When I opened the container, had I not been so tired, I would have driven right back there and asked for replacement tacos. (I realize this part is on me, so don't come for me, I'll talk to them on my next visit, because I'll be back). The fish was tiny and almost burnt on the outside. Inside the batter, the fish was dry and almost not edible. I ate one taco, mostly tortilla, pico and cabbage, and half of my fries. Talk about disappointment. If you're going to do that, at least put some butter on it and grill it, otherwise it's a bland, tasteless side mess, which it was. I usually have a mixed drink and their pizza and have yet to be disappointed, so next time, that's what I'll do. Avoid the lasagna or whatever it is they call lasagna. As far as the bar itself is concerned? I love the retro look and feel of the place, always have, always will. This time though, there were A LOT of kids there - must've had some sort of special going on. It wasn't loud or obnoxious or kids running everywhere while we there, I've just never seen that many kids there before. No biggie.

Definitely the morning pick me up I needed. Since I wasn't able to get a hardier breakfast, I opted for a donut. The cake donut was definitely yummy! While there were three people working behind the counter, I had to wait about 10 minutes to even order. One staff member was making drinks, another making food, and the third was making signs. I'm sure the signs were important, but so are customers who are standing in front of you. Bottom line, I will give Uptown another shot when I'm back in the area because the coffee was that good and the sandwiches being made looked and smelled delicious.
