Rewind to my Fiancé proposing to me at the Oceanfront. So fast forward, I decide to book with Indie Picnics for a Proposal round two, same spot, because every woman deserves a proposal. Booking was simple. Pick a date and time, pay the deposit (50%) and you're booked. You receive a confirmation through PayPal, also you are required to pay via PayPal so be prepared to login to your account. The website could be more descriptive. Fine print reads that you should call prior to booking to confirm that the slot is in fact available and they can accommodate your booking. I however booked and confirmed after. It states on their website that all contact will be returned within 48hrs but I had to reach out again 72 hrs later to confirm booking and accommodations. I gave 4 stars for this reason. After paying your deposit and booking something as intimate as this, I believe companies should be mindful to confirm and update their clients as stated. Otherwise you leave clients feeling anxious and worried. When booking you also have an opportunity to choose the amount of guests, location of your choice (they help if you need a location), and add special request. I booked "Just the two of us" at $200. Event includes, tableware, rugs, pillows, tepee, battery powered candles, decor, plate-ware, silverware, glasses, sparkling water and charcuterie . Unfortunately we did not receive the tepee at our booking which I was looking forward to. We opted for a fruit board, which was okay. The dessert they included was also alright. Nothing special. All and all, This luxury picnic company sets up some beautiful arrangements. I recommend packing your own libations if quality is what you seek. It is really convenient to have someone else set the scene for your special occasions.

Noel was able to coordinate additional decorations from a previous event without charging us which we really enjoyed. The outside deck gives good views of Lynnhaven inlet as well. Negatives, Food quality is about a 3 out of 5 stars and not representative of the price you are paying. Most items were clearly pre-made food service items that were re-heated or deep fried. Chicken was a little dry, sauce was pre-packaged, shrimp were fried or baked from frozen with sriracha sauce drizzled over them and labeled bang bang shrimp, apps were pre-made food service company items. We were disappointed in the food at the tasting, commented that we wanted the kitchen to step it up, but ended up with the same crap food for the event. Minus 1 star. They charge a service fee to pay with credit card here. I don't appreciate a business passing on the fee that a credit card company charges them so that they can offer that payment method to their customers. It's a slimy business tactic. If you're going to nickle and dime me for your costs, just build it in to your prices and then offer a cash discount. Minus .5 stars. Overall, we really enjoyed our event and our service was great, but the food is cafeteria quality at best. Lori and Tania have been incredibly helpful and so pleasant to work with. Most recently, I hosted a gathering for 20+ employees and selected YG's heavy hors d'oeuvres option. A gentleman arrived right on time and set up everything as requested. Bonus - we can't use open sterno and YG brought a flameless option for hot foods. Hours later, it was still piping hot! The buffet included ham biscuits with a sweet jam on the most flavorful cheddar herb biscuits I've tasted! Also served were meatballs with mozzarella and marinara, chickpea cakes with pesto, spinach dip with crostini and pita bread, brie en croute with dried fruits, almonds and crackers and a Mexican cookie dessert tray with chocolate dip. Everything was beautifully displayed and so delicious! We had plenty of leftovers as well, which will be meals for days. I look forward to using Yummy Goodness for future events.
