed to me later that day. Tom and his crew were very professional and did a superior job. They removed all window coverings and hardware, door knobs, electrical plates and was very detailed in covering up items not to be painted with the tarp. Love TDL! I bought a house with a number of decorator RED walls, including a Master Bath with RED and GOLD wallpaper floor to ceiling. Tom and Theresa met us at the house to give us an estimate. They were a bit higher but they were very professional and friendly and I knew I would be able to trust them in my house because I was not going to be here when the job was done prior to moving in. Tom was given a key and he put his own lock box on the house with the key for his crew only. The job they did was excellent! Tom's communication with me was great also. 55+ community and will be recommending them I rely on Yelp reviews. That is how I found TDL. This is my first time leaving a review. Just had TDL Painting paint the inside and outside of our house. Tom, the owner, gave an honest bid and he and his crew did a great job! Tom also helped with some paint brand and color decisions. Had some delays due to wind, but Tom kept us informed and worked with us to get the job done. Tom was very easy to work with and made sure we were happy with the job. Tom and his crew did a wonderful job painting the interior and exterior of my 1200 sf home. They also painted cabinets, removed old hardware, repaired area and put all new hardware on cabinets and doors. I couldn't let them go, had them paint garage interior and door, and front door. Tom understands and works well with HOA guidelines. You won't meet a nicer, more competent, easy going business owner. His guys were always happy and smiling...not only did they clean up after themselves...they also cleaned up after tile guy and tried to keep my garage picked up. TDL Painting was referred to me by my real estate agent along with another company. I got quotes from both companies and decided to go with TDL since Tom was so responsive and his price was much lower. His guys painted the complete inside of my 2,000 sq/ft house and it turned out great! Afterwards I noticed one spot that needed touching up and he personally came out and took care of it. Tom and TDL did an absolutely fantastic job at our condo. I would highly recommend him and his company. he is very responsive and returns calls and emails quickly. We have never let anyone do work while we are not there but we are absentee owners and felt comfortable with Tom. He advised us that his wife supervises the crew. We returned to a great job. The cabinets look fantastic and the rest of the work too. I will be calling him back for some additional work very soon.
